Stall woop woop (OU RMT)

I've always held a special place in my Pokéheart for stall teams. They're just sick. And I love making the opponent angry.

Okay that's enough for an introduction.

TEAM SUPER PANZER

@ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Roar

This guy is a real team player. Good typing, excellent stats, Sandstorm, and of course Stealth Rock, which everybody hates. I've been seeing far less Taunt/Trick leads lately (lol Metagross) and Hippowdon does much better now than he did a few months ago. I'll basically set up Stealth Rock on the inevitable Metagross which seems to have come to lead EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN OU and then switch to Rotom-H, who checks him pretty soundly. Hippowdon then can come in later in the game to Earthquake weakened Pokes or just Roar like a motherfucker.

@ Leftovers
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Encore
- Rest
- Toxic

This little demon is underused as fuck and I don't see why. Okay, so maybe you say it doesn't do that much - but it can. Knock Off and Encore are two ridiculously useful moves; I use both of them on almost every sweeper I switch this ridiculously bizarre worm creature into and then I Toxic them or whatever. In the sand, Shuckle is a better mixed wall than Cresselia and its typing is pretty damn good too (Stealth Rock weakness isn't as bad as it seems when this bugger takes roughly 10% damage from everything that isn't a dedicated attacker).

@ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/64 Atk/176 Def/16 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost

Another physical champion. I've always liked Skarm more than Forretress if only for the fact that it can phaze and Brave Bird is much more powerful than you would think it is. Also, for whatever reason it's always seemed to me that Skarms just "feels" bulkier than Forry - even though I'm pretty sure Forretress has better defensive stats. I think it might be due to the fact that Skarms is immune to Earthquake.

dpffa242.png
@ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave

I honestly would not consider any stall team complete without this fat whore. Well, maybe a hail stall team (but who cares, Hail stall sucks). I ran a Aromatherapy set over Wishbliss because two of my pokes rely on Rest for recovery and Aromatherapy is generally just useful on a stall team. Thunder Wave is for paralyzing sweepers mostly, and I'm not particularly worried about Electivire because nobody uses him anymore since everybody figured out he's worthless and anyways Shuckle and Rotom both wall him nicely. Wishbliss might work better here just for the purpose of being a general dick, but I do like increasing the longetivity of my Shuckle by swapping these two around.

dpmfa073.png
@ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Knock Off

Toxic Spikes are really fun, and Tentacruel is probably the best Pokemon in the game for setting them up. Sadly Tentacruel sort of sucks at everything else. He's decently speedy, so I generally switch him in on something slow and then Toxic Spike and then Rapid Spin or something if I'm still alive. Honestly once Tentacruel does his valuable job of setting up Toxic Spikes he's more or less dead. Still, he's useful.

@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 180 HP/128 Def/200 SpAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick

Comments tentative, as I'm still testing him out.

Feel free to rate.

I really like your use of shuckle. This stall team is pretty unique and you seem to have the majority of threats covered looking through. There are some dangerous threats that you do not really have good counters against. The two main threats to this team are SD Lucario with crunch. With SR support and a bit of Damage Hippo goes down which is really bad for you as it will proceed to sweep the rest of your team. Fortunately there is a solution put all the evs on Hippow into defense you should more easily counter lucario.

Perhaps the biggest danger to these team is defensive CM latias who can beat blissey one on one and then proceeds to sweep CM rachi fits in this boat as well. For you to counter this you need to switch out Skarmory for Forretress run 252hp/252sp.def impish spikes, toxic spikes, rapid spin and Payback. Payback helps you take on Latias forcing it to switch out or die it will also allow you to spin more easily against rotom who wont like it.

With forretress you no longer need tentacruel which can be relaced by Celebi. Celebi helps you against CM Jirachi who your team also battles with through the move perish song. Run the standard set in the analysis and pick either reflect or leech seed as your final option.

Blissey evs need to be changed and i suggest you run this set. 252def/252sp.def seismic toss, wish, protect, toxic/ice beam. Ice beam will help you against ghosts like gengar who will rip your team up other wise. It will also ensure Salamence has a real hard time switching in flamethrower could be used and hits steels hard. Wish will heal forrey keeping it alive for much longer.

The last poster brings up valid suggestions concerning what you are weak to, but his solutions are bunk. There is a simple solution to both AND Gyarados - Scarf Rotom. Scarfed Rotom-H gives you a perfect SD Lucario/Scizor and DD Gyara counter, a much-needed Trick taker, and a way to screw over CM/Curse types too. Switch him in on a CM/Curser and trick the scarf onto them. If you are lucky, you catch them on CM/Curse or their recovery move. If they attack, since they should only have 1 boost at this point, merely switch in something that resists the attack (curse) or Blissey (cm) and watch them cry.

He needs his spin blocker to stay alive it is an extremely important member of his team. Gyarados is easily handled by both Celebi and Rotom-H and Scarf Rotom can be problematic but there is a solution. Trick is not that problematic for a stall team as long as you know how to handle it. Ie let your spiker take the trick in this case forretress. Forretress does not really mind being tricked and can still perform the role fairly well. One of the main reasons i choose protect on Blissey is because that way you can know when you will be tricked if a special attacker chooses to face up against you. You also mention curses and CMers i have provided solutions for CMers but curses are handled by Roar on Hippow and Swampy is handled by Celebi. Furthermore who the hell is going to leave their Curser in on a possible tricker as you say your argument and your suggestions are "bunk".

I think both sets of suggestions have merrit, however i must agree that somce so many pokes got trick in platinum.... people are scared to death of anything that packs the move. A trick attempt will generally fail as long as they have a choiced poke, because the strategy has become so common now.

Team updated. I decided to try out a Scarfed Rotom for now - it seems interesting, although I'm still just testing him out. Any suggestions on the EV spread (I couldn't find any analyses for this guy) would be appreciated.

this is a nice team, except i would seriously concider putting toxic over thunder wave on blissey. stall is all about secondary damage and by paralyzing sweepers you make them immune to the toxic spikes you run. this team currently has no way to deal with zapdos, rotom, togekiss or any special sweeper that is immune to toxic spikes without having to pp stall. this may be of minor importance but if you toxic a dugtrio switch in you can sometimes stall it out. with thunder wave all your doing is giving it a free switch in
