Stall (Espathra) @ Clear Amulet

Calm Nature

- Roost

[SET COMMENTS]
* Espathra can utilize the Clear Amulet to stop any Speed drops from Primarina and Special Defense drops from Sylveon and non-Knock Off Hisuian Goodra.
* Calm Mind allows Espathra to become specially bulkier and strengthens its Special Attack, which, in conjunction with Speed Boost, allows it to fire off tremendously powerful Stored Powers after set-up, allowing it to deal with Primarina and Manaphy.
* Feather Dance is vital for surviving hits on the physical side, allowing it to live important attacks like Choice Band-boosted Giga Impact from Ursaluna and Earthquake from Donphan.
* Roost helps as a major recovery tool against the previously mentioned Pokemon, allowing Espathra to be a potent threat as long as it doesn't get critical hit.
* The HP and Defense EVs allow Espathra to take a -2 Choice Band-boosted Giga Impact follow by a -4 Choice Band-boosted Giga Impact after a Roost from Ursaluna. The Speed EVs ensure that Espathra outspeeds max speed Modest Raging Bolt. The rest of the EVs and nature are placed into Special Defense to give Espathra the best odds against Primarina and Sylveon.
* As its only attacking move is Psychic-type, Espathra naturally struggles against Dark-type Pokemon like Hoopa-U, Meowscarada, and Darkrai, good Pokemon that therefore work well as teammates because they threaten these are Iron Valiant and Chien-Pao.
* Espathra can also struggle to Steel-type Pokemon, like Metagross, Heatran, and Iron Crown, so Ground-type Pokemon like Flame Orb Ursaluna and Smack Down Landorus-T are great teammates for it.
* Taunt users like Counter Ogerpon-W and Raging Bolt are an issue as well, so faster Dragon-type Pokemon like Haxorus and Walking Wake can help in these matchups.

* Espathra can utilize its strong Speed Boost ability in combination with the Clear Amulet to stop any Speed drops from Primarina and Special Defense drops from Sylveon and Hisuian Goodra. (Goodrah will knock it nowadays)
* Calm Mind allows it to strengthen the power of its attacks while also becoming bulkier on the special side, allowing it to survive several attacks such as a Choice Specs Primarina Hydro Cannon, and a Life Orb Sylveon Hyper Beam.
* Stored Power increases its power tremendously after multiple Calm Minds and Speed Boosts, allowing Espathra to break through opposing Calm Mind users like Primarina and Manaphy.
* Feather Dance is vital for surviving hits on the physical side, as Espathra is quite frail, so it allows allowing it to live important attacks like Earthquakes from Choice Band Ursaluna and Donphan (Fluff)
* Roost helps as a major recovery tool against the previously mentioned threats, allowing Espathra to be a potent threat as long as it doesn't get critical hit.
* The HP and Defense EVs give Espathra the best odds to survive a Giga Impact from Choice Band Ursaluna after a Feather Dance, after which it should Roost and Feather Dance a second time to live the next Giga Impact, with the Special Defense helping it live Modest Life Orb Sylveon Hyper Voice into Hyper Beam after using Calm Mind twice.
* Note that if Choice Band Ursaluna decides to use Earthquake instead of Giga Impact, Espathra should Feather Dance twice as to avoid a 2HKO.
* As its only move is Psychic-type, Espathra naturally struggles against Dark-type Pokemon like Chien-Pao, Meowscarada, and Darkrai, good Pokemon that threaten these are Iron Valiant and Chilan Berry Volcarona. (We should probably mention hoopa-u considering its the best dark in the tier, and not include volcarona due to its iffy matchups against the same.)
* Espathra also loses to physical attackers that have the ability Clear Body, such as Metagross and Dragapult, as well as Defiant users like Annihilape, so other Pokemon like Scizor make for good teammates. (Sentence feels needlessly long. "Clear Body users" is consistent with the rest of the sentence, but i'll leave that up to you. Bolt might be another notable loss to mention)

(We can probably slash protect here for things like Landot)

New spread: 252 HP / 48 Def for -2 Ada Band Ursaluna Giga Impact + -4 Ada Band Ursaluna Giga Impact after roost, 16 Spe for Modest 252 Spe Raging Bolt (non-Taunt), rest dumped into SpDef for best Prim / Sylv odds.

* Espathra can utilize its strong Speed Boost ability (why is speed boost relevant to this line? even without it, esparathra is not getting stat drops. Maybe make speed boost a separate line?) in combination with the Clear Amulet to stop any Speed drops from Primarina and Special Defense drops from Sylveon and non-Knock Off Hisuian Goodra, as long as the last one doesn't carry Knock Off. If you want, you can mention SpA drops from Moonblast Prim asw because over so many turns of Moonblast it would become inevitable for a drop without Amulet)
* Calm Mind allows it to strengthen the power of its attacks while also becoming bulkier on the special side, allowing it to survive several attacks such as a Choice Specs Primarina Hydro Cannon, and a Life Orb Sylveon Hyper Beam. (Replace this example because it implies that Espathra beats LO Sylv, when the winpath is actually very nuanced--also the best play for Sylv is to CM turn one.)
* Stored Power increases its power tremendously after multiple Calm Minds and Speed Boosts, allowing Espathra to break through opposing Calm Mind users like Primarina and Manaphy.

I recommend combining the CM and stored power line and saying something like: "Calm Mind allows Espathra to become specially bulkier and strengthens its special attack, which, in conjunction with Speed boost, allows it to fire off tremendously powerful Stored Powers after set-up, allowing it to deal with x, y, and z."

* Feather Dance is vital for surviving hits on the physical side, allowing it to live important attacks like Earthquakes from Choice Band Ursaluna and Donphan. Choice Band-boosted Giga Impact from Ursaluna and Earthquake from Donphan. (Giga as the example on Ursa cus its the stronger move :pimp:)
* Roost helps as a major recovery tool against the previously mentioned threats, allowing Espathra to be a potent threat as long as it doesn't get critical hit.
* The HP and Defense EVs give Espathra the best odds to survive a Giga Impact from Choice Band Ursaluna after a Feather Dance, after which it should Roost and Feather Dance a second time to live the next Giga Impact, with the Special Defense giving it the best chances to live Modest Life Orb Sylveon Hyper Voice into Hyper Beam after using Calm Mind twice.
* Note that if Choice Band Ursaluna decides to use Earthquake instead of Giga Impact, Espathra should Feather Dance twice as to avoid a 2HKO. (This is really nitpicky, but Espathra can also use Feather dance twice if Ursaluna clicks Giga; whether you click Roost or Feather dance during the recharge turn doesn't really matter as long as u click the opposite move the following turn. So if you tell the reader in the previous line to click Feather Dance twice in a row vs Giga Ursaluna, you don't have to include this line since it's the same sequencing [Feather -> Feather -> Roost].)
* As its only move is Psychic-type, Espathra naturally struggles against Dark-type Pokemon like Hoopa-U, Meowscarada, and Darkrai, good Pokemon that therefore work well as teammates because they threaten these are Iron Valiant and Chien-Pao.
* Espathra also loses to some Clear Body users, such as Metagross and Dragapult, (Pult is a bad example because it doesn't win because of Clear Body; it wins because it's a faster Ghost attacker. I don't really like saying that Clear Body Pokemon beat Espathra because of Clear Body because that's only true in the case of Metagross. Everything else (Pult, Diancie, Registeel) beat it regardless of Clear Body) as well as Defiant users like Annihilape, so other Pokemon like Scizor (any other pokemon? 1 example is kinda weak) make for good teammates. Since it can shut it off with Taunt and deal tons of damage with its Booster Energy set, Taunt Raging Bolt is also an issue for Espathra, so it'd like another Pokemon to deal with it such as Ursaluna or Chien-Pao. (I'd assume that Taunt users in general are an issue for Espathra, and although most of them are Dark-types, there's still mons like Heatran that Espathra would also struggle with if they're running Taunt. I would add more Taunt user examples because only having Raging Bolt as a threat is kind of weak.)
