So, I'm finishing off a team my little brother and I have been working on for a while and we get stuck on the last Pokemon. We wanted something fast, powerful, and preferably with Pusuit, seeing as one of his Pokemon was Dugtio revenge killed pretty easily, which he didn't find so cool. It also needed to be able to lead the match.

Eventually, we came with CBStaraptor, who beats Duggy with an Intimidate followed with an EarthQuake immunity which beat even Life Orb Dugtrio pretty badly. It does 53% minimum on non-switching Dugtrio with Pursuit and always OHKOs switching Dugtrio. Combine that with it's ability to survive the Intimidated Stone Edge/Rock Slide with health to spare helps too. So we were thinking it was all perfect when I start writing down the moveset:

Staraptor @Choice Band
EVs:4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd Jolly
Brave Bird
Double Edge
In Fight
Somersault
Pursuit

O shit, I need more moveslotz! :[

OK, Jolly CBed Double Edge OHKOs Zapdos, whch is very important as Zapdos has the ability to play games with much of the team, Brave Bird is meanly because it's a good attack and STAB, helps with Grass types, and stops Gengar, Mismagious and Dusknoir from just walling it, OHKOing, OHKOing and 2HKOing respectively. Somersault helps get in the sweepers who must not be named until eventual RMT, get's stuff in easier, and also stops Skarm from just saying hi before I lay Stealth Rock so I can 2HKO it. In Fight is obvious; Stop all Steels from walling me, it's just plain sexy. Pursuit has to stay, it also helps with ChoiceSpecsGengar who runs over the team sans 1 poke who will never be able to hit it on the switches and happens to be the one who gets revenge killed, but unfortunately, I don't know what I should drop, or should I just tell him to go with Weavile. Help please!

Sincerely and Devilishly,
DevilinDenial

On my Staraptor (see my RMT) I dropped Double-Edge because having two recoil moves on the same monster drastically blows through its durability. Otherwise, I'd say drop Brave Bird if you ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO KEEP double-edge, because you're not going to want to try to hit 'Gar with Staraptor anyway. He's almost always gonna get the jump on you.

Just my thoughts, take it or leave it.

I have Wish support, I honestly don't care about the recoil, so yeah. I also have Screen support, but Gar still OHKOs(Or nearly OHKOs) Star, so yeah.

Not having the rest of the team makes it a bit hard to decide. I'd say ditch U-Turn in favour of Brave Bird. Seems wrong to not have it in his moveset. I prefer Brave Bird/Close Combat/Pursuit/Quick Attack anyway, but if you need Double-Edge for Zapdos then go with that over Quick Attack.

double edge sould go if zapdos doesn't eat the team up otherwise drop somersault since you already hit grasses with brave bird and metagross takes more from infight

I know Phuquoph, but I don't have the entire team ready yet, so I won't post it. Star wants DE because otherwise I'm making it way too easy for Zappy to come in which is horrible considering my Special Wall isn't going to last forever with all these Pursuit users running Rampardos(Puns are awesome). Still, I do believe that I make it hard enough for it to get in otherwise. Hitting things for OHKOs is just soooo delicous, though, considering it's a pretty popular lead.

It's pretty hard to suggest a move to drop/add without seeing the rest of the team. We have no idea how you take on various threats already so how are we supposed to give suggestions?

Wouldn't U-turn only help bring in sweepers if you're slow? Staraptor's speedy enough, and I dunno if you would want him to take hits for your sweepers anyway.

Seeing as I have a problem with waters that carry moves that get past my Wish-user,(Vappy) like Psychic and HP Electric, I'm considering CBWeavile, who can fit in Pursuit easier and does around 50% to a switching Blissey with Pursuit. I don't care what anyone says, Weavile is based on the Fisher, a badass evil cute thing.

For the team, I'll have Wednesday, and I'm sad I can't give it today or tommorow, but I've been buried in Projects and stuff and have hardly been able to even pay attention to breeding my CBAzumarill in Emerald.

Forgot about that thing on U-Turn, although Intimidate does balance it out.

Sommersault; Pursuit deals with Psychics already, In Fight deals with Darks, and Brave Bird deals with Grassers.

DE, Brave Bird is pretty much the same, and has better type coverage than DE. Somersault is a pretty awesome move in general for CBers, and helps to take on darks/psychics a bit better. In Fight has to stay, for Rocks/Steels which resist Brave Bird. And then Pursuit is just another awesome move for CBers, which allows a lot of revenge killing.

About Zapdos, you can always somersault on the switch to something else which can take it. Also, you will almost always run max speed Jolly, so you will outspeed Modest Zapdos, or any which don't max speed.

Double Edge only does more to Electric Pokemon than Brave Bird, so you could actually give up the normal move.

CB Pursuit is simply too good to give up and is great for revenge kills.

Close Combat is pretty much required as it hits everything that walls Flying except for Zapdos/that electric ghost.

U-Turn is generally a nice move, but Close Combat/Pursuit/Brave Bird already handle stuff like T-tar/psychics/Celery.

I would most likely get rid of U-Turn, as it is always nice to have Return or Double Edge for Zapdos.
