STall/Surprise attack team

Hi,

I was sitting around a few days ago being board and an idea came to me. Why not make a stall team and a surprise attack team. This is basicly a stall team that can do damage as well.

Well without any further ado here it is:

[no lead as of yet]

Doexys-[speed forum] @?
Timid nature

Calm Mind
Shadow Ball
Psychic
Grass Knot

EVs: 252sp att 252speed 4HP

Doexys is a great asset of this team. He can take some special hits after a few Calm Minds and is deadly with sp atts combined with his speed.

Suicune@Leftovers
Bold nature

Surf
Calm Mind
Ice Beam
Roar

EVs: 252HP 252def 4sp att

Standered CMCune only with Ice Beam over Reflect

Blissey@Leftovers
Modest nature

Ice Beam
Calm Mind
Softboiled
Flamethrower

EVs: 4HP 252def 252sp att

ability: Serene Grace

A great special wall and a surprise special attacker.

Skarmory@Leftovers
Careful nature

Spikes
Roost
Brave Bird
Swords Dance

EVs: 252HP 116att 112sp def 28 def

Standered def wall Skarm only with Swords Dance over Whilwind.

Infernape@Expert Belt
Hasty nature

Close Combat
Grass Knot
Flamethrower
Nasty Plot

EVs: 252sp att 232speed 24att

Ahh my favourite, the MixApe. Great for taking out other peoples walls and a surprise considering my other pokemon [other than deoxys] are walls.

Cresselia@Leftovers
Bold nature

Grass Knot
Ice Beam
Moonlight
Calm Mind

EVs: 4HP 252def 252sp att

Ahh the Calm Mind Cress. Great at taking hits she can do alot of damage after a few Calm Minds. A real Pain to face near the end of a battle.

Well that my newest team.

What do you think?

I think you want a rock resist, otherwise CBTar / Jolly DDtar will rape this.Something simple like changing your Suicune (there's a reason this has declined in use this gen) to a standard Mixpert will help this team a lot.

After that I'd probably eliminate Calm Mind from 3 of the 4 Pokemon that use it, lol. Rest-Talk on Cressy, or AT on Bliss is preferred.

Deoxys-e as a purely special sweeper seems like a waste , and you've already got your solid mixed sweeper in Infernape. Pick one or the other, and replace the one you don't use with another stall-ish Pokemon. Something with Rapid Spin preferably.

To be honest I'd just ditch the concept of stat raising on this team all together (other than maybe your infernape/deo). If you play with stall, you're going to find the most success by using as many defensive/support moves as possible, not just randomly raising your stats. If you want to threaten your opponent with high powered assaults, run a sweeper team. If you're seeking a middle ground, run a good mix of both types of Pokemon, and use them for their intended purposes.

I'm going to leave it at that because I'm more or less just giving you general advice about Pokemon, and just reconstructing your entire team.

What do you mean by Mixpert?

What is I replace my Doexys with this Fortress and make him my lead:

Fortress@Leftovers
Impish nature

Rapid Spin
Spikes
Toxic spikes
Rest

Evs: 252HP 252def

What if I give Blissey Aromathropy over Calm Mind and Seismic Toss over Ice Beam?

This is by no means a Stall team. Stall teams rely on Secondary damage not on Stat-ups.

And would you care to explain why you run a +SpDef nature and SpDef EV on a Skarmory? It's wasting his ability to take on physical threads. Also Breave Bird does not very well play with Swords Dance since the recoil is going to be massive

Well since Skarm has great def and not so great sp def I was raising it so that it can take some speciaal hits.

Now I've been thinking about the advice you guys have been giving and its really great. So I've some up with another stall team. What do you guys think:

[no lead yet]

Blissey@Leftovers
Bold nature

Seismic Toss/Stealth Rock/Toxic
Softboiled
Stealth Rock
Flamethrower/Stealth Rock/Toxic

EVs: 252HP 252def 4sp att/sp def

Not to sure on what to put on this Blissey.

Skarmory@Leftovers
Careful nature

Spikes
Roost
Brave Bird
Whirlwind

EVs: 252HP 116att 112sp def 28 def

Standered Defence Skarmory.

Swapert@Leftovers
Relaxed nature

Stealth Rock
Surf
Ice Beam
Earthquake

EVs: 252HP 156def 100sp att

Forrtress@Leftovers
Impish nature

Spikes
Toxic Spikes
Rapid Spin
Explosion

EVs: 252HP 252def 4sp def

The teams Rapid spinner. Lays down more Spikes and Toxic Spikes making the for think twice about switching with all the spikes and Stealth Rock around.

Infernape@Expert Belt
Hasty nature

Close Combat
Flamethrower
Nasty Plot
Grass Knot

EVs: 252sp att 232speed 24att

Mixape for killing others walls.

Cresselia@Leftovers
Bold nature

Grass Knot
Ice Beam
Rest
Sleep talk

Not to sure on this Cress but it could work.

Well thats my new team. Not much changes but still a bit different.

Ok why the hell does Skarm have SD? Whirlwind makes it a much more effective wall and all SD is doing is boosting Brave Bird which is unneccessary, and you'll die easier, due to the extra recoil you'd take.

You're also 6-0'ed by SD Lucario so add Gliscor>Skarm as this doesn't look anything like a stall team and you're not taking advantage of the Spikes by using Swords Dance. Gliscor does that job, except much, much better.

Edit: Please use the EDIT button next time.

Please put an EV spread on Cresselia.

Skarm shouldn't be taking special hits better at the cost of him not being able to do his normal job.

Now Mixape with Fire Blast 6-0's you in addition to Lucario. Taunt Heatran laughs at this team as well. Try Tentacruel>Forretress to lay Toxic Spikes and Rapid Spin, as two Spikers is unneccessary, as is two Stealth Rockers. This allows you to have a more reliable counter to those 2. Search for Obi's Stall Team to see what a real Stall looks like.

What about:

Starmie@

Rapid Spin
Recover
Reflect
Grass Knot

EVs: 252HP 126def 126sp def 4sp att

And to stop others from Spinning my stuff away what about:

Dusknior@Leftovers
Jolly nature

Pain Split
Earthquake
Pursiut
Ice Punch

EVs: 252HP 126def 126sp def 4att

I tried the link to Obis team but it wouldn't work.

I'll put Glisor in later I have to go now.

The pokemon he used were Hippowdon, Spiritomb, Blissey, Celebi, Skarmory, and Tentacruel.

Starmie is also an option as a MixApe counter, but lacks the Toxic Spikes you originally wanted. Unfortunately neither Starmie, nor Dusknoir helps you out vs. SD Luke, so you will get swept by one.

Please edit your original post, it makes rating teams alot easier.
