What type of bug are you reporting? Teambuilder

What is the bug?
Sprites for Pokemon with genders differences do not appear in certain places on the teambuilder.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Obvious examples include Jellicent and Pyroar. Indeedee is an example of one that would not be included, since it's a distinct form.

Every Pokémon before Combusken in National Dex order won't display the female sprites even though they exist. Eevee-Starter and some CAP mons have the same issue.

The following sprites are completely missing:
  • Shiny Dex sprites for Icy Snow Pattern Vivillon, Marshadow, and the Minior core colors besides red
  • Unown letters besides A before Gen 5
  • Shiny Alolan Raticate, Silvally-Rock, Xurkitree, Toxtricity (Amped), and Falinks animated Gen 5 front sprites
  • Shiny female Snover back model
  • Static Gen 5 back sprites for female Abomasnow
  • All sprites for Toxtricity-Low-Key-Gmax (identical to Amped G-Max form)
Shiny Popplio's Dex image doesn't display because it's misnamed "poppolio.png"

Magearna uses the shiny Dex sprite of Magearna-Original, who has no Dex sprite of its own.

These shiny sprites use their normal colors:
  • Dex images for Lycanroc-Dusk, Necrozma-Dusk-Mane and Necrozma-Ultra
  • Gen 3 Castform sprites
  • Pangoro animated Gen 5 sprites
  • Ultra Necrozma April Fool's Day sprites
Shiny Slugma's Gen 2 and 3 backsprites lack proper transparency.
The following Gen 5 animated sprites are cropped too close, causing them to be sized badly:

  • Wooloo, Toxel, and Snom: Both back sprites, shiny front
  • Yamper: regular back
  • Hatenna and Milcery: shiny front
  • Both front sprites for Alcremie (Vanilla Cream, Ruby Cream, Ruby Swirl)
Glameow should use its Gen 7 model with corrected ears for modern graphics. Project Pokémon has animated GIFs of its new model (https://projectpokemon.org/home/docs/spriteindex_148/3d-models-generation-4-pokémon-r93/) as well as the Isle of Armor Gigantamax Pokémon (https://projectpokemon.org/home/docs/spriteindex_148/3d-models-generation-8-pokémon-r123/)

More sprite issues:
  • All new Pokemon introduced in DLC2 do not have dex sprites.
  • All Alcremie formes, Galarian formes, and most other Pokemon from Gen 8 do not have dex sprites.
  • Gen 4 female Garchomp back missing (it's identical to the male backsprite, just needs duplicated)
  • Gen 4 female Bibarel back missing (it's identical to the male backsprite, just needs duplicated)
  • The dex and dex-shiny sprites for Zeraora are different sizes (the PNG dimensions are the same, but the two images are not the same size)
  • Mega Scizor's front and back animated sprites have transparent eyes on its pincers, instead of blue.
  • Togedemaru's animated back and back-shiny sprites are at noticeably different angles.
  • Gmax Alcremie defaults to regular Alcremie's animated sprite when the user is not the default Alcremie (replay).
  • Mega Mawile's dex and dex-shiny sprites are off-center.
  • Lycanroc-Dusk's dex-shiny sprite is identical to its dex sprite.
  • Totem Kommo-o's front and shiny front sprite have typos of kommo-o-totem, which causes them to not display (replay).
  • The dex sprites for the various cosplay Pikachu do not exist (there is one for -cosplay). There are no dex-shiny sprites for the various cosplay or partner Pikachu.
  • Missing dex-shiny sprite for Magearna-Original. Missing ani-shiny sprite for regular Magearna (regular Magearna did not have a Shiny sprite in Gen 7, but it does in Gen 8/9).
  • The ???-type does not play correctly when using Burn Up or Double Shock (details)
  • Necrozma-Dusk-Mane's dex-shiny is the same as its dex sprite.
  • Stakataka's dex and dex-shiny sprites are at noticeably different angles.
  • Vivillion is missing gen5 sprites for most of its forms.
  • Pichu-Spiky-Eared is missing back sprites in gen5 and gen6. Obviously it did not exist in those formats, but we do something similar for the pokestar Pokemon.
  • Toxtricity-Low-Key-Gmax is missing gen5back sprite.
  • Furfrou has no gen5 or gen5back for its various sprites.
  • Male Frillish back-shiny ani is noticeably different than just back ani.
  • Artcovish's ani sprite has a red stretch across the top of its head when it should be blue.
  • Arceus's gen5ani Shiny sprite is identical to its regular sprite.
  • Passimian's ani back Shiny sprite is identical to its regular back sprite.

Several sprite files that I noticed can be deleted off the server:

What is the bug? The wings on Phermosa's sprites should be white and transparent, but are transparent and blue (possibly due to the battle field background?) Replay

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?

Okay I fixed almost everything in this thread except the stuff that isn't possible to do within a few minutes or requires assets that actually don't currently exist.

Going forward, if you're going to submit any kind of sprite issue, please make the distinction between an issue with the actual image, or an issue with the client in its ability to display the sprite. For example, the Mega Mawile dex sprites are from the game; being off center is by design and if you want them to look better in the teambuilder then the teambuilder is the thing that needs adjusting. I believe Garchomp or Mega Garchomp already have their positioning tweaked in the client so look for that if you're interested in fixing it.

Also for whole lists of grievances, please organize them in terms of which directory(ies) is affected, and link the directory you expect to find a sprite that is incorrect or missing. The only reason I know what is being said is because I'm familiar with the structure, but some other admin might not be and it's a time sink to guess where these issues are.

What is the bug?
Zamazenta-Crowned sprite has a slightly off shiny in the team builder

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Open Teambuilder, get Zamazenta-Crowned. If you switch between the shiny and non-shiny, it will move a bit left and down (I think 1 or 2 pixels). In addition, some of the tufts of fur on its back are inconsistent between the two.

What is the bug?
Blacephalon's front 2D sprite is displayed much lower than it should be in battle.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Just battle against Blacephalon with 2d sprites enabled.

Chesnaught's 2D shiny sprites are broken in battle.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Battle with or against shiny Chesnaught. The attached screenshot was taken in the NatDex Draft format.

What is the bug?
Mega Metagross's 2D sprite will not appear as shiny, even if the base form is shiny.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Turn on 2D sprites, load into any match and use mega metagross. Upon mega-evolving, the sprite will no longer be shiny. Other possibly relevant things: the issue is not present with 3D models; the issue persists even as a spectator; the issue only appears when mega metagross is on the side of the primary player. Attached are screenshots demonstrating the issue.

Sprite issues of variating fix needs.
  1. Tyrunt Front animated has 4 frames that have missing pixels and any duplication of that frame have them as well. ( List of frame location can be provided to save time )
  2. Mega Tyranitar back animated has 53 frames out of 102 were pixels are missing in the neck area. ( List of frame location can be provided to save time )
  3. fletchling back shiny sprite is wrong since its not shiny colored just yellow on the wing's white spot.
  4. Why does all Vivillon patterns Front animation from Vivillon Icy Snow have 255 colors Indexed when it doesnt need it. the fix is about 10s using Aseprite. ( going from index mode to RGB color then going to create new palette from sprite will save only colors used for the sprite and keep the mapping/index when switching back to Index mode after.
Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
100% consistency since its apart of the gif saved in the Gen 6 sprite project docs. will remain that way until its fix and the links are swapped out.

- Also using Aseprite by duplicating layer then going into layer Properties then selecting difference will make the sprite black and any missing pixels stick out like a sore thumb. this way you can write down which have them take note then hit ctrl z 2 times and fix them.

What is the bug?
Shiny Oricorio-Baile does not have a shiny palette; also, it's far larger than the backsprite for a non-shiny Oricorio-Baile. Alongside that, all the other Oricorio shiny backsprites are earlier versions of their current backsprite and have various errors in poses.

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Just battle using a Shiny Oricorio-Baile with 2D sprites enabled (or use a Oricorio-Baile shiny next to a normal one in a custom double battle). Also, the sprite is visible here: https://dex.pokemonshowdown.com/pokemon/oricorio.

What is the bug?
Someone brought up in Help earlier today that Passimian would irregularly show its shiny sprite.
The cause I identified is that its front animation is shiny and correct, whereas the back has an uploaded file, but it isn't shiny. This causes the server to think Passimian is shiny, when visually, it is not.

https://play.pokemonshowdown.com/sprites/ani-back-shiny/passimian.gif

Are you able to replicate it? If so, how?
Select Passimian in teambuilder.
Have "Use 2D sprites instead of 3D models" left unchecked.
In the teambuilder, nothing should be wrong.
Go into a battle.
Send out passimian.
As seen, passimian will not be shiny.

Alternatively,
See the link as posted above.
