Hi everyone! I will be returning this generation as the host of the viability ranking thread, but because we are so early in the metagame we can't properly gauge the tier well enough to produce very accurate rankings. For the time being, we're going to provide a list of all Pokemon with fair viability in the metagame, which should help serve as a threat list of sorts while also providing an early teambuidling tool. Our criteria for this list was Pokemon we'd imagine could reasonably reside somewhere in a hypothetical viability ranking scenario. Since it is early, this list will likely have frequent changes made and should be a pretty rough estimate of the actual meta to come. This thread will be used as a resource and not for discussion of the tier, so it will be locked. Enjoy!

I'd like to remind everyone that this list is merely preliminary, meaning that a lot of what's on it is subject to changing as the metagame further develops. Our definitions of viability are also pretty fluid at this early stage. We'll be doing our best to update this as needed to reflect our continuously changing metagame, so please bear with us for the time being! Thanks and enjoy!
 
Hey everyone! Just checking to let people know that we're currently working on the official rankings. They should be out roughly a week from now, but in the meantime Crawdaunt, Gengar, and Obstagoon have been removed and a few other Pokemon have been added to the full list. Thank you for your patience and stay tuned!
