Welcome to the first instalment of SS Ubers UU Teambuilding Competition! This project, while also a donation incentive, gives you the chance to showcase your team building capabilities. Be sure to tune in every week to submit teams and vote on which one is the best! Voting takes place during the weekend and the winner will be announced on Monday!.

Winning teams will be showcased in the Teambuilding Hall of Fame, and have the possibility of being used for sample teams and showcased in a Reddit post.

Rules and Guidelines:

All participants will submit a link to the team in the PokePaste format, with the option to add a description of how the team was built and functions; be mindful that voters will likely look at the team and analyze your though process, so give as much information as needed to sell yourself. Other than the requirement to use the subject of the week, the team merely has to be legal for use in the current Gen 8 Ubers UU format, so build to your hearts desire!

People are welcome to discuss submitted teams but should be mindful to avoid trying to change the team drastically; this is not a Team Bazaar or Rate My Team, so please keep suggested changes to a minimum.

Cheating of any kind will result in your disqualification and potential ban from submitting future teams. Do not attempt to manipulate votes, steal teams from others, or generally skew the outcome of the weekly challenges. This is a for-fun project and the people who participate should not be dissuaded from having fun.

```Week 1: Giratina-Origin
1000033033.jpg
Giratina-Origin has been described as the swiss knife of this meta. It has tools upon tools, allowing it to set up on the physical and special side, act as a powerful utility mon, or even defensive stopgap, sometimes many of these at the same time. How would you use it?
Submission Requirements:
-Must be a legal team in SS Ubers UU
-Must Include 2 replays that show the team
Submission Deadline: June 14 at 11:59 EDT
Good luck everyone!
Double Ghost Offense
I wanted to build around the core of Tina-O + NDW. So my immediate goals where to deal with chans and ursh-dark so I used Sub Tina, Scarf Knock NDW, Wish Pass Clef, and Scarf Knock + MBlast Fini, to patch up my mu against those 2 mons. Heatran is my standard Nag answer since I also wanted rocks to help deal with Chansey. And I ended up going with Ada Zama with sub since I felt like it could preasure things out and get the sub off on those switches. Team might be better off with Hone Claws Tina but I just wanted to use sub lowkey.
Lost this one but I got the knock off on Chans so it gets the idea across.
My team utilizes a mixture of physical and special attackers to be able to handle multiple threats. While the team does lack hazards or hazard control, it should be able to do enough damage to where they become non-factors.
Giratina-Origin uses hex and draco meteor to deal large amounts of damage to enemies. Will o'wisp reduces the threat of Knock Off and enables Hex while Dragon Tail provides much-needed phasing.
Genesect uses Shift Gear to boost Iron Head and Leech Life. U-Turn provides pivoting and focus sash allows Genesect to set up on mons that would normally threaten it.
Nagadel uses Life Orb and Nasty Plot to boost Sludge Wave and Draco Meteor to high enough damage levels to break through walls. U-Turn provides pivoting.
Solegao uses its base attack stat plus choice band to use either Sunsteel Strike, Close Combat, or Psychic Fangs to remove whatever is in front of it. Teleport is equipped to avoid bad switch ins.
Zamazenta uses substitute and lum berry to maintain its health and attack stat for long enough to boost either Close Combat or Howl to sweep.
Base Kyurem is a hold over from Gen 9 UUbers, although this time it uses earth power instead of tera blast ground. Earth Power, Ice Beam, Freeze Dry, and Focus Blast is wide enough coverage to allow Kyurem to threaten multiple mons with choice specs.
Behold! My team for this teambuilding competition! Special thanks to ilikeeatingcrayons for collecting replays!
:giratina-origin: :Griseous Orb:
Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 36 HP / 252 Atk / 220 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hone Claws
- Poltergeist
- Earthquake
- Shadow Sneak
The star of the show. When I wanted to build around Giratina-Origin, I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do. I wanted to build either Calm Mind or Hone Claws, but decided on Hone Claws because of Gira’s super strong Poltergeist. Shadow Sneak allows Gira to pick off weakened opponents like Sash Shift Gear Genesect and Naganadel. Speaking of Genesect, my Gira speed creeps Adamant Genesect. EQ is good for slamming Magearna, although you could do Substitute since you won’t break Chansey anyway
:Heatran: :shed shell:
Heatran @ Shed Shell
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic
Naganadel is a huge problem for this Gira set, as well as Chansey, which Heatran helps alleviate. Standard set otherwise.
:slowbro: :Rocky helmet:
Slowbro @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Slack Off
- Teleport
- Scald
- Future Sight
Future Sight + Physical move is the signature combo of Generation 8, so why not put it here? Slowbro + Heatran is an amazing defensive core capable of being a thorn in offensive teams, and yeah Slowbro good
:Zamazenta: :choice band:
Zamazenta @ Choice Band
Ability: Dauntless Shield
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs
- Iron Head
Zamazenta is an amazing pick here. It helps alleviate the Chansey issue even more, and it can weaken walls for Giratina to clean up later. Vise versa as well, and nothing pairs well with a Future Sight than a strong Physical attacker.
:Chansey: :Eviolite:
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Aromatherapy
- Wish
In my experience, Heatran is a nice Naganadel check… until it’s worn down. Wish is amazing support for it, and with Aromatherapy you can play risky with Zamazenta and Gira, not caring about Toxic as much.
:Excadrill: :leftovers:
Excadrill @ Leftovers
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Atk / 156 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Shadow Claw
- Earthquake
“Aw man” I thought to myself, “I need a Ground type that can set and remove hazards, oh wait…”
Excadrill frees up the Rocks slot from Heatran, and the Attack investment allows it to cleanly 2HKO max HP Necrozma with SClaw and out speed Modest Max Speed Mag
RESHIRAM!
For week two of SS UUBERS teambuilding competition, we have the dragon representing truth, Reshiram. Reshiram has had a quiet presence in the tier, being one of the premier Defog options and possibly the best answer to the dangerous Genesect. However it has been overshadowed by other dragons such as Giratina-Origin and Naganadel for most of the time, yet now is its time to shine! How will you use it?
Explain all about it here.
Submission Requirements:
-Must be a legal team in SS Ubers UU
-Must Include 2 replays that show the team
Deadline for the submissions is Sunday June 22nd, 11:59 pm -4 and voting will begin later.
The team for this week is a team that Mozonite made for me but modified to be a 6-dragon stack. Druddigon is the lead that can para, flinch, phase, and taunt. Reshiram is a sweeper set borrowed from a different Mozonite team (shoutout Mozonite my G.O.A.T. fr). Giratina-Origin and Palkia both serve similar roles as physical sweepers, while Dialga and Kyurem-White are both special breakers.
:sv/reshiram: :sv/tapu koko: :sv/regieleki: :sv/hawlucha: :sv/porygon2: :sv/heatran:
:reshiram: :electric seed:
worst mon aot (Reshiram) @ Electric Seed
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 224 Atk / 32 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Hone Claws
- Flare Blitz
- Scale Shot
I can't lie, this mon was a lot more difficult to build around. ilikeeatingcrayons sole reason why I even endured doing this. I thought that an ESeed set with Dragon Dance was funny, so I went with that. 32 SpD EVs mean that Slowbro Scald can not break Substitute
:tapu koko: :terrain extender:
Tapu Koko @ Terrain Extender
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- U-turn
- Roost
- Taunt
- Dazzling Gleam
Well, I need to have ETerrain up so... Tapu Koko... god bless Gen 8 for having him
:regieleki: :magnet:
Regieleki @ Magnet
Ability: Transistor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Volt Switch
- Thunderbolt
- Rapid Spin
- Rising Voltage
Pre-nerf Transistor. Rising Voltage. Could make this Shed Shell or Balloon but... Magnet funni
:hawlucha: :electric seed:
Hawlucha @ Electric Seed
Ability: Unburden
EVs: 116 HP / 252 Atk / 140 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Acrobatics
- Close Combat
- Encore
I realized that Reshiram could either be a lategame cleaner, or help a lategame cleaner, which is where Hawlucha comes it. either weakening the opponent or finishing them off. Last slot I was trying out Throat Chop for Necrozma, but decided on Encore because a fast Encore is hella nice. The Speed EVs are to outspeed +2 Jolly Reshiram after Unburden activates.
:porygon2: :eviolite:
Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Foul Play
- Recover
- Teleport
- Thunder Wave
My baby boy Porygon2...when I was finished with the first 4 Pokemon, I realized that Dugtrio straight up just fucks this squad up, so I decided to use Porygon2, which also helps the team further with Paralysis support and Teleport.
:heatran: :shed shell:
Heatran @ Shed Shell
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 244 HP / 244 SpD / 20 Spe
Calm Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic
Nag check!!!!! (could make this rocks iyw)
DD Reshi + CM Clef (3 pink blobs)
:reshiram: :zamazenta: :necrozma-dawn-wings: :Chansey: :Slowbro: :Clefable:
Wanted to start off by saying that OceanicGamer 's team from week 1 was a huge insperation for this team. I wanted to build a similar team that used chansey has the defensive for 2 offensive mons that would break though the team and could allow for the 2 sweepers to clean up. In practice, Reshi also helped break through a lot, since the set I was using had very little longevity and the teams I fought made more sense to focus on a Clefable endgame. Some small set changes would be to consider stoss on chansey over ice beam for the cm wars, and to change up the Reshi set to sm that can be sent out more than once (like this :REshiram:). So yea, anyways, please enjoy my 2 beautiful replays where I hax Lyra with CM Ibeam Clef.
Bulky Wisp Reshi + Tect 3a Solg ft. CM TWave Clef
https://pokepast.es/e76642fa8765bcf9 -> :Reshiram: :Clefable: :Solgaleo: :Tyranitar: :Palkia: :Aegislash:
I've come to really like the teams overall matchups outside of E-Terrain, the main idea basically revolves around CM Twave Clef and SubTox Aegi spreading status before going on a rampage themselves. Aegislash is incredibly annoying to switch into. It particularly takes advantage of common fat killers like CM Lugia and annoys Slowbro, Chansey, non CM Clef MASSIVELY (effectively being a fat killer itself). CM TWave Clef paras the precious Steel types everyone tends to have cuz of Naganadel which Aegi obviously likes. They both have phenomenal synergy, and are further complemented by the rest of the team which have a backbone themselves. DTail Ttar in particular is great cuz it really messes with the 2 very common fighters well. Tect 3a solg makes a lot of team sad when they realize they can't send in their trusty slowbro lest it gets zapped by a Tbolt. With protect it heals out of range of multiple moves like bulky melm's eqs and even non offensive Heatran. Reshiram is my gene switch-in and Palkia is the speed control.
