This is a thread dedicated to the Stadium Cups featured in the N64 title Pokemon Stadium. Some players have tried out these old metagames on Pokemon Showdown now that the new ruling systems can let you replicate them. These metagames were originally ported from the competitive scene in Japan from 1996 to 1999, although they were also featured in tournaments such as Stadium World Tour 2000. Some were even ported to Pokemon Yellow under "Colosseum2". There's much history to these metagames, though little optimisation has been attempted since due to them largely being forgotten outside of Japan.
Each format runs the following "universal clauses";
Traditionally, these metagames are played without Tradebacks; this especially applies to Pika Cup, as Tradebacks drastically lowers obtainable levels, which makes many new Pokemon legal, changes level-up learnsets, and overall essentially makes it Poke Cup Lite. However, some players do implement other changes, such as adding Evasion Clause and OHKO Clause to "modernise" the formats.
Without further ado, let's get into the formats!
