Standard OU team...? Or not!

Hi there! welcome to my second RMT! This has been my most successful team I have made. Before I made this team I tested expert belt scizor which is underrated and it worked better than I excepted. Later I decided to make team around scizor. There was other two pokémon which I wanted to use and they were Porygon2 and Hydreigon. I quickly noticed that those two are weak to fighting types and later I came up with rest of pokémons in this team.

Changes are in red

Now to the Team:

images

Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

- I needed ghost type to switch in fighting types and first that came to my mind was Gengar and it's Subs-Pain Split set. This works well and has 6-0'ed some teams. It' has always taken at least one of enemy pokémons down. I don't know what I would do without Gengar as it shuts down certain pokémons and acts as my one of two revenge killer. Shadow Ball and Focus Blast are for Perfect coverage adn Pain Split is to keep Gengar healthy.

Gliscor_v_2_by_Xous54.png

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 244 HP / 192 Def / 72 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Roost
- Taunt
- Earthquake

I figured that Gengar wouldn't help me alone with fighting types as they almost always have move that allows it to hit gengar hard probably OHKO'ing it. That where Gliscor comes in. It's high defense and useful resistances allows it take hits from common physical attackers unless they carry move like hp ice to kill this bat. I went with sword dance set it works well in this team thought it other pokémons won't let it shine as brightly as in other teams. It's also my status absorder. Earthquake is For STAB and Facade is for strong coverage move. Taunt makes Skarmory and Ferrothorn set-up fodders.

images

Hydreigon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 56 HP / 252 SAtk / 200 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast

The Hydreigon. It's just awesome just look at those arms or should I say heads! Now to set. I switch in something that can't hurt me like much and Sub in the predicted switch. Dragon Pulse is for STAB and Earth Power is for Heatran as it deals more damage than Focus Blast to Heatran. It also has better accurancy than Focus Blast has or should I say Focus Miss? Fire Blast is for Ferrothorn and Scizors and their Fire weak friends.

images

Rotom-W @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 108 HP / 248 SAtk / 152 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Rest
When I had only one spot left in this team I saw that I don't have any water types in this team or anything that can slow down rain offense. There were several water type pokémons that came to my mind like Gastrodon and Vaporeon I give the spot for Rotom-W as it completes volt-turn core with Scizor and it has excellent STAB as it allows it counter some of common pokémons found in rain teams like Polioed and Starmie to certain degree. Volt Switch and Hydro Pump are for STAB' and HP fire is for coverage. Pain split is to keep Rotom healthy.

images

Scizor (F) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
EVs: 140 HP / 172 Atk / 192 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch
- Roost

This is your basic choice band Scizor without the band. It has gotten me many kills because of expert belt allows to change moves. Pursuit that latios away and in the next turn Superpower or U-turn that Tyranitar. I also act like this Scizor is banded if I don't see any reasons to use other attacks. It also acts as my one of two revenge killers with bullet punch. Might go with more offensive EV spread to hopefully outspeed certain pokémons. Moves are self-explanatory.

images

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recover
- Toxic
- Discharge
- Ice Beam

Porygon2. It just stops many pokémons with Trace. If I get lucky I can Trace something like multiscale or prankster. Only downside about Porygon2 it is weak to Fighting type moves. Recover is to keep Porygon2 healthy and Toxic is for Blissey and Chansey. Discharge > thunderbolt for paralysis change and ice beam to complete the boltbeam combo.

Import able:
Gengar (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Disable
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Gliscor (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 244 HP / 192 Def / 72 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Earthquake
- Roost

Hydreigon (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 56 HP / 252 SAtk / 200 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Substitute
- Dragon Pulse
- Earth Power
- Fire Blast

Rotom-W @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 36 HP / 252 SAtk / 220 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Rest

Scizor (F) @ Expert Belt
Trait: Technician
EVs: 140 HP / 176 Atk / 192 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Bullet Punch
- Roost

Porygon2 @ Eviolite
Trait: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Recover
- Toxic
- Discharge
- Ice Beam

happy rating and testing.

Gengar makes a great check against fighting attackers, but I'd like to recommend Disable over Pain Split. Disable lets you entirely shut down many of the common fighting-types in OU, like Conkeldurr, Breloom, CB Terrakion, and some forms of Toxicroak and Scrafty.

I try it.

Your Rotom-W is an bulky one with not full speed and HP Fire. I suggest changing it to a scarf,or more bulk investment. But an expert belt would be really pro, you have the momentum to kill something with a suprise. Heatran switches on your HP fire? Hydro Pump outta the way!

Judging from first glances, I can see that your team may struggle with SpecsLatios. Latios has a strong chance to 2HKO Scizor with Draco Meteor with Stealth Rock up, and with a layer of Spikes, it's guaranteed.
252SpAtk Choice Specs Latios (+SAtk) Draco Meteor vs 248HP/8SpDef Light Metal Scizor (+SpDef): 59% - 70% (204 - 241 HP).
252SpAtk Choice Specs -2 Latios (+SAtk) Draco Meteor vs 248HP/8SpDef Light Metal Scizor (+SpDef): 29% - 34% (102 - 120 HP).
Small chance to 2HKO, large chance to 2HKO with rocks up, guaranteed 2HKO with Rocks and a layer of Spikes up.
You've made it clear that you can revenge it, but switching in is something else altogther. To make it easier to switch in, I recommend this set:

Scizor @ Expert belt
Trait: Technician
Adamant: 188 HP/72 Atk/248 SpD (Guaranteed to survive 2 specs Draco Meteors after Stealth Rock, chance to survive after Stealth Rock and one layer of Spikes, OHKOs retreating Latios with Pursuit, large chance of KOing non-retreating Latios with Pursuit and Bullet Punch)
-Pursuit
-Bullet Punch
-Roost
-Swords Dance
Bulky Scizor makes a great switch-in to Latios, being able to threaten and kill it with Pursuit/Bullet Punch. Roost is important to heal off damage, and Swords Dance is important to compensate for the attack drop. Regardless, the set is generally designed so you don't have to auto-sack a pokemon just to get Latios out of the way.
Unfortunately, the spread can only be sure to take down 0 HP/4 Def Latios with Pursuit and Bullet Punch if you have Stealth Rock. Therefore, you could try StallBreaker Gliscor, to set up Stealth Rock and help you with stall.

Gliscor @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
Jolly: 244 HP/192 Def/72 Spe
-Stealth Rock
-Taunt
-Earthquake
-Roost
Standard 4th Gen StallBreaker Gliscor. Stealth Rock is kinda important if you want to definitely kill Latios (as well as other things), Taunt and Roost help to shut down Stall Teams and Earthquake is just good STAB. True you do lose a valuable status absorber, but again, I have the answer, in ChestoRest Rotom-W.

Rotom-W @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Levitate
Modest: 36 HP/252 SpA/220 Spe
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Rest
-Hidden Power [Fire]/Hidden Power [Flying]
Same Rotom-W, with ChestoRest to help you with status. The reason I have included Hidden Power [Flying] is in case you want to check Brelom with it, which is also why it would be good running 220 speed (to outspeed Jolly max speed Breloom), or 224 Spe if running HP Fire. This is essentially another bluff set, so just Volt Switch spam early game, then use it properly later.

Hope I helped!

Bulky Scizor makes a great switch-in to Latios, being able to threaten and kill it with Pursuit/Bullet Punch. Roost is important to heal off damage, and the last move is whether you want Scizor to clean up late game or scout early game. Regardless, the set is generally designed so you don't have to auto-sack a pokemon just to get Latios out of the way.

I try those "new" changes :D

Ok .
Correct Team altogether. Puts Will o wisp in her placed by Hidden power fire on Rotom. For hydreigon puts Focus Blast on Earth power this attack is more effective especially for Tyranitar and bangs well enough. Ice fang on Facade of gliscor. I propose if you want to put Scizor sword dancer LO or with leftovers finally it is according to you ^^ '. Nice team otherwise GG!!!

Ice fang on Facade of gliscor.Changed set I propose if you want to put Scizor sword dancer LO or with leftovers finally it is according to you ^^ ' That would ruin by bluff. Nice team otherwise GG!!!

comment in underling and bold

Lol ok ...
"Correct Team altogether. Puts Will o wisp in her placed by Hidden power fire on Rotom No need for that." Change set normal (yy)
"I can handle Tyranitar and Earth Power is for heatran"
I know man but focus blast>Earth power on Hydreigon
"I propose if you want to put Scizor sword dancer LO or with leftovers finally it is according to you ^^ ' That would ruin by bluff." Sry but no with a good mindgame.
"comment in underling and bold"
It is normal seen that I have spleen the team that you had kept silent yesterday now all almost changed but if you had kept ancient Set, many persons would have said the same thing as me. (y)

I actually recommend a mixed revamp of Hydreigon.

Hydreigon@Expert Belt
Levitate, Hasty
252 SpA, 252Spe 4Hp
-Draco Meteor
-Fire Blast
-U-Turn
-Earthquake

This set is very useful. Fake the scarf, and when the Steel type comes in on the meteor, fire back accordingly. EQ on the Heatran, Fire Blast for Forrtress, Scizor, Ferro. U-Turn is for obvious scouting. Give it a try, see if this trapping set works for you.

I don't want 3 bluffs in one team...

Also Leftiez I hate when focus blast misses almost always. Focus blast miss has made lose countless matches. Unable to kill Terrakion with Gengar or Hydreigon, because Focus Blast misses like a boss.

You can't have Stealth Rock and Roost on a Poison Heal Gliscor, the moves are incompatible with it. Poison Heal is a 5th Gen Dream World Ability, and Roost & Stealth Rock are 4th Gen TMs.
