Yo guys my name is Ben Ohver and I'm seriously terrible at competitive Pokemon. This is a team I brought to the first two games of PSPL, and I'm glad to say I didn't lose both of them (hax helps, sorry Arifeen). I built this team around the lord Skuntank because I love using it to take on Reuniclus. Half my team is dedicated to check Noivern, from my own, to Glalie, to Magneton. This is more of a Hyper Offensive team with a bunch of threats piled on with good reason. Let's just get onto the team:

435.png

I started off with my main man Skuntank to take on Reuniclus who actually put in a lot of work either dodging Head Smashes, Hurricanes, and Focus Blasts as well as saving the game, killing off opposing Pokemon, Taunting opposing Pokemon, or Defogging away hazards. Gasquakee downloaded.

I added Virizion as a way to take on Ground-type Pokemon such as Rhyperior and Steelix which can screw over Skuntank, as well as using it as a powerful and effective set up sweeper. Tree with Mind downloaded.

I needed Entry Hazards, so I added Mesprit to my team to keep up an offensive pace and due to Healing Wish. Hazard setter downloaded.

From what I've seen, the best way to counteract opposing Noivern is to bring your own. Noivern outspeeds most of the metagame as well as dropping bombs on sticky foreigners. Least accurate Pokemon I've ever seen, but I've still come to love it. Noivern check 1 downloaded.

Glalie is such a great Pokemon in the tier with the Refridgerate boost and access to priority to Ice Shard as well as Freeze-Dry to take on bulky waters. How could I pass it down? Noivern check 2 downloaded.

Magneton is pretty solid and creates a Voltturn core with Noivern. It also can trap in Steel-types such as Durant and do massive damage. Magnet Pull downloaded.

Since Noivern was banned, I substituted my own for a Flygon, as well as shifting my Virizion's set from Swords Dance to Calm Mind.

Unfortunatly, after the ban of Reuniclus, Skuntank lost most reason to be on the team in general. Spritomb filled the spot, and added something to take on Gallade and Medicahm as well as adding a Spinblocker and Pursuit Trapper.

The Bog of Eternal Stench

Spiritomb @
blackglasses.png

Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt

Spiritomb is a pretty solid Pokemon in the tier, which can burn Physical Attackers as well as Taunt Pokemon attempting to set up or use a status move. Spiritomb also has a surprisingly good offensive presence and is similar to the job Skuntank was doing on the team but with a lack of Defog or Punishment, but gaining the ability to take on Gallade and Medicham better. Spiritomb can Pursuit trap foes and weaken them, allowing Virizion, Flygon, or Glalie to clean up.

The Hammerhead Tree

Virizion @
lifeorb.png

Ability: Justified
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Giga Drain
- Focus Blast
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Virizion is such a great Pokemon in the tier with access to Calm Mind and Grass / Fighting type coverage. Life Orb allows Virizion to deal solid damage on a foe, while Calm Mind allows Virizion to become a real threat, when it boosts its Special Attack and Defense. Giga Drain and Focus Blast can be deadly moves with STAB, while Hidden Power Fire takes on Steel-types such as Escavelier or Durant.

The Pink Levitating Smurf

Mesprit @
colburberry.png

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Ice Beam
- Healing Wish
- Stealth Rock

This is a standard Offensive Lead Mesprit with Stealth Rock, as well as supplying Healing Wish to heal back a teammate during late-game. Colbur Berry allows it to take Dark-type moves such as a +2 Drapion's Knock Off among others. Psychic and Ice Beam form a decent attacking set which gets neutral on Pokemon bar Steel-types for the most part. Levitate allows it to switch in on Pokemon locked into Ground-type moves among other things.

The Backup Dragon
flygon.gif

Flygon @
choiceband.png

Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- U-turn

With Noivern being banned, Flygon seemed like one of the only decent replacements to take its spot. While it does end up lacking the Speed and Special Attacking prowess of Noivern, it still has a decent Speed tier, access to U-turn and powerful STAB moves. With a Choice Band, Flygon can deal absurd damage against a foe as well as blocking most of its resistances.

The Titanic Sinker

glalie-mega.gif

Glalie @
glalitite.png

Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Double-Edge
- Freeze-Dry
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard

Glalie is a monster in the tier who can take on Steel- and Rock-types with Earthquake as well as Bulky Water-types with Freeze Dry. Glalie can take on its "checks" and deal massive damage against Pokemon who resist it with a Refridgerate Double-Edge. In combination with Ice Shard, Glalie can take on threats such as Noivern and Flygon without worrying about being outsped. Glalie takes the form as a revenge killer and late-game cleaner on my team.

The Oh Baby A Triple

magneton.gif

Magneton @
choicescarf.png

Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Flash Cannon
- Thunderbolt

Magneton fits very well on this team and for good reason. It traps Steel-types and weakens them down for its teammates as well as providing momentum with Volt Switch. Flash Cannon can deal solid amounts of damage to Rock- and Ice-types, as well as do neutrally on Ground-types. With a Choice Scarf, Magneton was able to outpace and deal heavy damage to Noivern and other threats.

: Medicham and Gallade can rip right through this team with nothing there to switch in bar Spiritomb.

The Bat Who Needs Glasses
noivern.gif
<- I got banned
Noivern @ Life Orb
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Draco Meteor
- U-turn

For the most part, Noivern is blind as a bat. It tends to miss a lot, but when it connects it creates huge damage upon a foe. Whereas most people would choose Switcheroo in the last slot, I opted for U-turn to allow for momentum. Hurricane and Draco Meteor form the unconsistant, but insanely powerful dual STAB coverage, and Flamethrower is for Steel-types (Should I run Focus Blast instead?). Noivern can hit through Substitute and Screens, dealing massive damage to a foe regardless. That is if it doesn't miss. (inb4 it gets banned)

The Stink
435.gif

Skuntank @ Black Sludge
Ability: Aftermath
EVs: 64 HP / 132 Atk / 252 SpD / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Defog
- Punishment
- Sucker Punch
- Taunt

This Skuntank set may look as funky as it smells, and that would be a correct assumption. The given Speed allows it to outpace up to Golbat, and Taunt it before it can Roost. The HP and SpD investment allows Skuntank to take around 50% from a +1 4 SpA Focus Blast from Reuniclus. Defog removes entry hazards, which ail my team. Punishment is mainly for Calm Mind users such as Reuniclus, Meloetta, and Delphox, while Sucker Punch can hit opponents hard and quickly.

I'm also going to take the time to use this as my 200th Post so I'll do a few shout-outs some peeps.

It's funny because reuni and noivern were banned today
You could try a sigilyph over noivern but you're already outdated, both with running noivern and needing skuntank purely for reuni

Hi BenOhver just two little suggestions, give Hidden Power Ice over Fire to Virizion, this allow you to hit flying type and things like Amoonguss harder and you don't really need hp fire because you have magnezone to damage enough Durant and Escavalier. Also on Mesprit you could put Dazzling Gleam over Ice Beam so you'll be able to hit dark type like Spiritomb and you don't really need Ice Beam. The last suggestion I have is Spikes over Freeze Dry on Glalie this allow you to put more pression to the opponent team.
I hope this was useful!

I really wouldn't recommend HP Ice Virizion especially since it loses to nearly every viable flying type even with HP Ice. Off the top of my head, Braviary (which is sadly most commonly scarfed) and Fletchinder both out speed. Togetic is the only flying type I could see this ever working against, and even then you can still beat this 1v1 with Giga Drain baring crits as well as have Magneton and Glalie as checks. If you're really that afraid of Togetic, Banded Iron Tail or Stone Edge 2hko's after rocks from Flygon.

spiritomb virizion mesprit glalie flygon magneton

First thing i notice looking at your team is that you are pretty weak to Dragon Dance Scrafty with Shed Skin (imo one of the better sets especially with resist berries or even Life Orb since 4 of your Pokemon die from a +1 move and Mesprit and Spiritomb can't do much back (you could argue that Volt Switch from Magneton into Spiritomb to take the HJK is a possibility but you do not want to bank on that at all since you lack a solid Dark resist (most Dark-types in RU /can/ win against it 1v1 bar Spiritomb considering your set). The second weakness i can see is a big one to LO Sneasel since it outspeeds everything on your team but Magneton and can OHKO or 2HKO everything with Knock Off and Icicle Crash (Low Kick OHKOS Mega Glalie) and really you have to tank a hit with very healthy Spiritomb or force it out with Magneton to beat it. A partial solution to that is clearly Dazzling Gleam > Ice Beam on Mesprit since you still get to hit Flygon which is one of the better hazards remover and struggle less vs Dark-types (and take advantage of the Colbur Berry).

You also lack any switch in against opposing Mega Steelix and a way to remove hazards (Spikes are a little annoying if paired with Pokemon that can force a majority of Pokemon out like Sneasel) and against leads you pretty much get quite stacked on so i am suggesting Defog bulky Flygon over your CB set. You don't really need wallbreaking power in addition to Glalie in my opinion and having a decent Steelix check as well as a switch in for Pokemon that annoy Magneton (Rhyperior for example) is pretty nice in my opinion.
