I have been using this same base team for some time now, and I feel that it is time for an upgrade. Be as harsh as you want while rating my team, just give me some useful information. I would like to replace Swampert, Scizor, and possibly Latias.
Here is my team at a glance:
Lead: Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 HP, 129 Def, 129 Sp.Def
Moveset:
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Roar
- Stealth Rock
I have been using Swampert as my lead for many months. I use it primarily to set up Stealth Rock and to fight during the battle. So, it isn't much of a lead, just a Poke with SR. Its good typing and defenses make it an excellent counter for many Pokemon, such as Heatran. I use Roar to break up stall wars and to scout the opponent's team. Overall Pert has been a reliable member of my team, but its time for a change.
Mixed Sweeper: Infernape @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
Nature: Naive
EVs: 252 Atk, 64 Sp.Atk, 192 Spd
Moveset:
- Overheat
- CloseCombat
- Stone Edge
- U-Turn
I just added this Mixape to my team. It is physically based. Based on my limited experience with this Mixape variant I have found it to be a great sweeper. It has excellent type coverage. But, not quite as good as the specialy based mixape. With U-Turn I am able to scout out incoming counters. This has been very helpful. Infernape's Fire/Fighting typing allows it to switch into a variety of moves without taking too much damage. At times I have been able to scare off Scizors with my Ape.
Special Sweeper: Latias @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 6 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 252 Spd
Nature: Timid
Moveset:
- Draco Meteor
- Surf
- Hidden Power (Fire)
- Trick
Latias is also a new adition to my team. She is the fastest and one of the hardest hitting Pokemon on my team. I use her to counter many Pokemon such as Infernape. With Trick she can cripple Blisseys and other walls with an unwanted Choice Specs. I think that Latias has a lot of potential as a sweeper. However, whenever I try to use her she ends up dying very quickly.
Tank: Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
Nature: Bold
EVs: 252 HP, 216 Def, 40 Sp.Atk
Moveset:
- Toxic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
Oh yes, Porygon2. One of the best Gyarados and Salamence counters in OU. Being that these two Pokemon are so dangerous, I always feel safer having a Porygon2 with me. I also use it as a counter for Pokemon like Dusknoir and Spiritomb. Pory can poison them and then stall them out, without taking too much damage. However, Porygon2 lacks power. So, if it is up against a steel-type it is often forced to switch.
Physical Sweeper: Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 232 HP, 252 Atk, 26 Def
Moveset:
- X-Scissor
- Roost
- Bullet Punch
- Swords Dance
I have been using Scizor for a long time. I have found it to be a great revenge killer and late game sweeper. With Swords Dance and Roost Scizor is able to set up on weak foes and then sweep. It has helped me in countless matches. However, in the last few weeks it hasn't done very well for me. I am considering replacing it with another steel-type, such as Metagross. Metagross also has Bullet Punch, a valuable move.
Special Sweeper: Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
Nature: Timid
EVs: 32 HP, 252 Sp.Atk, 224 Spd
Moveset:
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power (Ice)
- Earth Power
- Rest
I love this little guy. I would never consider removing Shaymin from my team. It has been able to get countless surprise kills on the likes of Lucario and Salamence. It hits hard with its Seed Flare + Life Orb combo. It can take even Super Effective hits. Then, recharge with Rest and come back in to fight again. If you are rating my team, don't even think of suggesting that I remove Shaymin. I believe that this UU deserves a place in OU.
