Coming back to the game after a break and messing around with mixed/spikeless offense. Also watched BKCs video on the style and came up with some tech choices to cover some weaknesses.
Jolteon @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 76 HP / 180 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 2 Atk / 30 SpA
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Substitute
- Baton Pass
Jolteon over Zapdos supports snorlax by absorbing lightning moves better. BP prevents dug from trapping it, and sub prevents twave from lead zap and in general let's you scout the opponent or subpass. Hp ice would threaten lead Salamance, but they have to switch regardless and swampert is arguably a bigger wall.
Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 168 HP / 252 Atk / 88 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Explosion
Standard CB meta.
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 92 HP / 116 Atk / 144 Def / 156 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Punch
- Self-Destruct
Without twave support there is no need for speed EVs.
Machamp @ Leftovers
Ability: Guts
EVs: 136 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Cross Chop
- Rock Slide
- Hidden Power [Ghost]
- Bulk Up
Machamp replaces offensive swampert as a rock resist, which also pivots into will-o-wisp which otherwise cripples this style. I tried a CB set first, but it is too easy to switch in gengar on cross chop or a normal type on hp ghost. The same problem is there for sleep talk, since it would miss 1/3 of the time against Gengar or Smeargle. The power of CB isn't needed with guts active, or alternatively a bulk up boost.
Aerodactyl @ Choice Band
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake
- Hidden Power [Bug]
- Double-Edge
CB aero instead of Tyranitar doesn't throw up sand, avoids dug, and can come in more times as a revenge killer.
Salamence @ Lum Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Hidden Power [Flying]
Standard DDmence as the setup sweeper/pivot.
The team is a bit weaker to spikes and sand than the standard team, but I think the benefits outweigh the cons.
