Introduction: I started off wanting to make use of Scolipede's speed boost w/ Subs and Mega Mawile's Huge power, as the first option. Found it difficult to set up swords dances due to Scolipede's rather common weaknesses to fire, flying and psychic in OU.
1. Sableye starts off with taunt, especially to check common entry hazards, WoWs/ knock off depending on typing of opponent. Knock off really helps deal with espeon's magic bounce. If the opponent's attacks dont deal enough damage, I will recover repeatedly till he weakens or switches out. If sableye faints, then usually my next choice will be Blissey to tank hits. Sableye often meets other pranksters who taunts, so
Sableye @ Focus Sash
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Knock off
- Recover
- Taunt
---
Substitute repeatedly to speed boost to a safe speed, swords dance when given a free turn to do so if substitute is still up. Not much else to say but any team that has phazing/taunt is a sure threat.
Scolipede @ Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Baton Pass
- Swords Dance
- Substitute
- Megahorn
--
Multiscale offers one option of receiving baton pass from Scolipede. Decent bulk to tank at least two hits, taking fire attacks where Mawile may not be able to tank
Weakness policy was also considered over leftovers
Dragon (Dragonite) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Claw
- ExtremeSpeed
- Earthquake
- Waterfall
--
Blissey's has many roles, tanking physical hits, stalling with toxic, wish passing, providing others with a suicidal full restore (usually either Scolipede or mawile). Common threats: heatran, ferrothorn, skarmory, gliscor, venusaur, completely negating blissey's moves. Other moves considered were heal bell and seismic toss, but ultimately did not test them.
The strategy is to make use of wish passing/heal wishing to repeat the chain of speed boosts when it come to a halt.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Healing Wish
- Protect
- Wish
---
Absolute beast when mega evolved. A +2 attack from scolipede is often enough to finish teams. Has a tough time with other steel types though due to its lack of fire punch. For teams not prepared with a +4 or +6 attack, sucker punch is enough to sweep entire teams. Additional coverage moves help a lot with just speed boost.
Problems: All moves make contact, especially against ferrothorn's iron barbs and rocky helmet or Aegislash
Mawile @ Mawilite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Iron Head
- Sucker punch
- ThunderPunch
---
Lastly, i've tried many different pokemons for this slot and it is still tentative. Garchomp, azumarill, kyurem-B, kangaskhan. Would like suggestions on the last slot, perhaps a skarmory w/ defog?
Problems: All moves make contact, especially against ferrothorn's iron barbs and rocky helmet or Aegislash, just like mawile
Scrafty @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Drain Punch
- Crunch
- Fire Punch
Conclusion: A high risk strategy that depends on the appropriate pokemon receiving scolipede's boosts and starting a sweep on its own.
