What is the SPL XVII Predictions Contest?
The SPL XVII Predictions Contest is a chance for spectators to participate in SPL by choosing who they think the favorite for every matchup is, with a chance to win a cash prize each week and a much bigger grand prize at the end.
How do I participate?
Every week, a form will be posted in this thread containing the week's matchups. Participants will have until Tuesday at 11:59 PM GMT -5 to fill out their predictions, at which point the form will close to make way for early week games.
What if a game is played early/a matchup changes?
A game played before the 48 hour window closes will be voided on all predictions and not worth any points. Similarly, any matchup that is changed through players being substituted out will also be voided on all predictions and not worth any points.
What about tiebreak games?
Tiebreak games will be voted on and counted towards a participant's overall total, but tiebreak weeks will not be eligible for weekly cash prizes.
Do I have to vote every week?
No, you can participate as much or as little as you'd like, but we highly recommend those aiming for the grand prize participate as much as possible.
How can I keep track of my progress?
There will be a leaderboard for participants posted here, made possible the lovely Ticken.
What are the prizes?
Each week, the player with the highest total correct predictions for that week only will receive a small cash prize to be paid out in bulk at the conclusion of SPL. At the end of the tournament, the participant with the highest overall point total will win a grand prize. In the event of a tie between participants, the prize pool will be split evenly among all winners. All prizes are subject to change in the case of future donations, and are TBD atm.
