Congregation of the Classiest

Piyu / DJ Breloominati
Possibly one of the weakest ORAS slots in this tour, especially considering that almost every other team has a clear main ORAS player. I’m honestly surprised they didn’t go with DJ over Piyu — DJ has had solid performances in Masters and has even played Invitational play-ins before.
Piyu is a great clicker, no doubt, but he hasn’t been very active in the tier and could be at a disadvantage against most of the field. The team also has London Beats as a sub option who can jump in if the slot doesn't get the no. of wins it should

Circus Maximus Tigers

Noname6293 / Zaza
The prodigy finally gets to play SPL in his best tier. While he doesn’t really have much support in this slot, I still think he can pick up wins. He’ll probably be passed teams by friends, and hopefully those builds are more up-to-date. Definitely an interesting slot to watch.

Wi-Fi Wolfpack

Persephone / kingofking / gondra
Persephone is back in SPL, this time with support from the young rookie kingofking and the experienced gondra. Persephone’s Invitational run ended in a rather disappointing way — between the hax and everything else (might’ve been Ladder Tour, not fully sure). Either way, I’m looking forward to seeing how this slot performs.

Dragonspiral Tyrants

Poek / blazingdark / tenebricite / ABR / blunder
Veteran ORAS player Poek finds himself on the Tyrants once again, but this time with strong support from ABR and tenebricite. Tenebricite had a great showing in the ORAS Invitational, beating several top players, and can also sub in if needed. Add blunder (and possibly CTC) to the mix, and this is a very well-supported slot.

Indie Scooters

Ox the Fox / BluBird / DugZa
Coming off a very impressive Invitational performance and winning it all through the winners’ bracket, Ox is easily one of the hottest players to watch this SPL. He’s joined by BluBird, who’s known for building solid (and sometimes weird) teams, making this a really fun duo to follow. Excited to see what they cook up.

Stark Sharks

Santu
One of the greatest ORAS players finds himself with the Sharks this time. He doesn’t really have much support compared to last SPL, where he had ABR backing him, which could make things tougher. Still, I fully expect him to give everyone a serious run for their money.

Team Raiders

Ruffles / Mannat
Ruffles has quietly been building a name for himself and after a strong debut SPL and a good showing in the World Cup he is one to look out for (coming from a fresh win in OUPL as well), he is also a past invitational winner. This time he’s paired with Mannat, who I’ve teamed with before and can confidently say is a solid support option. Expect some wild and creative builds from these two.

Alpha Ruiners

pj / metallica / devin / acr1 (+ empo)
I rate this team very highly purely because of the insane amount of support. PJ is basically an SPL regular at this point and has an Invitational win under his belt. With metallica, devin, acr1, and empo, that’s four people providing support. That’s a massive advantage not just in ORAS, but also in other fairy gens like SM, SS, and SV.

Ever Grande BIGS

xray / vulpix03
Xray returns to SPL with the BIGS after going for a pretty high price. That alone might motivate him to really put in the work both in prep and building. He’s supported by vulpix, a former ORAS mod and SPL manager, which should help stabilize the slot nicely.

Cryonicles

c0mp / zokuru
Probably the hottest player to look out for this SPL. Fresh off winning ORAS Ladder Tour, finishing second in ORAS Invitational, and recently won Masters (which includes ORAS OU), it’s safe to say c0mp is in top form. He could very well end up with the best record in the tour.

Overall, I think the ORAS pool this year is way too stacked, even without players like Lusa and CBB. One player who absolutely deserved a spot this year is lighthouses, and it’s genuinely sad to see him go unpicked.

Wishing everyone a great SPL and good luck representing your teams. Hopefully more people post throughout the tour and keep the thread active. As always this was a fun post and was not intended to hurt anyone's feelings, please don't take it personally.

i personally dont buy the 'santu is only good with abr' narrative and think hes poised to get like 7 wins, also worth nothing id add obii and deej as oras support for him in the sharks.

noname is gonna be interesting to watch as he pretty much only uses ruffles teams, wonder if he will stick to reusing those or maybe all of them will help eachother on weeks where they arent paired against one another? tough to gauge how nonames feeling before watching a couple games but off of skill alone he should be good for at least 5 wins

comp is the only one in the pool other than santu i feel like can reasonably make a claim for #1 and he is (in theory) going to be much more loose in the teambuilder than santu, id argue santus got more support than comp does like i mentioned before(zoks gonna spend all ssn complaining about 'these kids' using mono plume tran and suggesting stall). i think comps another contender for 7 wins

ruffles had a mostly positive showing last year and has some really impressive wcop games under his belt, this + being on top of meta trends and whatnot makes me think he should have a similar season to last year if not better

xray i really have no real idea how he will do, one has to imagine he gets at least 6 wins here but the fact he hasnt been playing + that commencement post makes me a bit doubtful. all that being said mons is mons and xray is the only one close to santu in all time oras record in this tournament for a reason

ox has the most momentum out of anyone here coming into this tour, having just won oras invitational in somewhat a dominant fashion + having blubird support. if i were to actually do a power rankings id rank him in the top 4 probably but i also think he has the most potential to grab some absurd 9 win season, even more than santu.

i think classiest just didnt really care about oras this draft, no clue what to expect but well see what we see. everyone here is a good player and the tournament is best of 1, i wouldnt underestimate this slot but yea need to see some games first

pj is a good player with omega oras support in his team, not much to say here should do fine

dont actually know who -should- start between pers and kingofking i think both are good players but they have a bit of a mountain to climb here in this tough oras pool this year, interested to see

poek is poek, solid as hell, somehow went for like 3.5k and has abr support. if he doesnt decide to load screens cheese every week he will do well for sure

glhf everyone as i silently judge from the sidelines

2025 ORAS Recap
Wanted to make a post like this for a while now about up and coming players, but was waiting on the SPL auction for many reasons. I don't know where else to put this but here. This is NOT an official post from the mod ruffles, but the player ruffles and this is subjective.

I'm putting in noteable players, ordered. Although this is subjective, I'm mainly basing this on their performance in tours. I'm obviously not gonna mention players that are already known greats like c0mp and Noname

Incredible Potential - this category is for those who improved a ton in the past 2 years, always do great in side tours, and could very well have been SPL starters.
lighthouses - Diogo shouldn't even be here because he did a solid 5-4 performance in SPL last year, something not easy to do at all. Not to mention, I genuinely think he has gotten so much better in the last year that he could go 5-4 again despite the harder pool. Again shouldn't even be here but he got snubbed so I need to emphasize him here.
Paprikaflow - Paprika went 2-2 last SPL and 1-2 in WCoP, but his WCoP pool contained Santu, me, and Tenebricite, which was the notorious death pool. He is genuinely consistent and a solid player, not to mention a bench goat. Another snub.
Savouras - Although a tad behind the above two in terms of consistency, he has genuinely improved so much last year and put up great results. To not even be bought as a 3k sub is wild.
Destro16 - Destro is a tad above the two below just because I've seen him put up more consistent numbers including top players. I definitely think he's a future SPL starter if he keeps the trend uptick
BluBirD & Always! - these two players might as well be the best builders in this category, but have been less consistent in play. I grouped them cuz they have the same story. By far the most potential, but need more results.

Of note - all these players are surprisingly both builders and players. Although building is not necessary (c0mp and Noname don't build much), I think it is incredibly refreshing to see more consistent builders in the community. I love the competition.

Inconsistently Great - this category is for players who have really high highs, like competing at the very top level and even sometimes beating top players, but they also find themselves occasionally losing to players worse than them.
HSK7 - His results are undeniable and he silenced the haters, truly. Obviously not better than ABR that was crazy but I like the confidence. Very close to the category above.
BlazingDark - another solid player that has beaten many good players including me, but can often tilt or make some mistakes causing him to lose to lower players. He has very good intuition in figuring out whats teams are OP in the meta and bringing them (fellow sand ho enjoyer).
kingofking - King is a solid player all around and as I used to coach him, I know very well of his potential. He is inconsistent both in his plays and motivation, but definitely has the skills in both builder and in game.
devin - Devin is a great example of this because he genuinely has the potential to beat anyone, and does, but often also loses to lesser players due to making small mistakes in the game or just not giving a fuck and loading wild teams

Of note - all these players can rise to the above category if they fix up their small problems and round their edges.

Consistently Good - this category is for players who are really good at farming players that are worse than them, but struggle to win against solid players like SPL starters or in the first category of this post.
Tenebricite - He is better in SM, but his ORAS is still quite good. He is a prime example of this because he did go 0-3 in the wcop death pool of me paprika santu, but he also consistently puts up stellar records in side tours
White Atoq - Another good example if you look at ORASPL/OUPL, great numbers farming lower players, but goes back and forth with good players like Noname and Metallica
Hacker - Hacker is not known for his ORAS but this year he definitely put up a really solid performance. I was impressed by his pilot, winning even bad mu's.
kiru - Roxie doesn't play ORAS all year then randomly comes in for ORASPL, goes 6-1, then disappears lmao. Wish we got more of them which I'm sure we will.
Seasons - Seasons is another one here that fits this. He is definitely in the above category or even incredible potential but is not super motivated/focused on other things which is totally fine, but if he gets serious again it will be fun to watch.

Of note - most people here would be in the above category if they dedicated more time and effort to ORAS I genuinely think that.

Need More Data, But I See You - This category is for players who are still in a very early stage of a possible solid ORAS career. They had moments of solid game but need to put more results/time/effort.
awyp - Good player and always a solid wild card. Glad he's been playing more instead of just managing/benching and getting drafted more. Definitely looking forward to seeing more.
Typical_bastard - Another person I used to coach and although I might be a bit biased, definitely has potential but you need more effort fam
Larpcord (imperial/sna/zyran/thajester) - did better than i expected in invitational and farm tours. Looking forward to seeing more

Cheers, everyone!

Appreciate the kind words, last year i didnt dm managers cuz i feel like a bitch askin to play instead of being asked. This time i did DM saying what i have played this year aka this exact message:
"top 4 invitational 2 years now, qualified oras lt, finals oraspl
smasters lost last round but i was undefeated in oras all 9 weeks"
I had more side tours like spanish type PLs with great oras runs that i didnt mention but basically every tour i played this year went pretty well.

Didnt work ofc, people had other plans. Was surprised tbh cuz i had alot of friends managers that knew how i was building or helping them in various worldcup teams, OUPL or managers that i played SPL before and did pretty well in SV but ay It is what it is next year better records then maybe ill get the ORAS SPL i want.
