Looking for advice on my SS UU HO team, made it into the Top 50 on ladder but want to optimize and looking for any tips
Indeedee (M) @ Terrain Extender
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Hyper Voice
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
Indeedee is the backbone of the team, further supported by Terrain Extender. The psychic terrain is very useful in checking the rampant priority in the tier, such as Golisopod, FI Haxorus, Mamoswine, Sirfetched, etc. and keeps them from killing my setup sweepers that run focus sash with priority. Powerful psychic and normal STABs help whittle things down, shadow ball to hit things like bronzong, doublade, polteageist, and calm mind to setup on passive mons but it doesn't get much use as I want Psychic Terrain on the field as long as possible and this mon doesn't hit especially hard compared to my setup mons
Noivern (M) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Infiltrator
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hurricane
- Flamethrower
- Defog
- Taunt
Noivern is the premier offensive defog user in the tier, getting rid of hazards that kill my focus sashes. I am unsure of the fit in this team as I recently replaced Mr. Rime with Noivern as Aurora Veil is no longer in the tier so not much need for Mr. Rime other than rapid spin. Noivern is a fast user of Taunt, shutting down passive mons and setup mons and hitting hard back with a STAB Hurricane or flamethrower for steel types. This is the slot I am most unsure about and willing to change, I've tried things like Espeon and Mr. Rime, Espeon made my team too weak to Dark Types and Mr. Rime just didn't do it for me even though the utility of getting rid of screens on switch in was useful alongside rapid spin.
Polteageist (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Stored Power
- Shell Smash
- Giga Drain
Polteageist is the first abuser of Shell Smash and makes great use of the Psychic Terrain as mentioned above. Polteageist hits incredibly hard and has almost no switch-ins after a Shell Smash. It prefers things like Mantine and Dark Types be gone before a setup but can still do heavy damage even on resisted hits. Giga Drain is for bulky waters (read: Milotic) and gives good recovery on weakened Pokemon if needed. Stored Power hits 140 base power after a Shell Smash and hits harder than a STAB Shadow Ball on neutral hits.
Barbaracle (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Tough Claws
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Stone Edge
- Shell Smash
- Low Kick
Barbaracle is the second abuser of Shell Smash/Focus Sash, hitting incredibly hard after a Shell Smash boost, having even fewer switch-ins than Polteageist. A +2 Liquidation does 67.3 - 79.3% to the premier physical wall in the tier, Galarian Weezing, leaving very little room for error if your opponent lets it get any damage. Low Kick is for coverage and hitting Dark Types and is more reliable than Cross Chop, though 95% of the time Liquidation or Stone Edge will hit harder.
Haxorus (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Close Combat
Haxorus is the wallbreaker of the team, weakening and hitting almost everything in the tier, even 2HKO-ing Weezing-G with the help of Mold Breaker. Haxorus after a DD is strong enough to sweep on its own, hitting extremely hard with a combo of EQ and Outrage, and Close Combat to hit dark types in lieu of First Impression, which I dropped as it's a dead move with Psychic Terrain on the field. Lum Berry for Outrage confusion, obviously, and for tanking a status if needed.
Froslass (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Cursed Body
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Icy Wind
- Spikes
- Destiny Bond
- Taunt
Froslass is my dedicated lead, as a very versatile lead it can Taunt opposing leads and prevent them from setting up hazards, and, ideally, you can get up a layer of spikes after a taunt, live the hit on focus sash, then destiny bond to get a free kill and deprive your opponent of any hazards throughout the match, assisting Polteageist and Barbaracle especially. Your opponent has to play carefully to not get caught by the Destiny Bond, especially with Taunt shutting down things like Toxic and Will-O-Wisp. Icy Wind is for the odd mon that outspeeds Froslass or slowing down a Pokemon that can be easily revenge killed, while hitting things weak to ice with decent damage. This Pokemon is an amazing lead and it's criminal that it's only NU
