SPL 6 Teams n_n

FINALLY AM ABLE TO POST THIS

~under construction since i have a couple other teams on my laptop i need to c/p onto here~

I'm not going to go as in-depth as Stratos / Mizuhime did, but here are all of the teams I ran this year in SPL.

First, the different Pokemon I ended up using. I usually don't make an effort to use anything different, and I'm sure there's not as many as a lot of other people who played, but I ended up using these 35 different Pokemon during SPL at one point or another:

Feel free to ask any questions if you want to know more. I simply don't have the time right now to give an in-depth explanation of each team, but I'm willing to explain things that people want explained.

Clefairy was used for redirection and its typing, as I needed something that had Follow Me and didn't get nuked by Dragons (Hydreigon especially). It also gave the team more options during play due to Friend Guard. I think it's something that should be looked into more in this format.

Trevenant was a last-minute throw-on that BLOOD TOTEM suggested. Nothing really special there, just kinda fit what I needed.

Crobat was to slam FO + Setup leads hard as I figured that if Snakes didn't bring Kanga + Azu stuff, he'd use TR, and Crobat took care of both while Super Fang gave me consistent damage early game. Niche mon more than anything.

Rhydon was there because I really was afraid of Electric-type moves and needed something to KO birds and another check to Heatran.

Follow up question why didn't you use clefable or Rhyperior? Was the eviolite bulk that necessary?

im intersted to know a bit more about the ev spreads on your week 2 team.
edit: BUNNIES ARE COOL AND YOU AREN'T >:(

Follow up question why didn't you use clefable or Rhyperior? Was the eviolite bulk that necessary?
Friend Guard was the reason for Clefairy over Clefable. Clefable is bulkier in general with Sitrus, but Clefairy takes big hits slightly better and Friend Guard is really helpful in a decent amount of situations. It allows you to use Helping Hand a bit more often than Follow Me, since there's certain hits you're able to take more comfortably.

iirc Rhydon had more bulk than Rhyperior which I needed more than the Atk.

Hey man those are really cool teams n_n
For your week 11 team (love the nicknames BTW, Assassination Classroom is great!!) why did you opt for both Crunch and Sucker Punch on Kanga?

I didn't have any attack invested and I'd be doing more damage to anything except Ghosts with SToss anyway, so I wanted SP to pick off low health mons and Crunch since I had not so much for Aegi and MegaGar with Mew + Kanga lead. I knew Finally ran Leftovers Substitute Aegislash so I wasn't really afraid to Crunch it, not sure that's safe vs other ones though.

And Assassination Classroom n_n

Alright cool as fuck teams zach, Big fan. Just wondering though, could you mind elaborating a bit behind the week 5 team against snakes and how it plays out as a whole? The replay doesn't really help due to the fact that you won on timer on T8 though it looks like a cool team but the logic behind it baffles me. Plz halp Braverius

Haha, thanks for the compliments, and fair question - the Week 5 team was a 100% dedicated counterteam. I wanted to beat that silly Kanga + redirection + Psych Up stuff that him and SoulSur were using, and I wanted to absolutely slam dunk it. I also wanted options if he used semi-TR which I kind of expected against me, but I dedicated it to beating Jirachi + redirection hard. I spent probably 8-10 hours a week preparing most of the teams, and I spent about that on futile teams that couldn't really give me a really solid wincon vs that stuff regardless of the move that was made. This team kept doing that in practice (Discharge let me hit Rotom-W if I somehow let Jirachi + Azu get into play, Excadrill and Tyranitar helped me rid of Jirachi quickly, spread moves wore the Kanga down before it got rolling.)

Sidenote and I guess something else I'll mention in my SPL shoutout as well, but I spent a ton of time studying up my matchups and making sure I was adequately prepared every week except Week 2 and Week 8 when life got way too busy for me to play a lot. I was given some (deserved) crap about not being dedicated and having the wrong mindset before the season, and I worked hard to correct that. I guess 6-5 doesn't show exactly what I had hoped for, but I felt I was in every single loss until the end except the one vs Vinc, and didn't really heavily luck a win this year. Especially this last week, I probably spend about 15-20 hours studying Finally's teams, noting weaknesses, testing counterplay options on cores, and seeing what I could do to improvise before stumbling upon kom feeding me a concept I liked enough to take to the game that didn't have similar weakness patterns to most other things I used this year.
