Due to its high Attack, low Speed, and strong Gyro Ball, Stakataka is a solid offensive Trick Room setter in DOU. The combination of its good Defense and Rock / Steel typing gives Stakataka good defensive utility; it is able to reliably switch in against some of the tier's most threatening attackers such as Dragon Dance Kyurem-B and Celesteela while acting as an effective check to Naganadel. Because of Stakataka's ability, Beast Boost,it can very quickly snowball and become difficult to handle. Its nuclear Gyro Ball can OHKO Diancie and Kyurem-B in addition to dealing good damage to neutral targets like Tapu Fini and Rillaboom. However, if Trick Room is denied via Fake Out, Taunt, Spore, or any other means, Stakataka has a hard time posing an offensive threat due to its incredibly low Speed. Because its typing leaves it vulnerable to notable special attackers such as Volcanion, Tapu Fini, and Heatran, Stakataka partners well with Fake Out users such as Incineroar and Pokemon with redirection moves such as Amoonguss to help alleviate these weaknesses. It also works well with more consistent Trick Room setters such as Porygon2 and Cresselia. Most importantly, Stakataka has direct competition from fellow Rock-type Diancie as an offensive Trick Room setter; Diancie is generally more reliable, as it has better defensive capabilities, is immune to the effects of Intimidate, and has access to a strong spread move in Diamond Storm, granting it snowballing potential.

move 3: Trick Room

[SET COMMENTS]

• Gyro Ball is a strong STAB move that hits a lot of the tier for good damage, notably OHKOing Landorus and 2HKOing Zygarde and Urshifu-R.

• Stone Edge is Stakataka's preferred Rock-type STAB move, allowing it to hit Fire-types such as Torkoal and Volcanion that resist Gyro Ball. Alternatively, Body Press can be used to hit Heatran and Incineroar while ignoring Intimidate; however, ensure that Stakataka has a Brave nature and full Defense investment.

• Stakataka uses Trick Room to support itself and its teammates by turning their low Speed to their advantage, and Stakataka will almost always move first under Trick Room, thanks to its extremely low Speed.

• Protect keeps Stakataka safe as its teammates come in to support it.

• Stakataka runs a Lonely nature and only 13 Defense IVs in order to receive an Attack boost from Beast Boost.

=============
Rock Slide is an alternative Rock-type STAB move that hits both opposing Pokemon, although it misses out on the OHKOs Stone Edge grants against Incineroar and Volcanion. High Horsepower and Heat Crash give Stakataka a more reliable way of dealing with Pokemon it would ordinarily do poorly against, as High Horsepower allows Stakataka to OHKO Heatran and 2HKO Metagross, while Heat Crash allows Stakataka to OHKO Amoonguss and Ferrothorn. However, both moves have limited applications outside of hitting those select Pokemon, and require Stakataka to forsake its Rock-type STAB or Protect to use them. Safety Goggles can also be used to match up better into Amoonguss without limiting Stakataka's coverage options at the cost of losing out on the extra power provided by Life Orb.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Trick Room is a field condition, not a battle condition
  • Stats like are capitalized like "Attack" and "Speed." Same with moves (i.e Trick Room)
  • I want you to flesh out the positives of Stakataka more, right now its basically just "gyro ball strong." You need to go more in depth into what staka does exactly (explain its defensive uses, how its wide movepool allows it to beat nearly all of its checks, beast boost, etc.) Right now it's very barebones.
  • Types are said like "Rock-type" for future reference.
  • Mention good partners for Stakataka.
  • The overview needs to be one paragraph.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • You can def combine the Gyro Ball line into one sentence. Also Urshifu-Rapid-Strike is "Urshifu-R"
  • tbh very few pokemon are slow enough to where they don't take much from Gyro Ball, so i'd just say how its coverage for the Fire-types that resist Gyro Ball. Also it'd be "Rock-type STAB move"
  • Mention Body Press in the same line as Stone Edge, as you'll be running one or the other. For what you'd want to say about Body Press, i'd do something like "Body Press can also be run to hit Heatran and Incineroar while ignoring Intimidate,"
  • Mention Trick Room
  • Just say how protect keeps Stakataka safe while a teammate comes in to support it or smth. Protect isn't just for Stakataka to set Trick Room, nor is it exclusive to offensive trick room setters.
  • EV spread line is overly complicated. Just say how the given spread allows Stakataka to get the Attack boost from Beast Boost. Also mention how you'd want to use Brave and 21 Defense IVs if you use Body Press.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Once again, Other Options needs to be one single paragraph

Overall good work for a first time writer, always nice to see people taking a stab at writing

contact me with any questions and when you've implemented this check wherever

[OVERVIEW]
  • You can condense the first line by saying how staka has "high Attack and Defense along with low Speed" or something. Also you don't need to say "physical Attack," just Attack is good.
  • "Due to Stakataka's wide movepool, it is able to outright beat nearly all of its checks and because of its ability Beast Boost it can very snowball and become difficult for the opposing team to handle." Wording for this also seems a tad bit off but I can't put a finger on it so its probably fine.
  • Move the Pokemon it works well with to the end of the overview and give more than "more reliable" Trick Room setters.
  • You can def make the lines about Stakataka's weaknesses. In your own words, say how the combination of its poor defensive typing and mediocre (it isn't actually awful) prevents it from setting up Trick Room without Fake Out or Redirection support. Then you can mention how its low speed leaves it vulnerable outside of Trick Room.
  • Use Heatran over Torkoal.
[SET COMMENTS]
  • Do the moves in order.
  • For the Trick Room line, say how Stakataka supports itself and it's teammates with Trick Room.
  • Say full Defense IVs instead of saying the number.
[OTHER OPTIONS]
  • Looks good
good work overall, there are issues with capitalization (and im 90% sure analyses use American English) but im fine with giving this the 1/2. Just do me a favor and comb through this with the Spelling and Grammer Standards, it'll help with a lot of the grammatical issues and make GP's life easier.

  • Rewrite the lead sentence a bit, just saying that "it has high attack and defence" isn't really its niche and what you have now basically boils down to it being a Trick Room attacker--incredibly generic. A lot of its niche as actually directy tied to Gyro Ball, so rewrite this to include it. Try something like "With its high Attack, Gyro Ball, and the slowest Speed stat in the metagame, Stakataka is something something strong offensive TR setter", or something to that effect.
  • Since above point would remove the high Defense mention, put it in the "defensive utility" part instead. Also mention its typing there; its what actually lets it go into the threats you mentioned.
  • Would remove the wide movepool part; it has access to a lot of good coverage moves, but its can't fit them all and it's usually walled by something specific depending on what it chooses. Just use the sentence to focus solely on Beast Boost, even mentioning that it has the option to choose between Attack or Defense if running Press.
  • Rewrite the unreliable setter part a bit. Its typing isn't necessarily poor (since you use it to say it checks some stuff), it's just that the typing itself is weak to plenty notable special attackers. Take this opportunity to cut on the redundancy as well, you mention poor defensive typing twice.
  • Put the low Speed as a weakness point after the above. Then mention the Fake Out and redirection support after. The low Speed point adds to the idea of Stak as a TR mon first. Rewrite the Fake Out + Redirection a bit to not be about being "typically needed" but rather as support to alleviate the weaknesses you introduced. Mention examples of Fake Out and redirection (one for each is enough).
  • Highlight the competition to Diancie more, with something like, "Most importantly," or something. Just say that it has better defensive capabilities (instead of better defensive typing (arguable) and higher bulk), cannot be Intimidated, and is generally more reliable. Also highlight Diamond Storm; it's generally a better move because spread + lets it similarly snowball.
Moves
  • Stone Edge: Name Fire-type targets. Fire-types such as...
OO
  • Rewrite the HH and Heat Crash lines a bit so that you only have to mention the opportunity cost once. Also, the opportunity cost is always Rock-STAB or Protect; TR is never dropped.
excellent job. overview stuff look like a lot but they're honestly not, i just show the principles of some writing decisions for your own personal reference. hope to see more from you.

Rock Slide acts as an alternative Rock-type STAB move for Stakataka,(RC) it has the valuable utility of being able to hit multiple pokemon at once but it loses the more immediate power of Stone Edge, crucially missing out on the otherwise Guaranteed OHKO on Incineroar, Volcanion and Torkoal as it hits both opposing Pokemon, although it misses out on the OHKOs Stone Edge grants against Incineroar and Volcanion. High Horsepower and Heat Crash give Stakataka a more reliable way of dealing with pokemon it would ordinarily do poorly against as High Horsepower allows Stakataka to OHKO Heatran and 2HKO Metagross while Heat Crash allows Stakataka to OHKO Amoonguss and Ferrothorn though it has very limited application beyond that and both of these moves force Stakatala to either give up its rock type STAB or Protect. .(AP) However, both moves have limited applications outside of hitting those select Pokemon, and require Stakataka to forsake its Rock-type STAB or protect to use them. notes for dnagerbdager
  • Try to keep the writer's voice and word choice intact as much as possible. For instance, the writer initially used the word "boasting" in the opening sentence; it is no longer there. While the sentence may make more sense to you that way, it's important to preserve the writer's own writing, if that makes sense.
  • Careful of run-on sentences like the opening one. You can only include so much info in one sentence, don't be afraid to split up sentences or even move parts of them around. I shifted the part about what Gyro Ball hits to later because it felt like its own point that deserved its own attention.
  • There is almost always a comma before "which". Check the last sentence of the overview for this.
  • "While" is often a troubling word for writers with regards to commas, so I'll let you in on the easy way to see if it needs a comma or not. If "while" is being used to mean "however" or "on the other hand" or something like that, it needs a comma. If it is being used to mean "at the same time" or something like that, it should not have a comma. Examples: With a comma: "My favorite Pokemon is Swablu, while yours is Buizel." Without a comma: "Barraskewda's Liquidation KOs Tapu Lele while rain is up."
There are a few other small errors that is totally fine, mostly ones that you just get better at with practice, so keep up with it!
