[OVERVIEW]
Despite certain unique traits it possesses like its Normal / Psychic typing and its decent bulk, Oranguru finds itself outclassed by other setup Psychic-types like Jynx, Uxie, and Galarian Rapidash, due to these Pokemon having better traits such as a higher Speed stat or more immediate power.

Oranguru is able to make use of its decent defensive stats thanks to Substitute, which can protect it from status, letting it set up more freely with Nasty Plot. Unfortunately, Oranguru's low Speed and initial power, combined with the lack of reliable recovery, mean that it can be stopped easily before inflicting too much damage. It is also outclassed by other Psychic-type setup users like Jynx, Galarian Rapidash, and Uxie, which are either faster, have reliable recovery, or have more initial power.
