Stall with a bite: Platinum Edition

This is a variation of an old stall team of mine, built to handle Platinum additions (and abuse them in some cases)

The Lineup:

260.png

Swampert, Relaxed nature, 240hp/216def/52sp. atk @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Stealth Rock
Roar
Earthquake
Ice Beam

Standard lead mixpert. Roar so setups have a harder time (and to get rid of stuff that can wall it, like Zong), as this is a stall team. Swampert also serves as an essential Tyranitar and Metagross counter

73.png

Tentacruel, Calm nature, 204hp/96sp. atk/172sp. def/36spe @ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
Surf
Ice Beam
Spikes
Knock Off

This is a somewhat standard tentacruel, here to wreak havoc by spiking and such. Knock off over rapidspin/tspikes because taking an item off of a switch in to tentacruel (oftentimes it will score an essential choice item or leftovers) can really be great for reducing their damage output or survivability. Also, mixape counter

Rotom-H (too lazy to look for the proper sprite whatever), Timid nature, 252hp/128def/128spe @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Overheat
Thunder Bolt
Shadow Ball
Thunder Wave

Paralysis support antispin rotom ftw. Excellent way to stop any chance at a spin and severely punishes anything attempting to come in. The first of my two paralyzers. EVs are also shit, going to fix them soon.

110.png

Weezing, Bold nature, 252hp/252def/4sp. atk @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Fire Blast
Thunder Bolt
Pain Split
Will-O-Wisp

Weezing is a total pain for any physical attacker out there, WoW rapes their attempts at offense while pain split can score some cheap HP off of something slowed by Paralysis. No idea why it's still UU as nowadays it's a very solid Lucario/Scizor counter.

143.png

Snorlax, Adamant nature, 252atk/252sp. def @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
Pursuit
Body Slam
Fire Punch
Earthquake

Surprisingly effective special wall given the fact that a lot of the special attackers out there will get slaughtered by pursuit. CB ensures that it really fucking hurts. Body slam provides paralysis support which makes my cleanup/main revenger rape hard.

389.png

Deoxys - S, Hasty nature, 160atk/240sp. atk/106spe @ Expert Belt
Psychic
Superpower
Thunder Bolt
Ice Beam

This thing will essentially burn through an entire team in a flash if its counters are gone and it's taken a bit of wear and tear. Psychic is mostly so a relatively intact Heracross or Infernape doesn't ruin my day by surviving a neutral hit. The only thing I really gain coverage on with shadow ball is cressie.

Okay, team looks good but it seems like it's lacking a bit. You may want to throw in a Hippo over Weezing/Deoxys seeing as how you have no pokemon that can switch into a CBTar's crunch without getting threatened with a 2hko. Hippo will also add in SandStorm which negates opponents leftovers, that's always a plus.

Running a Curselax over your CB lax could help out as well, seeing as you have 1 pokemon that really take your special hits, Tentacruel, and it has no recovery, so you have to be careful about when switching it in. CurseLax will give you a good offensive presence, and give a you a pokemon that can take hits like no other.

This team looks like it'll have some trouble with taking a Salamence in outrage. You have one option really, and that's revenge kill with Deoxys, but if it's carrying a Yache you could be in some serious trouble. That leads me back to Hippo, a Hippo loaded with Defense and HP Ev's could help you take a lot of physical hits, and it has access to a recovery move which helps out a lot when running stall teams.

This looks like a pretty solid team, and I hope you take my advice into consideration. Good luck and have a nice day.
