Iron Hands @ Choice Band
Ability: Quark Drive
EVs: 252 Atk / 52 Def / 40 SpD / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Bolt Strike
- Combat Torque
- Ice Punch
- Mach Punch
The Paradox Cyborg pulverizes STABmons! Bolt Strike electrocutes Water-types like Toxapex, Volcanion, Slowbro, and Slowking. Combat Torque smashes Electric-resistant foes like Ogerpon-H and Dark-types like Ting-Lu, Tyranitar, and Kingambit while also ignoring contact effects like Heatran's Burning Bulwark. Ice Punch shatters Ground-types like Landorus-T, Great Tusk, and Gliscor, dealing massive damage to physically defensive variants of the former two and OHKOing the latter. Mach Punch picks off Fighting-weak targets like Weavile, Darkrai, and Ogerpon-C as well as chipped offensive threats. The EV spread allows Iron Hands to outspeed Skarmory and live a Headlong Rush from Jolly Landorus-T. Powerful late-game cleaners such as Swords Dance Ogerpon formes, Weavile, and Thundurus-T are important teammates, as they can wrap up the game easily through the massive holes Iron Hands punches through most defensive cores; they also tend to appreciate the paralysis offered by Bolt Strike and Combat Torque to lend them free turns of setup. In return, Iron Hands appreciates them picking up the slack in terms of Iron Hands's low Speed tier to revenge kill Pokemon it cannot such as Landorus-T, Gyarados, and Latias.
