THE TEAM AT A GLANCE
Earlier on I had posted an RMT very similar to this one. The other was pretty good, but I was still getting beaten more than I would have liked and it basically just needed a little help. Well, people started rating, and I found that the flaws couldn't be corrected without basically scratching the team altogether. So rather than using the suggestions, I set out to correct it on my own. Given that this team has gone 9-1, I think I've done a pretty good job and that this new/improved version is ready to be rated.
Roserade- The Sleeper and Setup Lead
Roserade @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spd
-Sleep Powder
-Toxic Spikes
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Fire
This Roserade has worked remarkably well. If the opposing lead is something like Swampert or Scizor, attack and OHKO. Otherwise, Sleep Powder the first turn to incapacitate something, doing the team a service and also giving me a free turn to set up Toxic Spikes. Getting two layers up can be difficult, but it can usually be accomplished. This set HATES priority moves, but I can switch and come in later if I can predict one.
Scizor- The Banded Sweeper and Scout
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spd
-U-turn
-Bullet Punch
-Brick Break
-Pursuit
Oh how I love this Scizor. This thing is an absolutely great team player. U-turn gets STAB, letting it hit very hard, while also scouting. Bullet Punch does a good job of revenge killing, and hits harder than most opponents expect, again thanks to STAB and also Technician. Brick Break decimates Blissey, and Pursuit can chase down any running opponents and smack around Psychics and Ghosts (namely and mostly Gengar) especially. Brick Break hasn't seen much use on this set, so any other options are welcome.
Latias- The Boosting Special Sweeper
Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Timid
EVs: 4 HP/252 SAtk/252 Spd
-Calm Mind
-Dragon Pulse
-Surf
-Recover
A generic sweeping Latias. She works very well with Scizor, ridding him of Fire types like Infernape with Surf, while Scizor can Bullet Punch (or possibly Brick Break) Tyranitar. Calm Mind is pretty easy to get off, but attacking right out of the gate still works sometimes. Recover has amazing synergy with Life Orb, letting this Latias stay around for a pretty long time.
Dragonite- The Mixed Sweeper
Dragonite @ Life Orb
Ability: Inner Focus
Nature: Lonely
EVs: 84 Atk/220 SAtk/204 Spd
-Agility
-Draco Meteor
-Outrage
-Thunderbolt
This Dragonite replaced my mixed sweeping Metagross, and has proven to be a worthy addition to my team. As well as being my mixed sweeper, it provides the Gyarados counter I was in desperate need of. If Dragonite can get in before an opposing Gyarados and use Agility, Gyarados will never get the chance to sweep, courtesy of Thunderbolt. Draco Meteor and Outrage make for horribly powerful STABs. Usually, people predict a Choice item if I come in and use a special attack immediately, so they put in a special wall and I can blast away with Outrage. Let's see Salamence do this.
Suicune- The Double Wall
Suicune @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/4 Spd
-Surf
-Calm Mind
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
Commonly referred to as Crocune, this Suicune is amazing. After a few Calm Minds, it becomes specially invincible, and thanks to the EVs and nature, physical hits aren't much of a problem either. The biggest and most pleasing surprise I've had is that this Suicune seems to be able to survive any Explosion. Bronzong, Metagross, Azelf, and Steelix, among others, have all Exploded on this Suicune, doing a maximum 90% damage. So, if I predict an Explosion and Suicune is at full health, I just bring it in and take the pain, recovering fully afterwards with Rest. This can also beat Blissey one on one. While the former is made a lot easier with Toxic Spikes (thanks Roserade!), it can still 2HKO or 3HKO with a +6 Surf.
Bronzong- The Utility and Setup Wall
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 HP/86 Atk/80 Def/92 SDef
-Gyro Ball
-Stealth Rock
-Explosion
-Earthquake
This Bronzong has one sole purpose for me: to get Stealth Rock up. Once that gets done, I usually just Explode on whatever's there. If the opponent is very fast, such as a DD Salamence, then I can Gyro Ball, and if Metagross won't move, Earthquake. Usually though, I Explode and bring out Crocune, or maybe Scizor to scout. This is very useful for that DD Gyarados threat as well; Explosion handles it, because Bronzong will never be OHKOed by +1 Waterfall.
And that's my team!! A threat list will follow soon. Credit goes to Arkeis.com for the images. Thanks for reading and rating!!
