After playing around in standard for a while I have finally decided to make a UU team. Not knowing how much the UU metagame has changed since the last time I played, I made a time made up of true NUs (stuff like Furret, Sunflora, etc.) and got completely destroyed lol. But I have made lots of revisions to my UU team and this is what I have finalized with currently, but I'm open up to suggestions to counter my threats.

Also, I will not be changing Uxie and Gardevoir; these two are the backbone of my team.

The main aim of this team that I orignally had was to gain momentum quickly by disabling leads with Scarf Uxie or get rocks up as soon as possible, and then pass it over to Gardevoir to set up screens to allow Mismagius or Drapion to sweep, depending on the situation.

Raja (Uxie) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 232 HP/100 Def/176 Spd
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Trick
- Stealth Rock
- Psychic
- Yawn

One of the favourite leads I have used so far, but in unfortunately in standard it can't stand up to the pure attacking power that lead Metagross and LOStarmie have. If I'm up against a probable taunter (most probably Crobat), I use Stealth Rock and switch out to one of my team mates (Usually Gardevoir to set up screens to allow Missy or Drapion to sweep). If I'm up against something I know won't taunt usually, I'll use Trick and then Yawn on the switch. Unless it's a CB Weavile Night Slash I'll always survive to at least set up rocks and hightail it out of there. Psychic is there to give it some form of attacking power.

Steve (Registeel) @ Leftovers
Ability:
Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)

- Iron Head
- Curse
- Rest
- Thunderpunch

I'm thinking of replacing this guy; there's not much that he really does to contribute except sponge up attacks. I'm considering changing his moveset to Swagger, Thunder Wave, Iron Head and Substitute instead, but other than that, this is a standard Curse Registeel. He helps me deal with Normal-type attacks, but he increases by Scarfken weak...

Kottle (Shaymin) @ Choice Specs
Ability:
Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Air Slash
- Psychic

Simply put, I need the pure attacking power that Choice Specs Shaymin provides. Seed Flare tears through lots of things that don't resist grass and the rest of the moves are just for coverage, although I'm considering using Hidden Power Ice over Air Slash or Psychic as they haven't been very useful.

457.png

Dran (Drapion) (F) @ Scope Lens
Ability:
Sniper
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

- Swords Dance
- Earthquake
- Night Slash
- Ice Fang

Other than providing crucial resistances and being a bulky and UUfast physical sweeper, Drapion also provides me with a decent wallbreaker (with a bit of luck) and a means to wall Absol and Hitmontop, pokemon that would otherwise sweep right through my team when given the chance. Usually behind screens, I will either switch into something that would switch out and use Swords Dance, and then use Night Slash as my main attacking move.

Carol (Mismagius) (F) @ Leftovers
Ability:
Levitate
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Taunt
- Calm Mind
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]

My Semi-wallbreaking Special Sweeper. She loves it when my opponent uses Blissey as she can Taunt them to oblivion and set up with Calm Mind. I prefer to use Hidden Power Fighting alongside Shadow Ball as Ghost/Fighting would provide me with the most coverage, although I have lots of problems against Honchkrow if I don't use Hidden Power Ice.

282.png

Estrella (Gardevoir) (F) @ Light Clay
Ability:
Trace
EVs: 64 HP/252 Def/194 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)

- Reflect
- Will-o-wisp
- Light Screen
- Thunderbolt

Dual Screener geared towards Defense to sponge up Dark-type attacks. She's on my standard team too and provides my team with the support that it needs to set up and sweep. Since she usually attracts physical sweepers, I mainly use Will-o-Wisp on the switch, but on the occasion that they bring in a set-up sweeper themselves, I bring in Mismagius to Taunt them to prevent them from potentially threatening my team further...

THREAT LIST:

Mixed Scarfken: Mentioned lots of times during this. It absolutely rips through my team and my only ways to get past it is through lots of prediction.

Absol: Once it gets a Swords Dance up, my only hope of bringing it down is through Shaymin or Drapion, which don't always survive against it.

Honchkrow: Same as Absol, although not as threatening. Even Gardevoir can neuter it as most of them carry only Sucker Punch.

EVs: 252 HP/164 Atk/92 SDef

- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave
- Explosion

There's a few obvious problems with this team.

First off, forget Blaziken, you're weak to pretty much every fire type in the tier. If your opponent happens to have a Magmortar or Typhlosion or heaven forbid a Moltres (I say that because then not even Shaymin can handle it because of its immunity to Earth Power), you're going to get swept outright... might as well forfiet, it's good game right there.

I hesitate to get rid of Registeel lest you be completely unprotected against Crobat, but then again, you could always replace it with a somewhat defensive Regirock. You'lll of course want to give it a bit of attacking EVs so that it can gaurantee a few KOs though. The following set is one I'd recommend personally:

Regirock @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/164 Atk/92 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Thunder Wave
- Explosion

The EVs given allow you to OHKO 104 HP Crobat with Stone Edge as well as give him the ability to take special hits fairly well, especially the fire attacks you are particularly weak to. I placed Explosion over Stealth Rock since you already have a Pokemon to set up Stealth Rock, and you could use a last ditch powerful move to break stall.

This should also help you with your reported Honchkrow problem.

---------------------------------------------------

Use HP Ice over Psychic and Air Slash on Shaymin, and stick Rest on it. You lose coverage on a few Pokemon such as Ludicolo, but what you gain in survivability you will thank me for later. Not to mention that the main targets of Psychic and Air Slash (namely Crobat and Roserade) are all taken care of by a timely HP Ice, and with Specs + Stealth Rock, it's unlikely that they'll survive the onslaught.

---------------------------------------------

Substitute is better in almost all cases on Mismagius, not only does it allow you to take status attacks, but you get a "free buffer" against physical attackers. Crobat will be far more willing to switch in on your Mismagius when it learns you're lacking Substitute because it means that it doesn't have to worry about taking any kind of hit at all from Shadow Ball in order to break the Sub and then OHKO. The same thing in regards to Steelix and other Pokemon who regularly switch in on Mismagius. The benefits that Taunt provides are minimal at best, noting that the most common use of it is preventing Encore Clefable from stopping your set-up, but when taking into consideration that Clefable's usage has gone down lately, Taunt becomes an even less appealing option.

---------------------------------------------------

Scope Lens may be nice for getting Sniper's effect off, but even with the Scope Lens, Night Slash is only a 25% chance to critically hit... which means that on average you're still going to be underdamaging Life Orb varients. Not to mention that there are few things where the 3X boost of Sniper versus the 1.3x constant boost of Life Orb comes in to play. Simply put, Scope Lens is just not as consistent. You should swap it out for Life Orb.

--------------------------------------------

As far as dealing with Absol goes, just DON'T SWITCH OUT. All of your Pokemon sans Uxie can punish it for getting greedy looking for a Swords Dance on your switch. The best answer is to just hit it as hard as you can with whatever move deals the most damage and then go from there. Considering how weak defensively Absol is, it's unlikely it will survive an attack from any of your Pokemon with enough health to sweep your team. In this case, the best defense is offense.

Update this when you make those changes and say how they've been working so you can begin to make further repairs. Beyond those problems, though, it's a really sound team.

Alright, thanks, I'll try out those changes.

The thing now that I'm concerned about now are stat-up sweepers like CM Slowbro and Bulk Up Hitmontop, though. I don't have much that I can do to them once they start buffing up their stats.

My team is pretty weak to Stall too, as I relied on Taunt to stop them. I don't know what I could do to repeated switches and common walls, other than attempt to stat-up and sweep. Who knows, though. I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the help, again!

Against stat up and stall, there is an evil way. Replace Gardevoir with this:

Clefable@Toxic Orb
252HP/154 Def/100SpD/4Spe
Calm/Magic Guard
-Encore
-Thunder Wave
-Seismic Toss
-Softboiled

Paralyzes and Encores every stat up sweeper. Stoss for sub breaking. Immunity to Stealth Rock, Leech Seed, Toxic Spikes, Spikes, Burns, Poisons, etc, etc. Once the toxic orb takes effect (ie as long as you didn't switch into thunder wave) she's immune to all status. It can take any unboosted special hit and most unboosted non-fighting physical hits and hit back with a T-wave. Softboiled for healing.

This can 1v1 outstall nearly everything by encoring low PP or non-damaging moves to allow you safe switch ins. It's better than dual screen support for this team as you have 2 setup sweepers.

It's quite painful to let Gardevoir go, but I'll give this a try... thanks alot.

Regirock and Clefable are working fine, but one thing that really gives me problems now is opposing Shaymin. Nothing can switch into a Seed Flare without taking more than 50% (Even Drapion)

Chansey? Over Clefable. 'Magius can beat most stall teams w/out Umbreon and Chansey can take 2 Seed Flares even with the Def. drop.
Run something like
252 Def, 216 Sp.D, 40 HP
-Wish
-Protect
-Seismic Toss
-Thunder Wave/Toxic
