I've always held a special place in my Pokéheart for stall teams. They're just sick. And I love making the opponent angry.
Okay that's enough for an introduction.
TEAM SUPER PANZER
@ Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP/168 Def/88 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Roar
This guy is a real team player. Good typing, excellent stats, Sandstorm, and of course Stealth Rock, which everybody hates. I've been seeing far less Taunt/Trick leads lately (lol Metagross) and Hippowdon does much better now than he did a few months ago. I'll basically set up Stealth Rock on the inevitable Metagross which seems to have come to lead EVERY SINGLE TEAM IN OU and then switch to Rotom-H, who checks him pretty soundly. Hippowdon then can come in later in the game to Earthquake weakened Pokes or just Roar like a motherfucker.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Knock Off
- Encore
- Rest
- Toxic
This little demon is underused as fuck and I don't see why. Okay, so maybe you say it doesn't do that much - but it can. Knock Off and Encore are two ridiculously useful moves; I use both of them on almost every sweeper I switch this ridiculously bizarre worm creature into and then I Toxic them or whatever. In the sand, Shuckle is a better mixed wall than Cresselia and its typing is pretty damn good too (Stealth Rock weakness isn't as bad as it seems when this bugger takes roughly 10% damage from everything that isn't a dedicated attacker).
@ Leftovers
Ability: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP/64 Atk/176 Def/16 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Brave Bird
- Roost
Another physical champion. I've always liked Skarm more than Forretress if only for the fact that it can phaze and Brave Bird is much more powerful than you would think it is. Also, for whatever reason it's always seemed to me that Skarms just "feels" bulkier than Forry - even though I'm pretty sure Forretress has better defensive stats. I think it might be due to the fact that Skarms is immune to Earthquake.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Aromatherapy
- Softboiled
- Seismic Toss
- Thunder Wave
I honestly would not consider any stall team complete without this fat whore. Well, maybe a hail stall team (but who cares, Hail stall sucks). I ran a Aromatherapy set over Wishbliss because two of my pokes rely on Rest for recovery and Aromatherapy is generally just useful on a stall team. Thunder Wave is for paralyzing sweepers mostly, and I'm not particularly worried about Electivire because nobody uses him anymore since everybody figured out he's worthless and anyways Shuckle and Rotom both wall him nicely. Wishbliss might work better here just for the purpose of being a general dick, but I do like increasing the longetivity of my Shuckle by swapping these two around.
@ Black Sludge
Ability: Liquid Ooze
EVs: 252 HP/120 Def/136 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Surf
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Knock Off
Toxic Spikes are really fun, and Tentacruel is probably the best Pokemon in the game for setting them up. Sadly Tentacruel sort of sucks at everything else. He's decently speedy, so I generally switch him in on something slow and then Toxic Spike and then Rapid Spin or something if I'm still alive. Honestly once Tentacruel does his valuable job of setting up Toxic Spikes he's more or less dead. Still, he's useful.
@ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 180 HP/128 Def/200 SpAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Thunderbolt
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
Comments tentative, as I'm still testing him out.
Feel free to rate.
