Can I c/p from the player article?
Eh, screw it.
Beedrill is quite a threat in STABmons thanks to its incredible attack, speed, and adaptability. While in standard metagames Beedrill lacks and good STAB moves, in STABmons it can abuse the nuclear STAB boosted Adaptability Megahorn and Gunk Shot. These moves hit ridiculously hard, but additional coverage is pretty much essential. Drill Run is the best move available to hit Steel types like Heatran, and Knock Off can destroy Ghost type like Gengar. Another option is U-Turn to preserve momentum when a counter such as Skarmory comes in. Protect is an option to safely mega evolve, but Beedrill loves the other coverage and it's hard to find space for Protect. Beedrill has access to the coveted Sticky Web but it has almost no bulk to set it up with. However, if one manages to pull that off it is quite a pain for the opponent. Lastly, Coil is somewhat of an option to make Beedrill more powerful, allow its STABs to hit more often, and boost its pathetic defense stat. However, Beedrill almost never has time to set up and is still quite frail after a Coil boost so this is generally not recommended.
Beedrill has issues with his defense stat, which can be problematic in a metagame filled with Fake Out + Extreme Speed normal types. This is why it is important to bring a hard counter to these sorts of threats as they will always force Beedrill out. One excellent choice is Skarmory, who can also support Beedrill with Spikes. Ferrothorn is a similar choice although it is weak to Lopunny's High Jump Kick and takes neutral damage from Diggersby's Earthquake. If you opt to run U-Turn on Beedrill, it is probably a good idea to pair it with more users of U-Turn and Volt Switch to create a "Volt-Turn" momentum based core. It is worth noting in STABmons that dark types such as Sableye can add to this momentum passing with access to Parting Shot. Magnezone has a niche with Beedrill because it can trap Beedrill's worst enemy- Skarmory. Zapdos is also a good partner as it can Defog away hazards that plague Beedrill. In terms of pure offensive partners, Keldeo is great because it can smash Landorus-T and Skarmory while Beedrill does the same to Latios and Celebi.
