Stall Game

Done now, wahoo. Silly submit button makes me look bad :(

I've been using this team for a while with mixed success - I either win with no difficulty at all, or I get smacked down 5-0. So I need help D:

Also the first 3 (Hippo, Tangy, and P2) are my Wifi/BT team, so if you mentioned something about those three being separate, that would be nice

OM NOM NOM @ Leftovers
Impish - 176 HP, 168 Atk, 164 Def
Sand Stream
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Slack Off
- Roar

Physical Wall, SRocker and Phazer. Standard opener, not much to say.

tangrowth.png

Cookie Monster @ Leftovers
Impish - 252 HP, 212 Def, 44 Spd
Chlorophyll
- Leech Seed
- Sleep Powder
- Block
- Power Whip

Physical Wall, Trapper, and Sleep-Seeder. The idea is to Block on the first move, then if I decide to keep in Tangy, Sleep, Seed, and Stall them. He beats Gyarados and Blissey very well.

porygon2.png

Cyber Duck @ Leppa Berry
Calm - 232 HP, 236 SD, 40 SA
Trace
- Discharge
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Recycle

Special Sponger, Statuser, and Staller. This thing is amazing. Recover and good defenses mean this thing is hard to take down. Recycle and Leppa mean I never run out of PP if up against other stallers. Discharge and Ice Beam are the typica BoltBeam combo with Discharge adding in some Parahax chances. And Trace is fun for laughing at stuff like heatran, electivire, vaporeon, jolteon, and the like.

cradily.png

Anniemone @ Leftovers/Chesto Berry
Careful - 252 HP, 160 Def, 96 SD
Suction Cups
- Stockpile
- Rock Slide/Earthquake
- Toxic
- Rest

Wall and ToxiStaller. Sandstorm-boosted Cradily is a beast at taking special hits. Stockpile up, Toxic them, then attack and Rest if needed.
drapion.png

Koru @ Black Sludge
Impish - 220 HP, 236 Def, 54 Atk
Battle Armor
- Toxic Spikes
- Pursuit
- Brick Break
- Screech

Toxispiker, Toxispike spinner, Sorta Psuedo-Hazer, and attacker. My team has a major problem with status, particularly Toxic, and with it Toxic Spikes. As such, I added Drapion to relieve myself of it. The other three moves are a bit bleh, and I would like to replace them, but in their defense I must say that it is very, very amusing to Screech something, then hit it with Pursuit once it leaves the field. Brick Break is for some needed coverage.

slowbro.png

Toby @ Leftovers
Bold - 252 HP, 212 Def, 44 SA
Own Tempo
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Shadow Ball
- Slack Off

Mixed Wall and Special Attacker. Calm Mind up and go crazy. He works similarly to the imfamous Tobybro of RBY fame, hence the nickname. Shadow Ball is there over something such as Ice Beam or HP Electric because I already have those types coming from Pory2, plus it gives the best coverage next to Surf (the most notable pokemon that resists both moves is probably Empoleon, the next most notable is Bibarel, if you catch my drift).

I guess you got a little excited and hit enter early? lol

Okay well, your team has no real switch in, on either SD Lucario or DD Gyarados, hell even Scizor can set up on almost all of your pokemon. Even a DD Salamence could help out your team. I would consider maxing out your Hippowdons HP, and even consider running a lot more Def Ev's. I really don't think Sp. Def Ev's are necessary on it, but they can be helpful.

Personally I feel that Persish Song Celebi could be a bit more useful for you. It can leech seed and can recover, but I really don't think Leech Seed would be necessary. Perish Song Celebi is great for last pokemon CurseLaxes and CurseTars who could give you some trouble. I would consider that you run something a long the lines of:

Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold - 252 Hp / 220 Def / 36
Natural Cure
- Recover
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Perish Song

This set is probably one of my favorites, and has been really useful. It comes really handy when you need to get a stop on a rampaging pokemon, or just if you don't want to end the game in a hassle.

As for your Porygon2, I'm not really sure Recycle is such a good choice. Consider running like Mirror Coat, or Thunderwave, or even Tri-Attack if you're looking to get some sort of status out of it. I think Thunderwave could be pretty useful, as you can really piss off other players teams by statusing them all out.

That Cradily looks kind of iffy, as you're totally asking for Lucario to come in a set up on you. And if you change it to Earthquake, you're just asking for Gyarados and Salamence to set up on you. I guess you have toxic for those, but still, I wouldn't really consider that you use it. I would consider that you run a Forretress over your Drapion and Cradily, Forretress can set up Spikes and SR, and can even Spin. Cradily really doesn't look like it could be that effective of a pokemon for this stall team, or maybe it's just that set that's bothering me. Either way, something about it, is really not clicking for me.

With the free'd up slot, consider running a Zapdos, he can help you out with your Lucario troubles, and can switch into scizor as well giving you a nice defensive core. He fits nicely into this team, and really gives you the support that you need.

Zapdos @ Leftovers
Modest - 252 HP / 176 Speed / 80 Defense or Sp. Attack
Pressure
- Thunderbolt
- Roost
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power Ice / Substitute

Depending on what you want your Zapdos to do. Be a better tank, be a bit more of an onffensive threat, have better coverage, or be able to avoid status. You have a lot of possibilities with this set, and they all are quite effective. Substitute would probably be the better choice, as it helps you avoide Status and helps you get the advantage on pokemon that are switching out.

As for Slowbro, consider running a Vaporeon on that, as wish is of great help to this team. But even with Slowbro just a better set could be helpful. Consider something like Ice Beam / Thunderbolt / Surf / Slack Off, that will help you cover Gyarados/Salamence/Heatran and pokemon like that. Even has the ability to Recover help, Slowbro is a pretty cool mon, so I would try this set, and if it doesn't work out, consider running a Vaporeon over it.

Well sorry for the long rate, and all these changes to the team. I feel most of them could help out a lot, and I hope some of this helps you out. Good Luck with the team! ^_^

Well, I guess I'll rate what's here.

Change Hippos EVs around he doesn't need all of that attack I suggest you just change it to the standard spread from the analysis. 252 HP/ 16 Atk/ 152 Def/ 88 SpD

Full rate later?

Not funny ='(

The first three (Hippo, Tangy, and P2) are my planned Wifi/BT team for 3x3 battles, so you eager bibarels can get to it :O

Pretty good i see that you thought this team out its a couple things i would add:

Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold - 252 Hp / 220 Def / 36 Spc def
Natural Cure
Recover
Leech Seed
Grass Knot/Psychic/Earth Power
Thunder Wave/heal bell

I personally think that this should be in EVERY stall team just because how much this thing can do, it can heal HP with recover AND leech seed. then it can give status OR heal status. And can also take others down with your attacking move of choice.(suggest takig out tangrowth for it)

Next like SoT said zapdos. Zapdos is probably one of the best pokemon at sweeping, and stalling so i like using this set:

Zapdos @ Leftovers
252 HP, 232 Def, Rest in spc def
Timid
Roost
Light screen
Thunder Bolt
Subsitute/Heat wave/HP ice

Zapdos can easily sweep a team with this set, light screen lets you wall Spc sweepers which gives zapdos very good chance to sweep. Subsitute will let you sweep alot also if you can get one in. Then Heat Wave is too take down scizor, venasaur, and alot more the resist T-Bolt. HP ice is also for coverage.

Also think about putting a bronzong somewhere in there, either run these sets:

Bronzong @ Leftovers
252 HP,200 spc def, rest in def(4 speed IVs)
Sassy
Stealth Rock
Gyro ball
Hypnosis
EarthQuake/Explosion

Yes i see you already have hippo in there, but why waste leftovers effect with SS? i personnaly think this would be MUCH better to use. Also you can se TR (Trick Room) since your team is very slow.

Bronzong @ light clay
252 HP / 152 Atk / 8 Def / 96 SpD (4 Speed IVs)
Levitate
Reflect
Light Screen
Gyro Ball/Earth Quake
Explosion

Very good support also if you use this you can give my zapdos a fill move.

i used to lead a fortress with spikes/tspikes/stealth rock/explosion.
Not much to say here.

And if your stalling, try a flame orb milotic. never tried one myself, but sounds dang awesome.
you seem to have trouble vs. steels; its hard to outstall them. Maybe add heatran. Bulky resttalk lava plume earth power heatran's said to be good. not that ive ever tried that either.
Or you could be your own worst enemy and add your own salamence. dd/outrage/eq/flamethrower is tight.

"may the stall force be with you"

i dont understand, is this team based around letting the opponents hit you while you set up ... well whatever you are trying to set up?

Swords Dance Heracross, Lucario, and Scizor will have a field day.

God help us all if you face a SpecsMence or even worse a Specslucario (because cradily won't be walling hits from him)

And if you face any decent team consisting of something like heatran + salamence + suicune, you are without a doubt fucked, and you will be facing much better teams than that, so don't worry!

Lets remove the pokemon doing absolutely nothing for you first: Tangrowth can go, Cradily can go, and Slowbro can go. Stall teams are meant to use resistances, immunities, and defensive capabilities to succeed, not try and win with one pokemon. Tangrowth should definitely be replaced with the Celebi SoT suggested. Stall teams are meant to phaze and celebi can help save you from a potential suicune, raikou, ect. sweep. Although you might want to use Hidden Power Fire over that second recover (;D).

Celebi @ Leftovers
Bold - 252 Hp / 220 Def / 36 Spe
Natural Cure
- Hidden Power Fire
- Grass Knot
- Recover
- Perish Song

Celebi can actually deal with Scizor, Lucario, and Heracross to an extent that way, which in turn would allow you to skip over adding zapdos (ill get to this in a minute). Anyway, Celebi could definitely help you avoid close calls against all kinds of opponents.

Any stall team needs a ghost-type and this is where we put a good one over Slowbro. Since this is supposedly a "stall team" we can use a rotom-h for blocking spins as well as just a bit extra coverage over the swords dance threats. I would actually try out

Rotom-h @ Choice Scarf
Bold - 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
- Trick
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Reflect / Hidden Power Ice

Hidden Power Ice provides some sort of coverage on Salamence if for some reason you need it but more importantly gives you a cb flygon counter because porygon2 wont be intimidating him :D.

I would usually say "use blissey over cradily", but I don't know if this would make you too vulnerable to fighting-types. Instead, for now, Im gonna suggest using a very special defense orientated Vaporeon over Cradily or even a Sleep Talk Cresselia with a shitload of Special Defense. Im leaning towards Jirachi for wish healing.

Rotom-h, Hippowdon, Porygon2, Vaporeon, Drapion, Celebi isnt perfect but it is a start. Obviously the key to your success will be keeping alive and trying to deal out damage.

Onto some movesets, Porygon2 will benefit from twave + lefties a lot more than recycle. I dont even think recycle works but even if it does, stall wars wont be common with this team.

Er, Drapion should probably use Whirlwind, Earthquake, Pursuit, Toxic Spikes, screech seems cool with pursuit but usually, it wont be worth it when you are focusing on defenses and not planning on attacking.
Later on you may want to combine Vaporeon + Drapion into 1 and use Tentacruel and than free the last spot for Blissey (wish). But that would take another pokemon from you and im sure you want most of the team still there!
