INTRODUCTION

Hello to everybody and welcome on my RMT. It talks about my favourite team and most use team on BW. It is a Stall team, it can be surprising but this type of team is really efficace and funny to play. Stall can seem impossible on this generation because of the big number of offensive Pokemon but I want to show it's possible. Pokemon are classics on a Stall except maybe Latias and haven't got too much use except Gliscor and Tyranitar but his set is really rare. I originaly test Stall since the begening
of the fifth generation but it was impossible because of Darkrai, Shaymin and Deoxys. After their ban, I could play Stall with efficacity. It's an anti-metagame style of game but it's really excellent because it isn't expected. Enough talk about Stall, I'll present the team. I hope enjoy reading about the RMT.

IN DEPTH

205.gif

Forretress (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Gyro Ball
- Volt Switch

Forretress is an excellent Pokemon on a stall team. She can put all Entry Hasards, Spin Hentry Hasards and take a lot of physical hits. Ferrothororn or Skarmory can seem better for the team but I chose Forretress because shehas one advantage, the Spin. Forretress has an excellent typing, he can take a lot of powerful moves, especialy Outrage from Dragonite and Haxorus. Forretress is my main physical wall because she resist to all physical moves except fire ones which are uncommon. She will be my counter to a lot of sweeper especialy Ladorus, Scizor, Terrakion and Mammoswine because some of them can be a problem for Gliscor. Forretress has just one offensive move because I really need Stealth Rock and Spikes and all my other Pokemon have something to do. I don't need Toxic Spikes because Jellicent must burn important Pokemon such as Tyranitar and I wouldn't want, he'll be poison. Except this, all moves are self-explanory. Rapid Spin for remove Entry Hasards which are big problems for my team. Stealth Rock is the best move of the game for a Stall. Spikes form a good combinason with Stealth Rock because Pokemon who don't take a lot on Stealth Rock, take a lot on Spikes and conversely. Volt Switch help against Magnezone because he can destroy my team if Forretress is trapp and also for trapp Jellicent which would like to SpinBlock. The Evs spread can seem strange but work well. With 96 Evs in Special Defense, I reach 180 so I can resist to little Special hits and have an excellent physical bulk. I decided to change Stealth Rock to Gyro Ball for seting-up sweepers such as physical dragons and Scrafty.

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Recover
- Toxic
- Scald
- Earthquake

I removed Jellicent for Quagsire. They look like a lot. They have the same water types.. He forms a great core with Gliscor because they stop nearly all physicals sweepers. My reason to chose him is Unaware for stop boosting sweepers especialy physicals ones who my team can't stop like Scrafty DD, Landorus SD, Haxorus SD. Moves are classic on Quagsire. Recover for increase longevity, it helps against Nite, because I can take one Outrage on the switch and then use Recover too much. Toxic, because it's needed on a Stall. Scald for the stab, it helps to abuse of the Rain and can also burn, it helps for physicals sweepers. Earthquake for the second stab, it has a great coverage with his two stabs, it can also destroy Toxicroak, which is a pain. The repartition is straighforward, maximise HP and Defense for take of physical sweepers, just 248 Evs in HP for take the minimum with stealth Rock.

472.gif

Gliscor (F) @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 204 Def / 32 SDef / 16 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Taunt
- Protect
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang

Gliscor is a perfect candidate for a Stall. She has an excellent typing with interristing resistances especialy Bug and an immunity to Ground type. She also have an incredible Defense, can 1/8 of his Life with Poison Heal and can absorb statuts. Gliscor takes the maximum of physical hits, she is my main answer to Choice Bander Terrakion. The combinason of Forretress and Gliscor is just perfect for take physical hits, nobody can break this combinason. He can taking Volt-Turn with anticipation, he can come on all moves from Scizor and can come on Volt-Switch from Rotom-W. She is also a counter to a lot of SandStorm sweepers like Terrakion and Landorus without HP Ice. Toxic help to weak a Pokemon. Protect is for the recovery move and can also prevent for teh Trick. Earthquae for the Stab. Ice Fang for the coverage and for win again Dragons such as Dragonite. I would have been able to play the Sword Dancer but I really need Protect for Haxorus because without I'm 2HKO by Outrage and for Stall. 244 Evs in HP for have the maximum recovery HP with Poison Heal. 20 SpD Evs for resist to HP Ice from Sword Dancer Virizion with Life Orb and from the Calm Mind with Leftovers. I changed Toxic for Taunt for have a goos StallBreaker and also put 16 Evs in Speed for outsped Adamant Scizor SD for taunt him.

242.gif

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Def / 128 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Softboiled
- Stealth Rock

What is a Stall without Chansey/Blissey, they are obligatory as a Special wall. I prefer use the second one for don't lose damages with the Sand Storm, 6% from 714 HP, it's a lot and the Leftovers recovery again Sun and Rain is also a good thing. Blissey will be my primary switch to Special sweepers, Ninetales, Latios(except if I anticipe the trick), Rotom-W(it's the same thing), Politoed, Volcarona without the Sunshine, Heatran and some other Pokemon. All of them take Toxic. She is also my Wisher for help Tyranitar and Gliscor because they haven't a reliable recovery move and it helps to win the Weather War. Moves are classic, Sismic Toss for do correct damages. Toxic for poison a Pokemon, it helps for win the match and it's obligatory on a Stall, the combinason of Seismic Toss and Toxic touches anything except Gengar which can't do something to Blissey except the SubBalance but this one is really rare. Wish for help Gliscor and Tyranitar to do their jobs and Blissey can recover HP. Prtoect for prevent from the trick and recover HP with Wish. I changed the Evs spread for take more special hits and make profitable of Blissey's enourmos Special bulk.

248.gif

Tyranitar (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Pursuit
- Crunch
- Ice Punch
- Superpower

An other classic on a Stall, Scarf Tyranitar, better than ever and surprising. I play him because of the Sand Storm which helps to win matches. I play the Scarf for absorb the Trick and revenge kill CB and SD Haxorus, Tornadus and Dragonite CB especialy and trapp Pokemon a pain like Lati@s, Celebi and Jellicent but for this one, I prefer weak him before for don't have the burn. Tyranitar also help again Sunshine because all of them are weak to Tyranitar, he can easy revenge kill Venusaur but I must be carefull about Dugtrio which outspeed Tyranitar even with the Choice Scarf. Moves are self-explanory. Pursuit for trapp Psychic and Gost such as Lati@s and Gengar. Crunch for the powerful stab. Stone Edge for the second stab with a great power. Superpower for the coverage and also destroy Terrakion. I puted Ice Punch over Stone Edge for have a better accuracy and also beat Landorus.

380.gif

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Roar
- Dragon Pulse

Last but not least, there is Latias. She isn't common on a Stall but is a really important and effiace member of my team. She bring me a lot of useful resistances especialy the electric and the grass one. She is my only phazer, it helps to abuse of Entry Hasards. She can also put Calm Mind and be really destructive and resistant because of his high bulk and his good power. She help again Reuniclus especialy the Tick Room who I really hate and also the Calm Mind. Moves are classic on Latias. Calm Mind for boost the Special Attack and Special Defense, after 2, nothing can do something to Latias. Recover for have a better staying power, it helps to set-up more Calm Mind. Roar for preventing some sets-up and abuse of Entry Hasards. Dragon Pulse for the stab, it has a really good coverage. The maximum Evs in HP for take more hits. 92 Evs in Speed for outspeed and outrun Timid Heatran. The rest goes in Defense for take more physical hits, Evs in Special Defense are useless because of Calm Mind. I runed max speed for outspeed all other Dragon, Latios is outspeed because of HP Fire.

Jellicent (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Water Absorb
EVs: 212 HP / 48 Def / 164 SDef / 84 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Recover
- Scald
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt

All Stalls need a SpinBlocker, it wasn't hard for chose. Jellicent was the perfect Pokemon. He is one of the greatest mixed Staller. She has an excellent Special Defense and a good Defense so she easy blocks the Spin, even Life Orber Starmie can't 2HKO him. Set apart it, Jellicent is the best StallBreaker of the game, no stall can make her something with Taunt, and she also block the Spin of Forretress/Tentacruel. She also counter Rain because there isn't too much switches to Scald/Will-O-Wisp/Taunt and Jellicent can absorb water move. Moves are straighforward. Scald for the stab, it can burn sweepers, it can be useful to abuse of the Rain. Will-O-Wisp for burn a physical sweeper especialy Scizor,Terrakion and Tyranitar. Recover help to have a better staying power. Taunt for StallBreak. The Evs Spread looks strange so I'll explain it. Evs in HP and Special Defense let me to resist to 2 Thunder from Leftovers Starmie in Rain, resist to one from Life Orber Jolteon, resist to 2 Hurricane from Life Orber Tornadus and easytake Volt Switch from Rotom-W even if it's not the purpose. With 84 Evs in Speed, I can outspeed most of Stallers ,Skarmory and another Jellicent are outspeed. With 44 Evs Def, I can take Scizor too much before the burn. IVs and the nature are for be outspeed for use Volt Switch after the other Pokemon.

CONCLUSION

Thanks to read my first RMT and post on Smogon. I hope you enjoyed the RMT. Excuse me for my bad english because I'm spanish. Don't hesite to test my test my team, the importation and the RMT is here for this. I tried to make complete descriptions but if you have a suggestion, a question or any comment, say that to me. I'll happy if my team will have made for you tested the Stall.

It looks like Scrafty shits on you. I would suggest putting Gyro Ball over Volt Switch on Forretress, because maybe that can help against him. I know you have Gliscor and Tyranitar have Superpower, but he still outspeeds Tyranitar after +1 and he have Ice Punch. I also think that since this team is a stall based team, you really need all the hazards up as quick as possible, and i don't think Forretress can set up all the hazards by himself. So i suggest for you to put Stealth Rock on Blissey or make a defensive Tyranitar with it, and then you can replace Stealth Rock with Gyro Ball on Forretress, and then you don't need to replace Volt Switch with it.

Really nice team, good job! ^^

Hello, one big problem I found on your team is its inability to handle opposing physical dragons because forry is your only dragon resist, and forry cannot touch dragonite, salamance or haxorus with only volt switch. To compensate for this I would recommend running max speed on your latias with a Timid Nature allowing for you to outspeed all other dragons bar scarf variants and do some nice damage with dragon pulse also allowing you to outspeed banded terrakion. Another thing you should do would be replace leftovers on forretress for shed shell and remove volt switch for gyro ball, this will allow you to keep wish + protect on your blissey for healing teamates and allow you to hit dragons decently.

Finally I would recommend changing your gliscor set, because once Tyranitar is out of the way, nothing can handle a lucario and lucario also hits every member of your team super effectively bar forretress, which is just a free setup for lucario. This team also has a bit of a problem with bulk up conkeldurr gliscor can come in on it but without taunt you will be doing very minimal damage with eq while he bulks up on your face, and toxicing it will even aid the conkeldurr in sweeping you. To stop both problems just make a few minor adjustments to Gliscor.
Gliscor: Toxic Orb w/ poison heal
252 Hp / 40 Def / 216 Speed Nature: Impish/Jolly
Protect
Earthquake
Toxic
Substitute

This is a great pokemon to have on a stall team, allowing you to come in on Conkeldurr, toxic it, then sub protect and repeat until it dies not even landing a single hit on you. Also Subbing then protecting heals all the hp back that was lost so you can keep gliscor at full health while stalling out many pokemon. Now the speed evs along with a jolly nature, allow you to outspeed all forms of lucario bar a random scarf set and ko with earthquake, the only problem with this strategy is a lucario on a balloon, to help with this I recommend switching to forretress first to break the balloon with a gyro ball then bringing in gliscor to get the ko. You'll find that with the right prediction, gliscor can stall its way throught many of its checks as well such as latios rotom w etc if any of these are caught in with you behind a sub you will easily toxic it then stall them out.
Nice team here, I personally prefer stall as well, hope the rate helped.

Just a really quick glance rate, but yeah I have to agree with sukapunch's rate. You really lack a dragon resist and a lot of physical threats easily slip though gliscor and Jellicent. Basically you need a stonger physical wall here.

You could use a Skarmory or Hippowdon as a more sturdy wall. You could use them over Gliscor as a better wall that way. But I suggest you use one of them over Latias, as between Tyranitar and Blissey you already cover most special threats.

Edit: yeah Conduit is right, your Blissey is not to her potential, but not in the way he ment. Use a spread of 6 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD for enough physical defense, and much more special defense.

I absolutely love stall! Btw, never listen to anyone that says stall cannot work, because many people have very high success with it. Anyway, there seems to be a close distinction to one of Delko's hail stall, so the team is obviously very solid, with similar weaknesses however.

The biggest threat to this team happens to be very offensive Ground types, such as Gliscor, with Sand Veil, and Sub Landorus. To accomodate, I would change that Ev spread you currently run on Gliscor to 120 Hp / 236 Def / 154 Speed, this also allows you to outspeed Adamant Dragonite, Jolly Breloom and some other common threats. Also, even better is to add Ice Punch on Tyranitar! It will be able to outspeed and OHKO Landorus, and possible Gliscor after some extent of residual rock damage.

As I mentioned before, you really suffer against Dragon type that are Physically offensive... Dragonite with Multi-scale can easily take a Stone Edge and then set up or take out Tyranitar, in which case you lose sustenance to a few annoying pokemon like Reuniclus.

The final problem is that your Blissey set is wasting the full potential. Why waste two move slots to try and pass Wish when most of your pokemon already have reliable forms of recovery, bar Forry and TTAR, plus Wish is easily countered with Prediction.
I suggest running...
Flamethrower (You lack it)
Softboiled
Heal Bell
Toxic

Also, besides Gliscor you really have no reliable counter to easily take out a Late game Scizor with SD and Roost... Try adding HP fire on Latias if you can...

Overall, great stall, keep up the work ;).

Hey, cool team. I recall building a similar team with Kevin Garrett when he tutored me and Blue Blur and PenguinX also ran some teams like this as well. Overall, the build is really effective and can check almost every threat in BW if played properly. The fact that you've used Jellicent does kind of open you up to some threats, however, since you depend on Gliscor for the majority of the walling, the team is inevitably weak to the few physical threats that Gliscor can't cover, many of which are specifically designed to beat Gliscor. Among these Pokemon are Dragon Dance Scrafty, SD Lucario and Landorus with HP Ice, all of which carry Ice Punch, which KOs Gliscor and often lead to a sweep after that. You can kill Lucario with ScarfTar, but you're hard pressed to stop Scrafty after it has boosted. Anyways, I'd like to advocate using Quagsire in place of Jellicent. This may sound a bit radical as you're losing a definite spinblock, but I do think you can compensate for it. First off, Quagsire is an excellent partner to Gliscor and the two can wall nearly all of the metagame's threats, along with Forretress who can beat Haxorus, which is one of the only Pokemon the aforementioned core is hard-pressed to beat. Quagsire also functions as an excellent counter to DD Scrafty, which can't even touch it and it also beats Lucario 1 on 1, same with Landorus. On the issue of losing Jellicent, well this team can actually beat all of the common Spinners in the metagame. Starmie is absolutely roasted if it switches into Forry, who can Volt Switch to ScarfTar [or you could just double switch into it], Tenta is worn down by constant attacks as long as you can keep sand up and other stuff like Forry, Donphan etc are in the same predicament as Tentacruel, but lack Rain Dish. Any Wishes passed to these spinners can just be Roared away. Overall, I'd say that covering threats is a larger issue than blocking spins, especially because you can wear down/defeat nearly every rapid spinner in the game with this team. I'd also like to propose running Gyro Ball on Forretress over Steath Rock and moving SR to Blissey [nix wish for Softboiled and put SR over Protect]. As Conduit said, Wish can be countered with prediction and only affects TTar and Forry, the latter of which is extremely durable with Leftovers and the latter of which doesn't appreciate Wish all that much, especially since it's not able to switch in on a whole lot. Anyways, Forretress loves to have both Gyro Ball and Volt Switch, the latter of which allows it to switch out to ScarfTar to kill incoming Starmie, Tentacruel and Jellicent, while the former allows Forretress to beat a few prominent threats 1 on 1, as well as deal a ton of damage to Gengar. With Gyro Ball, Forretress can beat Swords Dance Virizion [which could be sort of a threat since it takes Gliscor 2 or 3 turns to KO it and Latias takes a lot from +2 Stone Edge], as well as all variants of Haxorus, which I mentioned as a pretty big threat earlier, since Gliscor has a really hard time taking its massive hits. Even if Gliscor does beat Haxorus, it's often weakened enough for another Pokemon to break through it and possibly pull off a sweep. Overall, Gyro Ball is really valuable to Forretress and allows it to deal a ton of damage to some incoming Pokemon, as well as beat some pretty big threats, such as Landorus, Virizion and Haxorus.

Quagsire (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Recover
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Toxic

Change Summary:

Forretress:
Stealth Rock-> Gyro Ball [Relaxed Nature and 0/1 Speed IVs]

Blissey:
Wish-> Stealth Rock
Protect-> Softboiled

A few more options you could try out are Taunt>Toxic on Gliscor and changing Latias's EV Spread to the standard one of 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe. Having Taunt on Gliscor can help you out against SD Scizor to an extent, as well as stop Pokemon like Forretress and Ferrothorn from setting up hazards; I'd also throw 16 of your EVs into Gliscor's speed, so that it can outrun SD Scizor. Taunt also gives you a hard counter to Ferrothorn, which this team lacks otherwise, given that it stops Leech Seed as well as prevents hazards. Toxic is pretty good in its own right, but Taunt seems like it would help a bit more. I think you could change up Latias's EV Spread to the aforementioned standard one, given that you already have 3 team members which are adept at taking Physical hits and Latias is fantastic at abusing its speed tier. Latias is able to outspeed and CM against a good portion of the metagame, which allows it to get the jump on stuff like NP Celebi and tank its boosted hits thanks to your own boosts in SpDef. Running Max Speed also allows you to outspeed Infernape, Virzion, Landorus and a lot more speedy threats that are susceptible to being revenge killed by Dragon Pulse. Overall, I've found running max speed to be extremely useful on Latias and Latias isn't completely defenseless without Def EVs; it's still relatively bulky.

dpiconani380.gif

Latias (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Roar
- Roost
- Dragon Pulse

Change Summary:

Gliscor:
Toxic-> Taunt
Current EVs->16 SDef, 16 Spe to outrun SD Scizor

Thanks everyone for Rates and comments, they means a lot. I'll change Forretress' set with Gyro Bal over Stealth Rock and Blissey's set with Softboiled over Wish and Stealth Rock over Protect and his Evs to 128 HP/252 Def/128 SDef. I'll remove Jellicent for Quagsire which help me a lot after some tests. Beause of the lack of Stall Breaker, I'll try Taunt over Toxic on Gliscor and 16 Evs in Speed to Gliscor for outspeed SD Scizor. I'll try Ice Punch on Tyranitar, over Stone Edge. I'll change Latias' spread.
