The mission statement of Sample Teams is to deliver structurally sound and simple to use teams, of every metagame relevant archetype to enable newer players to get into the tier. Everyone is welcome to submit sample teams they wish to contribute to the thread which will be evaluated by the Viability Rankings council, to ensure they meet the qualities and criteria in order to be a sample team.

  • Please post a brief description along with your submitted sample team that justifies the team members/general structure and a explanation in how players use the team and its general purpose.
  • Please only submit 1 team per post, only the first team of your post will be reviewed and others will be ignored.
  • Personal speed creeps will be removed from Sample teams, and adjusted to standardised spreads or the relevant benchmark.

Sample Teams

1. Volcarona Balance
by TrueNora edited by Terracotta
:Volcarona::Eternatus::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Rotom-Wash::Ditto::Blissey:

This team features one of the most potent Dynamax abusers, Volcarona, which can easily clean up late game once its checks such as Blissey/Chansey and Tyranitar have been weakened. Eternatus acts as a blanket check to many pokemon that threaten the team otherwise such as Dracovish and Marshadow. Necrozma-Dusk-Mane is the Zacian-Crowned and Kyurem-Black check for the team and provides utility with Thunder Wave. Rotom-Wash complements the defensive core so far by checking sweepers such as Gyarados, Drednaw, and Excadrill while providing momentum with Volt Switch and utility with Thunder Wave. Ditto helps the team’s matchup against Hyper Offense and eases the team’s otherwise passivity outside of Volcarona. Finally, Blissey is the team’s special wall and Stealth Rocker. Some notable other options include running Cosmic Power on Eternatus to improve the rain matchup and Bug Buzz on Volcarona for a bigger hit on Tyranitar.

2. Gothitelle Sand Offense by Manaphy edited by TrueNora
:Tyranitar::Excadrill::Gothitelle::Corviknight::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned:

This team is built around the potent offensive duo of Zacian-Crowned and Excadrill, as these two Pokemon can easily sweep once their shared checks such as Corviknight, Skarmory, and Quagsire are weakened. The combination of Gothitelle and Toxic Spikes Eternatus compliments this offensive core very well. Quagsire running Heavy-Duty Boots gets trapped, whereas Shed Shell Quagsire is vulnerable to Toxic Spikes, not to mention that Gothitelle traps Corviknight and Skarmory, OHKOing the later if Sturdy is broken. Gothitelle also traps opposing Eternatus, allowing Toxic Spikes to stay on the field. It also reduces the pressure on Tyranitar to check Eternatus. Tyranitar is the general special defensive check and provides sand for Excadrill and Stealth Rock. Fire Blast on Tyranitar allows it to lure and 2HKO Ferrothorn, which can otherwise be a nuisance for the team. Corviknight is chosen to round off the team, checking opposing Zacian-C and Excadrill, keeping hazards away, and U-Turning for momentum, which is especially helpful for getting Gothitelle in safely. Bulky Payapa Eternatus and Agility Zacian-C with defensive investment are chosen so that the team has better answers to offensive threats like Dracovish, Kyurem-Black, and Mewtwo.

3. Dracovish Rain by DNNP edited by TrueNora
:Pelipper::Drednaw-Gmax::Dracovish::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane:

This team is built around abusing Dracovish’s insanely powerful rain boosted Fishous Rends to break holes in the opposing team for its teammates to take advantage of. Pelipper is the obligatory rain setter and is EVed to always live a Lunala’s Specs Moongeist Beam from full, allowing it to U-Turn out. Drednaw acts as the team’s Stealth Rocker with its Gigantamax form’s G-max Stonesurge. It is also a cleaner and revenge killer for the team. Eternatus acts as a blanket to a variety of threats, notably opposing Dracovish and Marshadow while soft checking Dragon Dance Dragapult thanks to Haban Berry. Agility Zacian-Crowned provides a secondary cleaner for the team and eases the matchup against opposing rain and sand teams. Necrozma-Dusk-Mane is the team’s defensive Zacian-Crowned and Kyurem-Black check and is EV’d to live a Specs Moongeist Beam from full in a pinch. Some notable other options include running Utility Umbrella on Eternatus to improve the matchup versus opposing Dracovish, Body Slam on Dracovish to fish for Paralysis versus Eternatus, and 32 speed on Necrozma-Dusk-Mane to speed creep Paralyzed Adamant Zacian-Crowned.

4. Screens HO by Terracotta edited by Manaphy
:Mew::Grimmsnarl::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Gyarados::Zacian-Crowned::Kyurem-Black:

Hyper Offense Screens has been one of the most consistent team structures of the current metagame for a good reason, as screens offer the user a lot of flexibility, allowing your sweepers to set-up with greater ease while making them much harder for the opposing team to revenge kill. It is also relatively easy to use. Mew and Grimmsnarl form the support core, with Mew as your usual lead, which is able to quickly set-up hazards, prevent opposing hazards, and explode to keep up momentum. Zacian-Crowned and Dragon Dance Necrozma-Dusk-Mane are strong offensive picks that don't compete for the Dynamax slot while checking a good amount of Pokemon. For example, Zacian-Crowned acts as an offensive check to Lunala, while Necrozma-Dusk-Mane checks opposing Zacian-Crowned. Gyarados is able to check Volcarona and is extremely threatening with Dynamax, being able to quickly steamroll teams with the combination of Moxie and Max Airstream boosts. Kyurem-Black provides the team with a switch-in to Dracovish’s Fishous Rend and is another terrifyingly effective Dynamax sweeper. All of these offensive threats are physical, and as such, you can focus on pressuring the opposing team's physical checks like Necrozma-Dusk-Mane. Since this team has two Pokemon that can abuse Dynamax, you can choose the one that is most suitable for sweeping the other team. A notable other option is running Mental Herb on Mew to help with the matchup vs opposing HO, allowing you to taunt their lead safely.

5. Sun Offense by Skysolo edited by TrueNora and Manaphy
:Torkoal::Venusaur::Mandibuzz::Zacian-Crowned::Eternatus::Charizard-Gmax:

This team is centered around Gigantamax Charizard, and the team’s other offensive options are designed to support it. Gigantamax Charizard is great against offense, a good late game cleaner, and a fantastic wallbreaker under the sun thanks to Solar Power. Notably, it is able to 2HKO targets such as Blissey and Chansey and OHKO Eternatus under sun. Torkoal provides Stealth Rock and sun support and punishes switchins and set up attempts with Yawn. Mandibuzz is the special defensive backbone of the team, providing a defensive pivot against Pokemon like Eternatus and Lunala as well as providing hazard removal in Defog. Venusaur acts as a secondary sun abuser and late game cleaner/sweeper. Choice Scarf Eternatus provides an offensive revenge killer and Dynamax check against threats such as Kyurem Black and Adamant Dragapult after a single Dragon Dance, Adamant Excadrill under sand, Zacian-Crowned, and Kingdra under rain. Zacian-Crowned rounds off the team, being a great wallbreaker that appreciates sun allowing it to deal with its two main defensive checks, Quagsire and Necrozma- Dusk Mane, OHKOing the former with Solar Blade and having a chance to 2HKO the latter with Fire Fang.

6. Dragapult Balance by Icemaster edited by TrueNora
:Dragapult::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Skarmory::Blissey::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned:

A Spike stacking balance team based around Dragapult. Dragapult has limited defensive counterplay, especially with its Dynamax Ghost STAB dropping defense; and it is also threatening against Offense thanks to its high speed tier and Infiltrator allowing it to bypass Screens. Substitute eases prediction and let’s Dragapult avoid status and set up more easily on more passive Pokemon. Eternatus acts as a blanket check to many pokemon that threaten the team otherwise such as Dracovish and Marshadow. Necrozma-Dusk-Mane is the Zacian-Crowned and Kyurem-Black check for the team and provides utility with Thunder Wave and Stealth Rock support. Skarmory provides the previously mentioned Spikes and provides a ground immunity and Excadrill check. Zacian-Crowned provides a secondary breaker and appreciates Dragapult’s ability to force defensive Dynamax uses and also pressures Dragapult’s best answer, Mandibuzz. Finally, Blissey is the team’s special wall.

The goal of this team is to overwhelm the opponent with cosmic power Eternatus. In order for this goal to be achieved. Checks to this pokemon need to be eliminated from play.
Zacian, while inferior to its counterpart, Zacian-Crowned is able to hold items that are not Rusted Sword. So I decided to use a lure set I have not seen used before. I introduce power herb solar blade Zacian. The goal of this set is to Lure pokemon like Quagsire, Hippowdown, Seismitoad and eliminate them from play.
Choice Scarf Darmanitan-G serves serves as a pivot, and potential revenge killer that is able to help eliminate Corviknight, Eternatus, and revenge kill faster threats like Zacian. As well as outspeeding Dynamaxed Ditto thanks to the effects of choice scarf being lost.
I opted for a near Max HP, and Max speed Eternatus to grant as much bulk as possible while still retaining the 394 speed. The set lacks Dragon STAB so you can take on opposing dittos that would otherwise triumph if Dynamax Cannon was on the set.

Corviknight serves as a forme of hazard control, as well as a pivot, and a check to Zacian (lacking wild charge/ fire fang.)

Zamazenta-Crowned is able to serve as a response to Galarian corsola by using substitute to avoid will O wisp and proceed to set up, and weaken corsola. Staying behind a substitute also prevents ditto from transforming. Leaving it vulnerable.

Seismitoad serves as a rocker, and a check to tyranitar, which is problematic for eternatus.

Dragapult-based team where the main idea is to take advantage of all kinds of status like Twave to disable threats like Zacian. Among all the components they create a good synergy, covering their weaknesses. Another varied strategy is to press SR + Spikes with Volturn between Rotom and Corkvinight. This way you can tip the result in favor. Ttar is good to fit vs Eternatus on the special side here EQ is important. Speaking of Eternatus, I like the core with Ferro. Both support and cover well. Leech Seed is key to wear and thus recover health safely

That team loses badly against dynamax sublefties ddance gyarados.....maybe puting haze, encore or something in quagsire can help.....because the actual set is pp stalled.

Life Orb Eternatus BO

The goal of this team is to answer relevant metagame threats like Zacian-C, Eternatus, Gothitelle and Excadrill reliably while also punishing unprepared teams offensively.

Quagsire + Tyranitar answer Zacian-C and Eternatus respectively while also spreading status/hazards. Shed Shell on Quagsire and Crunch on Tyranitar prevent Gothitelle from trapping them. Corviknight offers amazing role compression as physical pivot, slow U-turner and defogger and reliefs Quagsire defensively. Jolly Zacian-C is an incredible threat to every team. I opted for 4 attacks to maximize coverage and win against Baton Pass teams with Sacred Sword. Life Orb Eternatus is a very fast and relatively bulky special wallbreaker. It can freely switch in on a multitude of defensive Mons such as Quagsire, Corviknight and Corsola-Galar and set up Substiture on weak attacks or predicted switches. If Fairies are a concern Substitute should be exchanged for Sludge Wave. Finally I decided to include Ditto to improve the matchup against HO and Stall.

Team

I started this team off, with the core of goth and Zacian-C. Zacian-C is an all around breaker, dual stab deals great damage against the majority of the meta, fire fang is to hit excadrill, corvinight and aegislash at the same time. Wild charge is mainly for gyarados and pex, which otherwise would probably 6-0 me, even tho i have corvinknight, but it sometimes runs taunt, so thats not always an option. Goth can trap ditto(if locked into the wrong move), quag pex (if no shed shell), pyukumuku and corsola. Corviknight is a great pokemon as it stops the sand squad (hippo, ttar and exca) and is also my defogger. Eternatus is suppose to be water and electric resist and i had nothing for that, haban berry is to check other Eternatuses, since i have no switch ins for that. Excadrill can gmax against eternatus to kill it and potentially sweep, since it can set up sand on its own with g rockfall. Pyukumuku is my unaware pokemon and second check to Zacian and other sweepers like excadrill.
While writing this, i have come to realise of a second version of the Team which includes:
530.png ->
248.png
to have a better steahlrocker and deal w eternatus better
pyukumuku.gif
->

to have a Groundtype, which still has unware
Haban Berry -> Life orb on890.png cause i now would have a better Eternatus check being ttar

Second version of the team

imo i think the second team would overall be better, cause Eternatus is the biggest threat in the game atm

Thread update:

Kind of late getting to this, apologies.

Overall, there will be a discussion on the current hosted sample teams very soon, as I feel some may not no longer be meta representative, and then another update will occur post Pokemon home release. There is a good chance submissions will close in February due to Pokemon Home release so make sure any new teams are submitted before this period.

Balance team made around Agility Eternatus as win condition, with numerous ways to lure the opposing team members and put them in range for this Pokemon, while also giving a response to band dracovish. Clefable as Stealth Rock setter lets you win the hazard war most of the times and gives a solid response vs Toxic defensive Eternatus. Paired with Assault Vest Reuniculus to check the offensive special attackers like Hatterne and life orb Eternatus while also giving offensive pressure. Scarf Rotom Heat and Quagsire allows you to check Zacian-Crowned and excadrill under sand. The last slot had to be a defogger and Mandibuzz is the best option as it helps with dragapult and Gothitelle, while providing Knock off utility against passive Pokemon. Rotom Heat and Mandibuzz create a volt turn core that let u always have momentum and trick Choice Scarf to cripple defensive Pokemon such as opposing Quagsire.

This team features sets that are too niche to consider on a sample team such as Power Herb Zacian-C which is a gimmick at best and Choice Band would bring much more benefits to this team. Zamazenta-Crowned is not really representative of the meta and nor is the team built to its purpose.

This team is decently structured, but Im not sure what the inclusion of Eternatus does over the Hatterene sample. Hatterene has a stronger matchup against offense and your iteration struggles more against trappers (Dugtrio / Goth) and Darmanitan; The hatterene build has options of setting Trick Room or simply Dynamaxing to deal with these pokemon as some counterplay.

Your second submission which you imply is better, is already a current sample team and as the guidelines say to submit one team at a time. Please follow the guidelines highlighted in the OP.

Rejected, despite the structure being fine, there is an inefficiency with the moves, evs and item choices. The team struggles against trappers and Tyranitar is able to sit in and take advantage of most pokemon, I don't feel Dragapult is meta reprsentative. none the less this isn't a bad team overall and has a good concept and purpose, with a few optimisations, it could be a solid team.

The SylviLax core has been an interesting core, Sylveon offers a valuable wishpass for certain builds like this and its special bulk is something really decent, so check things like Kyurem White, Reshiram sometimes, not DD Kyurem Black and Hydreigon and Snorlax is the best check available from Lunala and Mewtwo (ofc, together with Umbreon), this team is very weak to Zacian-C, so I decided to add Necrozma DM, because he can tanker any hit from Zacian-C, then add Zacian Crowned because he is the best physical sweeper in Ubers and the fastest viable pokemon in Ubers without scarf, then I saw that I was missing a revenge killer that could complement Zacian-C, I saw that Lunala was a good option, because it can against mons like Gothitelle, Zacian-C sometimes, Zamazenta and Necrozma DM no Knock Off and in the last slot decided that Eternatus was a good option, since it is a good stallbreaker to stop cores like FerroPex or CorviPex + Clefable / Sylveon, I also have to emphasize that it can act as a soft check of Reshiram, because Eternatus can stop it using Toxic or Dynamax Cannon.

Sand Offense
:Excadrill: :Tyranitar: :Eternatus: :Corviknight-Gmax: :Necrozma-Dusk-Mane: :Gothitelle:
Team built around Excadrill to take advantage of the lack of ground resists in Ubers. Adamant life orb is to maximise damage while keeping the ability to switch up moves without Dynamaxing. Shadow Claw is mainly for Max Phantasm, which notably OHKOes Lunala without bulk investment through shield and defensive Lunala after a SD. Tyranitar is here to set up sand and checks threatening special attackers such as Lunala, Eternatus, Kyurem-W, and Mewtwo. Rest allows Tyranitar to remain healthy throughout the match to come in and set up sand. Flamethrower is so that Ferrothorn cannot just come in and start setting up spikes on you, and Foul Play hits Lunala and prevents Zekrom from getting a free substitute on you. Shed Shell is to prevent Dugtrio from trapping you. The defensive investment on Eternatus lets you recover off life orb Spectral Thief from Marshadow and the speed investment is to creep max speed Jolly Marshadow. The special attack investment allows you to always OHKO Dynamaxed Zekrom with Dynamax Cannon from full while giving you a small chance to OHKO Reshiram and Kyurem-White from full. Haban Berry lets you take a + Max Wyrmwind from Zekrom from full. Corviknight is a standard defensive set and is the Necrozma-Dusk-Mane check of the team. Iron Defense is needed to prevent DD sets from overwhelming you. Shed Shell is to prevent Gothitelle from trapping you. Necrozma-Dusk-Mane is the team's defensive Zacian-C check and acts as a secondary wincon. Enough speed is invested to outspeed Jolly Zacian-Crowned at +2 since it is a problem with sand making Morning Sun only heal 25% and the only thing that outspeeds it is Excadrill in sand. Finally, Gothitelle is used mainly to trap flying types such as Mandibuzz and Corviknight to help free up Earthquake from Excadrill. It can also trap or cripple bulky answers to Excadrill/Necrozma-Dusk-Mane with Trick.

This is my team for Ubers, and I think it's one of the best I've ever made. The only times I lose is because I got outplayed. It consists of Excadrill, Lunala, Quagsire, Zacian C, Necrozma DM, and Marshadow.

Excadrill-Excadrill serves as a dedicated lead, and is one of the best I've found. I experimented with Cloyster, and while it worked, I always came back to Excadrill. His moveset is perfect for a lead. He has the buffed rapid spin, two strong stabs, and rocks. He rocks a sash, for obvious reasons. The main draw of this set is that, if played perfectly, you can always get rocks up and spin if necessary. and usually get an attack off. The best move for most leads is to either Rapid Spin or EQ right off the bat. Rapid spin now ups your speed, so he becomes faster then every unboosted pokemon. He can now do whatever he needs to according to the situation. This set completely shuts down Necrozma DM leads, as it will win against every set by just EQing. On every set that doesn't have max defense invest it will guaranteed 2HKO. And on the ones it doesn't, it can just keep EQing because there's nothing they can really do to it, because attacking on the second turn is a guaranteed kill for Excadrill. It also completely shuts down basically every setup lead. Nothing special in the EV department, Max speed and fully invested attack

Lunala- Lunala serves as a blanket special check, because I needed a special switch in and we really lack good special walls right now, but Lunala works perfectly. With shadow shield and max investment in Spe def and hp, she becomes basically unkillable. The only thing I've ever seen OHKO her from full health on the special side is a dynamaxed Chandalure's max phantasm. the only other viable set that can OHKO her is life orb marshadow's spectral thief. It's actually ridiculous. Her movepool is great too. Moongeist beam is great, as it ignores abilities and has great base power. It's pp is low, which sucks, but what can you really do. Will-o-wisp is the corner stone of this set, as it allows her to check every physical attacker outside of maybe Marshadow and covers for her bad defense, which means she wall basically everything. Roost is here too for obvious reasons, the set just wouldn't work without it. Defog is my last pick, but this could be changed out for moonblast if you don't mind rocks staying up. It's not worth it in my opinion though. The item is heavy duty boots so she can come in no matter what and preserve shadow shield, and defog if you really need them gone. EVs are Max special def and health.

Quagsire- Oh boy now I get to the fun part. This mon is just so absurdly usefull it's hilarious. I have, in my over 100 games with this team, never had a match where Quag wasn't useful. It just walls half the entire tier with unaware, and shuts down any setup sweeper. Stone walls Necrozma DM, Zacian C, Marshadow (to an extent), Melmetal, Galar Darm (to an extent), and sometimes Zekrom. That might not sound like a whole lot, but those just so happen to be 4 of the most common pokemon in the meta. And that list was just viable picks in the Ubers tier. It would be quicker to list what physical mons it doesn't wall then ones it does. This is just the standard set, but my god is it effective. It has toxic to cripple any non-steel/poison types, Recover for obvious reasons, haze to shut down any setup sweepers, and scald to fish for burns on the steels. I cannot over state how good this set is. Has typical EVs of max defense and health.

Necrozma DM- This mon is so broken lmao. It just rampages through teams on it's sweeping sets, and walls everything on it's defensive sets. My team is actually sorta built to counter him. but I use him because he's so effective. My set is weakness policy Automatize with three attacks, and the only thing holding this set back from winning 75% of my games is Marshadow and Ditto. The attacks are basically all mandatory for good coverage, as I have photon geyser and sunsteel strike for strong stabs, and EQ for almost perfect coverage. Something always tries to flamethrower my Necroz hoping for some nice damage just to find out in horror that I now have the equivalent of a shell smash with none of the drawbacks. If they don't have a sash Marshadow or ditto, it's a gg right there. My EV's are max attack, 112 in speed to outspeed Zacian C at plus two, and the rest dumped into health to maximize bulk. This Pokemon serves as a fantastic late game sweeper

Zacian C- This thing is an absolute monster. It does everything. It can tank a hit really well for an offensive mon, has a great typing with excellent resistences, and absurd attack and a good offensive movepool that gives it great coverage. Basically, this set is SD+3 attacks. 3 of the moves are locked in, with Behemoth Blade, Play Rough and Swords dance, with Close combat as my last move. This one could be changed, as you could use Sacred Sword for no drawback, but the drop in power is really noticeable. This set is one of, if not the, best wincons in the game. This thing right here wins me the most amount of games. The best part about it is it's versatility. It can sweep at any time in the game, even without a boost. At full health, it wins the 1v1 with basically everything. This means that you can trade for something you really want gone. My EVs are simple, max speed and fully invested attack.

Marshadow- This thing is beastly. At full health, it will completely stop any sweep from anything. My team is never sweeped because of Quag and Marsh. But it doesn't just stop the sweep, it will take out at least one thing, and usually completely cripple another. This is a focus sash set, with the standard moves. Shadow sneak, spectral thief, and close combat are all mandatory in my eyes, although if you really, really want to you could use another fighting move, although it's definitely not worth it in my eyes. The last move is endeavor, as if you know you can't kill then you can completely cripple it. It has typical EVs of Max speed and fully invested attack.

So basically, this team is designed to counter top meta game threats and have one of the strongest defensive cores in the game while completely shutting down sweepers. Lunala and Quag have fantastic synergy that shuts down basically everything, and Marshadow helps to counter sweepers, revenge kill, and if the opportunity arises, sweep itself. Excadrill serves to always start the game at 5v5, get up rocks and keep them off my field, or sometimes just straight up sweep. It doesn't happen all the time but it definitely happens. Finally, Zacian and Necrozma serve as powerful wincons, but they do so much more then that. They can revenge kill, force out opponents, trade for another huge threat on the enemy team, or even tank some hits if needed. This team is one of my favorites of all time and I really hope you all will appreciate it as much as I do.

Banned deucer.
Since the implementation of the Dynamax Clause, previous submissions will not be accepted as they no longer reflect the current metagame. Furthermore I would like to apologise for my inactivity as some of you may or not know I've been awfully sick over the past handful of weeks, but we will be implementing post Dynamax clause teams as soon as possible, hope that clears up any confusion, feel free to submit post dynamax clause teams.

Here we have my pride and joy Ubers team.Hitmonlee is a hard sweeper because we have fake out and boosted with Normal Gem.And due to normal Gem's effect,I ran Unburden for anything thats normally faster.Endure is for after FO to live on 1 HP to hit hard with reversal which gets of vital threats to any frail pokemon,like kyurem-b, kyurem-w, cloyster and melmetal.Thats why I ran adamant,for extra power.Now you already know about dracovish so dont ask xD X3.You dont need me to explain the legendary dracovish X).Now u will h8 me 4 this but I tried tactics Metronome on Darm but changed it to zen mode bcuz zen galar darm op and you know it :).Mimikyu can deal with bulky things like melmetal but it can do it better becaue mimikyu gets swords dance and disguise which offers a free SD.And since it gets shadow sneak it can deal with fast pokemon like Darmanitan Galar Zen, Dragapult and Zeraora.Melmetal is for being the op iron man it really is and is for dealing with threats the team cant muster.Lariat is for frickin Iron defense Body Press Corviknight xD.Finally,Cloyster handles big threats too and has great flinch hax and if it gets to live after shell smash the kings rock makes it threatening.

Edited Hitmonlee with a Ghost counter!

rotom-wash.gif
necrozma-duskmane.gif

I wanted to build Around Eternatus agilty, a set of eternatus than i estimate as the most underrated. I coupled it with a choice specs lunala who weaken the counters of eternatus and strongly wallbreak. I wished to have spikes in the team to weaken Zacian who endure a flamethrower from eternatus, so i runned ferrothorn who also check dracovish and dusk mane without heat wave . I also wanted a check to excadrill and gyarados , 2 of the scariest sweeper in the tier imo, so i added a rotom-wash, who also help eternatus with trick and can be an emergency check to things like stored power dusk/cosmic power eternatus and mewto. I needed a special wall , tyranitar imposed himself as he can break shadow shield of lunala to help eternatus, setup stealth rocks. i runned superpower to lure excadrill and other tyranitar. Crunch is better than rock blast but i needed rock blast to improve the match up against baton pass , reshiram mandibuzz peliper ... crunch can be prefered for a better match up against mewto/lunala. In last mon i choosed necrozma dusk-mane who check Zacian, Kyurem Black and eternatus and help lunala with thunder wave. Quagsire is an option because morning sun isnt the best move with sand but i prefered dusk to lessen the pression against my tyranitar who's lacking rest. Knock off is an option over sunsteel strike but it can be detrimental with rotom w trick. Iron head can be used too if u wanna haxx.Thunder can be run over moonblast on lunala but u won't be able to hit dark type with an accurate move
I peaked 1 of the ladder with this team without be defeated (56-0), hitted the highest gxe in gen8ubers (95) and put a lot of accounts in top 10( Ufg France ( with kabilapok and shuwri),UFGG,L'habitat,Clearque,UFG Clearque...[Capture,.PNGunknown (4).pngunknown (3).pngunknown (2).pnganother peak 1.PNG
Rotom-Wash
44 spa on rotom allowed him to 2 shots gyarados dynamax.
68 Hp allows rotom to endure a dynamax cannon from Timid full spa eternatus life orb.
224+ speed allows rotom to outspeed zacian-crowned with choice scarf
Tyranitar
28 speed allows tyranitar to outspeed paralysed pokemon wit 100 bst speed like charizard
Necrozma
112 speed allows ndm to outspeed zacian paralysed without being 2ohkoed (only 9% chance of 2Ohko after stealth rocks)
Eternatus
176 speed allows eternatus to outspeed adamant dugtrio (so he can't dynamax)
80 hp allow eternatus to take 2 moongeist beam from lunala/ditto to safely check focus blast
Marshadow has 15% chance to 2ohko ( u can swap 40evs from spa to defense to avoid)

Thanks to KyogreF4N who's corriged somes mistakes of the description and suggested me to run a faster Eternatus to outspeed lunala. Thanks to Shuwri who suggested to me rock blast to help against ninjask

Description :

As you can see, I wanted to build an offensive team, contrasting with the majority of the teams we can see in the Metagame. Indeed, most of the teams are balanced, bulky, and even fat. But the goal of this post is showing you the team I used to qualify myself for the Play Offs of the Ubers Ladder Tournament II [Cycle 1] and not debating on the types of the teams in the actual Metagame.
First, I wanted to have a suicide lead that can set both Stealth Rock and Spikes, facilitating the pressure of the team. The set of Mew is pretty classic, it has the Red Card to avoid Excadrill's Rapid Spin. Indeed, Mew can win the "hazards war", as it can Taunt Excadrill, forcing it to hit Rapid Spin, and get out of the board. Then you can set SR and one or two layers of Spikes, depending on what your opponent is doing. Explosion allows Mew to prevent Rapid Spin if Excadrill return on the board.
Then, I added to the team Kyurem-Black which is, to me, one of the most underrated Ubers' Pokemons. Thank's to its ability and its access to Dynamax, KB destroys Pokemons such as Umbreon, Quagsire, Ferrothorn with Max-Hailstorm after a Dragon Dance. The set is a 3 attacks DD; Dragon Claw allows KB to get rid of Dragon types, which are neutral to Ice Type (KB / Kyurem-White/ Reshiram). Next Pokemon is Eternatus Agility, a set of Eternatus that I really appreciate and pretty powerful, depending on the team you're facing. Its Flamethrower helps the Break of KB, getting rid of Steel Types like Melmetal or Necrozma-DM.
To complete this HO, I added a Trick Room Core with Necrozma-DM and Lunala. This TR Core allows the team to get rid of really fast teams, and surprise the opponent. Indeed, when you see this team you can assume that the Duskmane is a Dragon Dance + Weakness Policy set, or an OTR. But Lunala is often seen like a Specs, a Scarf or even a CM one. I use Duskmane with 3 attacks and TR over 2 attacks-TR-SD, because Sunsteel Strike allows Duskmane to OHKO the ice types (even Dynamaxed) and hit neutral on most of the Ubers' Pokemons. Moreover Earthquake is here for Reshiram and the Steel types, and Photon Geyser is here for Eternatus, Toxapex, Quagsire (because Photon Geyser doesn't take Unaware in consideration) and Marshadow (which holds out a Sunsteel Strike of Duskmane not boosted). The set of Lunala is the same as Duskmane : 3 attacks TR. Moongeist Beam and Psychic are Lunala's STABs and Moonblast allows Lunala to hit Dark Types. Focus Blast isn't that useful in this team, because due to SR and Spikes, Tyranitar can't come on the board as often as it wants. So Moonblast will get good damages in addition to the entry hazards.
Finally, I ended this team with Marshadow Scarf. Thank's to the Choice Scarf, Marshadow becomes a great Revenge Killer, and prevents Dugtrio Scarf from getting the KO on it. Indeed, Marshadow can outspeed Dugtrio Scarf and get rid of it with one of its STAB. Besides, I prefer having Shadow Sneak over Knock Off or Toxic to revenge kill others Marshadow. Furthermore, Zen Headbutt allows Marshadow to hit Poison Types, especially Eternatus.

- 92 Evs in Defense allows Eternatus to hold out a Behemoth Blade of Adamant Zacian after Stealth Rock's damages
- 176 Evs in Speed allows Eternatus to outspeed Adamant Dugtrio, preventing it from Dynamaxing
- 240+ Evs in Special Attack allows Eternatus to OHKO Zacian-C after SR and one layer of Spikes

- Marshadow : Opting for Toxic or Knock Off over Shadow Sneak to annoy Defensive Pokemons
- Kyurem-Black : Opting for the Adamant Nature to always get the KO on Zacian Crowned with Max Lighting after a Dragon Dance
- Necrozma-DM : Opting for Knock Off over Sunsteel Strike to get rid easier of Lunala
- Lunala : Opting for Focus Blast over Moonblast to deal more damages on Tyranitar

Shout-outs :
- Thank's to Kyurem-Black for being cool
- Thank's to Lunala for being my light in the night

When building this team, I wanted to build something that could just break through the standard teams that run things like tyranitar, necrozma, lunala, and other bulky cores. The team fits the typical norms for a hyper offence team. Mew is a standard lead, setting spikes and stealth rocks for the team, while being able to prevent them from your own side using taunt. Explosion is there to help just leave the field with a benefit to you, since mew isn't meant to be alive much. The grimmsnarl usually comes out next, being a standard screen setter with taunt for defog and spirit break as an attacking move that helps break sashes, shadow shield, and just deal some good damage overall with grimmsnarl having a huge attack stat. The hp and defence allow you to always take a zacian crowned adamant behemoth blade behind reflect at full health, so you can get a taunt or another screen if it isn't running quick attack. The speed is to outspeed no speed tyranitar to deal a lot of damage with spirit break, and the rest was put into sp.def. Necrozma is probably the overall strongest sweeper for the team, dealing massive damage to everything and being able to break physical and special walls that are common. The 84 special attack allows you to 2hko corviknight with heat wave after rocks, something that is typically a guaranteed counter to necrozma. Photon geyser helps to deal with quagsire and rotoms mainly, and sunsteel just breaks almost everything. Zacian is there since it's the fastest and the strongest unboosted breaker in the tier, so I thought that it could benefit the team a lot, and although the set is not able to break ferrothorn or necrozma, wild charge helps the rain match up and also beats corviknight. Lunala was originally g-max gengar when I first built the team, but it was underwhelming, and shadow sheild helped stop other sweeps and prevent ditto from destroying the team with its own set up. Substitute on lunala was originally calm mind, but necrozma was proving to be a huge threat to the team, and I switched it out for sub, since only the max roll sunsteel strike breaks sub with reflect up, and it prevents status. Gyarados also wasn't always there, it was first a zekrom with sub for ditto, but gyarados has been much more effective. While zekrom won me maybe 1 game, probably close to half my wins are on the back of gyarados. Power whip can be changed for taunt to allow it to beat necrozma very easily, however I used power whip for quagsire which can dynamax and take no damage from gyarados waterfall and break the focus sash, or just sit there and possibly waste my own dynamax.
There are a few things that can become a problem for the team if you're not properly set up, since everything has a counter, but hyper offence is all about predictions and outplaying your opponent to set up for a win.
Ferrothorn- stopped if it's the lead by taunt mew, and takes a lot of damage from heat wave, but is able to wall zacian fully and leech seed or set up iron defense on gyarados.
Corviknight- This mon isn't a threat, but is just a defogger that is hard to kill in one hit without set up, and can get rid of hazards.
Lunala- Shadow shield is hard to get through especially if it's heavy duty boots, but can be dealt with by set up gyarados, grimmsnarl, and set up zacian, as well as winning ties with lunala.
Tyranitar- Spreads twave, but only can wall lunala, and only if focus blast misses, not a big threat at all but something to look for with lunala out.
Necrozma- This thing doesn't die to anything, but set up gyarados especially if you use taunt, as well as lunala, can deal with it.
Reshiram- Without eq on necrozma, this is one of the best revenge killers to it, but aside from that not a problem to the rest of the team.
Zacian-Crowned- Doesn't beat necrozma behind screens and can't kill lunala as well as possibly losing ties to this team's zacian, but gets free set up on the mew and grimmsnarl, as well as outspeeding gyarados at +1 if it's jolly.
Marshadow and Ditto- I put these together because they are both very anti HO mons, that really threaten set up. They can be dealt with by using hazards to chip and break sash on marshadow, then usually tanking a hit with your own sweeper behind screens.

These may seem bad, but a list of 9 mons that each beat 1-2 members of this team isn't bad, especially since corviknight, tyranitar, and reshiram all are very easily dealt with, and everything else can be beat unless it's left to a 1v1. All of these things won't be on the same team, and you can easily play around this with switches since your opponent will likely be more punished for switching with hazards up.

This team also does have some very strong match ups, mainly due to the set up and taunt shutting down opposing set up.
Baton Pass- This team may be one of the best at beating full baton pass chains. Double taunt helps just shut down the set up, and the 2 steel types can beat magic bouncers like xatu and hatterene. Lunala beats dubwool fully, and screens don't let the bp do damage unboosted.
Sand- Sash gyarados is mainly the thing that helps this the most, since it always can revenge excadrill and kill tyranitar in one hit, while setting rain with max geyser. Bulky steels like corviknight and ferrothorn do need a bit of chip before gyarados can sweep, but it's easily doable. Also, necrozma lives hits very easily behind screens and 2 dd's lets it outspeed adamant excadrill in sand.
Other HO- The two taunters really help against other hyper offence, and gyarados flying allows it to beat sticky webs since those teams don't run many scarfers from my experience, and just go for power.
Stall- Full stall teams running things like goth, duggy, pex, quag, corvi, and etern among other things are easily beaten, mainly just by necrozma running through them. Taunt stops hazards on your side, and necrozma takes no damage through screens. Photon can beat pex and quag, heat wave beats the steels, and sunsteel for everything else.
Bulky balance- This team archetype makes up most of the tier currently, so I have to bring it up. The match up isn't too strong, but I would say that a majority of them lose to this hyper offence. Late game gyarados with spikes up is extremely hard to wall, and it just has a domino effect with moxie to beat a lot of the checks slowly. Lunala usually can destroy those teams as well with a good focus blast prediction into tyranitar, since a lot of sets are physically defensive like necrozma, ferrothorn, toxapex, and corviknight. Umbreon and mandibuzz are counters to it, but the whole rest of the team has a very good match up against those 2.

These are the ladder peaks I've had using mostly this team, with a few games using others, but the vast majority was this HO. The first is my cycle 1 peak a few days before it ended, so decay pushed me out of a qualifying spot, and the second image is my highest ladder placing with the team not long before cycle 2 ended, and a few people passed that spot by the end of the cycle not in the image. I peaked 1780 elo with an 86.2% GXE during ULT, so the team does have the capability to show results.

Thread update:
Hello, after a long time, here is an update of sample teams for DLC1.

Teams added via internal council
1. Volcarona Balance
by TrueNora edited by Terracotta
:Volcarona::Eternatus::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Rotom-Wash::Ditto::Blissey:

:Tyranitar::Excadrill::Gothitelle::Corviknight::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned:

3. Dracovish Rain by DNNP edited by TrueNora and Perry
:Pelipper::Drednaw-Gmax::Dracovish::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane:

:Mew::Grimmsnarl::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Gyarados::Zacian-Crowned::Kyurem-Black:

:Torkoal::Venusaur::Mandibuzz::Zacian-Crowned::Eternatus::Charizard-Gmax:

:Dragapult::Necrozma-Dusk-Mane::Skarmory::Blissey::Eternatus::Zacian-Crowned:

Feel free to message me on Discord for any questions or concerns about the teams! My tag is Nora.#3829.
