Standard Sand...

I've been playing with this team for quite a while and it's been working well.
I just don't know how to make it better.

It doesn't do well against rain teams, it generally depends on if I can keep Ferrothorn alive.

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Ability: Sandstream
EVs: 252 HP, 152 Defence and 104 in Speed
Nature: Hardy
- Stealth Rock
- Slack Off
- Roar
- Earthquake

This lead sets up stealth rocks and can phaze away physical threats such as Conkeldurr using bulk up.
Hippowdon has good synergy with Ferrothorn and Gengar, as they can come in on Politoed and Espeon respectively.
I have problems with specially offensive Tyrranitar leads. Their ice beams are not nice and i'm left wondering who to send out, as nothing on my team does well against it.

Ferrothorn @ Leftover
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Defence and 4 Special Defence
Nature: Impish
- Thunder Wave
- Spikes
- Power Whip
- Explosion

Spreads paralysis and lays down spikes. The only pokemon on my team that can handle water types (except reuniclus) and dragons. The main problems are gliscor and zapdos, both get a free turn to set up.

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Defence and 252 Special Attack
Nature: Bold
- Calm Mind
- Psychic
- Recover
- Focus Blast

This guy is amazing easily capable of ripping through teams not prepared for him. Once, Scizor and Tyrranitar are gone, I bring in Reuniclus on something with weak attacks (Ferrothorn, gliscor etc.) set up and generally win.
Skarmory, is always a problem and whirlwind takes away all my lovely boosts and it can;t be OHKOed with a significany number of boosts.

Gengar @ Lum Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Special Attack, 252 Speed.
Nature: Timid
- Substitute
- Hidden Power (Fire)
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast

Before Gengar I used Tentacruel then I realised 4 out of the other 5 pokemon where immune to poison and most resisted stealth rocks. So I got rid of him.

I had a real problem with Breloom so I used this Gengar, that can come in, absorb the spore, and OHKO back with Hidden power, or set up a substitute.
I also use him to revenge kill scizors, that aren't expecting hidden power and tyrranitars that don't expect Focus Blast.

Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP, 252 Defence, 252 Speed
Nature: Adamant
- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- X-Scissor

Another pokemon that can rip though teams that aren't prepared for it, unfortunately 99.9% of teams are prepared for him. Excadrill makes a very good revenge killer though as long as the weather is in my favour.
The speedy physical attacker of the team.

Heatran @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4HP, 252 Special Attack and 252 Speed.
Nature: Timid
- Fire Blast
- Earth Power
- Dark Pulse
- Hidden Power (Electric)

The Special Attacker of the team. Heatran like Excadrill is very good at finishing off pokemon and can often win me a game from being 4-1 down.

Things that need changing.

-I need more counters to rain teams after Ferrothorn and Reuniclus are gone. Its game over.
-Bulky dragons are a pain. If Excadrill can't KO it with a rock slide the dragon will fire blast back and be a nuisance.
-A large fighting weakness that Gengar and Reuniclus "sort of" take care of. Sometimes this is exploited though.
-Just needs to be better really...

(First post so apologies for any screw ups)

Minor Things and Comments

To start off with, it's kinda weird having a sandstorm team in which only 1 pokemon can benefit from the sandstorm...
If you're going to run adamant and such an offensive movepool, then use 252 attack EVs on Excadrill, it's not like Excadrill's got any bulk to begin with....
Explosion is useless this gen as it doesn't halve the defense stat of the opponent, replace it with something like Protect for scouting
Everybody knows Gengar carries Focus Blast... universal fact.....
No point in putting Speed EVs in Hippowdon when it's too slow to outspeed anything....

Pokemon changes
Hippowdon -> Tyranitar

Reason:
Your team is so offensively based, why would you want a stall typed mon such as Hippowdon to suddenly be in your team. I'd stick with shit like MixTar to deal with Scizor's, Chomp's and other such nuisances.

Heatran -> Thundurus

Reason:
Well, if you hate rain teams, then use a full on electric mon. Use the Nasty Plot set which can OHKO Politoed at all times. It's pretty standard, works great, and if used properly, can take out half of the opponent's team.

Counters that aren't stated yet

Excadrill much?

Jolly Excadrill runs through your team like a hot knife through butter. It can easily setup on Ferrothorn who can't do anything to it, and if you don't switch out, it can either KO you with EQ or Rapid spin all your hazards away (depending on set). Hippowdon is 2HKOed by SD while it can only Roar it away, Reuniculus is OHKOed after 2 SDs, which is frightfully easy to setup. Gengar is OHKOed by Rock Slide after SD, Heatran is OHKOed by EQ, nuff said

Solution to problem: Use Jolly Excadrill, and stuff in that Gliscor

Jolly Excadrill will allow you to at least have a speed tie if worse comes to worse. Replacing Ferrothorn with Gliscor (which can set up rocks) is probably the best choice. Since Gliscor can easily wall and 2HKO Excadrill, I suppose it's the way to go.

252 Defence on Excadrill was a typo, I meant 252 attack.
I'll change him to Jolly.

I'll replace Hippowdon with Tyranitar and replace Heatran with Thunderus.

I'm not sure about protect on Ferrothorn, I think it would only work with leech seed. So, I'll try gyro ball for now. But I'll make a mental note everytime, I wish I had protect.

Thanks.
