As if stall teams weren’t annoying enough. My intention when I designed this team was to create the most annoying team possible that would also be very successful. I really enjoy teams that require strategy and this is why I love the idea of a stall team that utilizes toxic and bulkiness to wear teams down. Here is my team, Stalled to the Wall!
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Rain Dish
252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spe
Bold
-Toxic spikes
-Rapid spin
-Scald
-Hex
Tentacruel is the pokemon that sets this team up for victory and protects it from utter demise. Toxic is my favorite status and because of this I use this guy to set up my T-spikes. Since this is a stall team, I cannot afford for any of my members to get badly poisoned so I love the fact that Tentacruel removes opposing toxic spikes when he enters play, no rapid spin required. Scald is there to possibly get a burn on a physical attacker and with all the status this team throws around, hex allows me to hit those ghost spin blockers hard. I chose to go with rain dish because with the prevalence of drizzle teams, the extra recovery is very nice and I have other Pokemon who can wall drain moves.
Considered Changes:
-Changing Rain Dish to Liquid Ooze
-running 240 SpD and Careful in order to take special hits better since this guy isn’t taking physical hits well in the first place
Quagsire @ Leftovers
Unaware
252 HP / 252 Def / 6 SpD
Bold
-Stockpile
-Recover
-Swagger
-Scald
Word on the street is that stall is not as hot this generation. Most of the reasons are because of the monstrous new attacking threats that threaten an entire team sweep after a single boost. Well this guy laughs in their faces and receives a nod for being one of the most annoying sets to deal with. Quaggy flat out counters a ton of pokemon and is the best abuser of swagger this gen since unaware allows him to ignore the +6 attack boost it gives to the opposing pokemon. Simply swagger a pokemon and watch them kill themself while you stockpile up your defenses and laugh manically in the background. Recover helps Quagsire stay healthy and Scald is a decent stab that threatens to burn anyone who is dumb enough to stay in. This set allows me to free up some slots on my Gliscor since Quagsire can take care of the threats Gliscor normally counters and more.
Considered Changes:
-Investing EV’s into SpD in order to maybe handle nasty plot sweepers like Thundurus
Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Poison Heal
252 HP / 184 Def / 72 Spe
Impish
-Toxic
-Taunt
-Sub
-Protect
This Gliscor set is up for the most annoying ever in my book. No, he does not have SD or even an attack move. But this annoying flying scorpedo can stall in the same manner as stallrein by way of poison heal, sub, and protect. Taunt is there to single handedly destroy other stall teams. I am running toxic spikes, but I feel that having toxic makes this set a little safer so Gliscor can toxic flyers and levitators. It is also nice to have toxic for those situations where I can’t get T – Spikes up.
Considered changes:
-Investing a bit more EV’s in spe in order to have a quicker taunt
-Possibly dropping toxic or taunt for Earthquake in order to have a stab move
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Serene Grace
252 HP / 252 SpD / 6 Def
Careful
-Thunder wave
-Iron head
-Wish
-Stealth Rock
You had to know that with an annoying team theme paraflinch was going to make an appearance. Jirachi is the beautiful, annoying, steely, glue for this team. He provides me with SR support in order to hit those flyers that are immune to T-Spikes and everything else that decides to switch around. Jirachi also supplies my team with some sexy wishes in order to keep them topped of in the event of a switch. Jirachi is also an amazing special wall that has some great resistances. Oh and did I mention how annoying he can be. Thunder wave shuts down quick sweepers and also allows Jirachi to hit first with Iron Head for the fabled paraflinch combo that leaves opponents with only a 30% chance at a successful move.
Considered Changes:
-Although I really don’t want to because it is less reliable, switching Thunder Wave for Body Slam
Dusclops @ Eviolite
Pressure
252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Calm
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Night Shade
-Will-0-Wisp
With the stalling nature of this team and the importance of my entry hazards, I needed a spin blocker and Dusclops fit the bill. I chose Dusclops over the ghostly jellyfish because of his ability to handle rapid spinners better, namely Starmie. Dusclops is also a bit more annoying in my opinion then Jellicent, especially the rest talk version. The extra investment in SpD helps this ghostly behemoth take special attacks like a champ while will-o-wisp makes physical attackers cringe. Dusclops main fear is normally toxic but with rest, he does not have to worry about status. Rest also allows Duslops to have reliable recovery instead of pain split. Night Shade allows Dusclops to wear whatever is in front of him down.

-None at the moment
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Magnet Pull
40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Timid
-Charge beam
-Substitute
-Thunderbolt
-HP Fire
The nature of this pokemon is downright annoying. Steel is such a prominent type that it makes an appearance on almost every team. When an opponent sees that you have a Magnezone in team preview you already get them to play head games with themselves. “Is he going to predict this switch and kill my steal? I just don’t know!” Magnezone also covers a big weakness that this team would otherwise have and that is the toxic immunity steal typing provides. The set I use is also intended to be as annoying as possible. Hide behind a sub while charge beaming to a monstrous special attack. Finish off the steal with a sub up and proceed to WTFDEATHEXPLOSION whatever pokemon comes out next with thunderbolt or HP fire.
Considered changes:
-Changing HP fire to HP ice in order to handle Gliscor and dragons better
-Switching Magnezone for some more clean up power such as Salamence
Well thanks for checking out my attempt at an extremely annoying stall team that will make people want to quit playing Pokemon after ripping their own hair out. Stalled to the Wall is still a work in progress and is actually my first attempt at a stall team. Any comments and/or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Below are some other pokemon I really wanted to get onto this team but I just couldn’t make room for.
Ferrothorn, Chansey/Blissey, Dragonite (Dragon Tail shuffler), Tyranitar
Tentacruel @ Black Sludge
Rain Dish
