Hi. I just got to #1 and I'm really excited and love this team, but it still has a few flaws. This is my first post here so please bear with me if I make a mistake.
I started with the slowbro and amoonguss core because it counters so many things in the current meta except for greninja, who can hit both super effectively. With him out of the way this core loses to very little and can safely switch in over and over again to many common threats such as metagross and thunderus thanks to double regenerator. Flamethrower on slowbro is the only unorthodox move and it is for cocky steel types. The status lets it cripple anything such as rotom-w that thinks it can switch in and toxic puts a timer on many, but not all, set up sweepers.
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Flamethrower
- Toxic
Amoonguss has fantastic type synergy with slowbro and spore is garantueed to put one poke out of commission. Unfortunately, other grass types can switch in. Amoonguss easily beats breloom but loses to venasaur and can't touch ferro with hp ice. Hp ice is necessary for coverage though. Currently, clear smog is my best option vs set up such as calm mind clefable but I would like to find something better.
Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Spore
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Clear Smog
Heatran completes the FWG core with the ability to stop lati@s lacking eq, a big threat. It can also set up SR to capitalize on the switching. Leftovers is its only recovery except for wish passes but with protect and heatrans nice bulk/typing it is usually hard to wear down unless it gets hit by a ground type move or strong fighting move.
Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Lava Plume
- Toxic
- Protect
Sylveon acts as a cleric, providing heal bell support and passing wishes. It is great vs special attackers, especially those with psychic or ground type moves. Hyper voice becomes a strong stab move through pixilate.
Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Protect
- Hyper Voice
Skarmory is another physical wall to deal with physical dark types and dragon types that can hurt the rest of the team. It has defog over spikes because I have more trouble going against full stall teams with lots of hazards and don't usually have a chance to spikes.
Skarmory @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spe
Impish Nature
- Whirlwind
- Defog
- Roost
- Brave Bird
Sableye is my mega because of its ability, magic bounce. It is a bit tanky but is mainly focused on utility and crippling people through will o wisp and knock off. Sableye is a great lead and switch into some stall pokes. I have foul play because it is hilarious to watch a sweeper use swords dance then kill them with foul play.
Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Foul Play
- Will-O-Wisp
