I've been using Shoddy for about a total of an hour now, but of all the battles I've had this one's been my best. Partially because it was the longest and pretty much the only one that wasn't just a total sweep, partially because of the close finish, partially because it was actually fun. Well, without further adieu, scroll downwards to view my first warstory:

Yakunan is exerting its pressure!
Yakunan used Shadow Sneak.
Breloom lost 18% of its health.
Breloom used Spore.
Yakunan fell asleep!
Breloom was badly poisoned!

Dammit, Breloom. I don't know about the rest of you, but the stupid mushroom-sombrero-thing tends to give me hell every time I see it. As my Dusknoir has the only priority on my team, I attempt to Sneak it before it subs up. Unfortunately, it Spores instead... which sucks.

Yakunan is fast asleep!
Breloom used Seed Bomb.
Yakunan lost 33% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 12% of its health.
Yakunan's leftovers restored its health a little!
Yakunan restored 6% of its health.

Normally I'd switch out and let Starmie or Infernape take care of the thing, but I don't want to risk it getting a Sub up or Focus Punching on the switch. So I stay in for a while longer and start taking Seed Bombs, which is weird to me. Either this guy's got a strange moveset on his Breloom, I forget the Leadoff-Loom set, or both. (probably the second option)

I finally woke up after a couple turns of sleep, but by now Dusky's too weak to be useful for anything later on. I reluctantly let the big black pile of dog-doo (look at it's tail-wisp thing!) fall to the exploding seeds of Donovant's Breloom.

Okama used Air Slash.

Aaaand, the rocks are up. Swell, just swell. I keep Togekiss in because I don't really have anything that can do enough to Uxie in one blow to make it run away. That, and I want to get as much out of him as I still can.

Knowing that Zapdos can't really do all that much of anything to the overgrown Mudkip, Donovant gives me a Scizor to stare at. I'm not too fussed because even if it does Swords Dance up, it's shiny new Bullet Punch or whatever it has isn't going to do jack against Swampert.

An Infernape of his own comes in, and seeing the Grass Knot coming a mile away, I beat it to Togekiss. See, he still has his uses even when crippled to within an inch of his life!

I bring in Swampert and get a Curse in, and he brings in that thrice-damned Breloom again. Seed Bombing this guy would result in a painful death by Grassy explosions, so I go to my Starmie. True, it's also in danger of Seed Bomb (I didn't realize this when it happened) but it can also take Spores with it's Natural Cure.

Newblet-Phoenix switched in Kirameki (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Kirameki.
Kirameki lost 12% of its health.
Breloom used Spore.
Kirameki fell asleep!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!

As expected, the starfish goes to sleep, however that's possible. Not seeing any reason to stay in and take a Seed Bomb, I swap out and let Starmie wake up in it's Poke Ball.

I switch to Infernape, it takes the Seed Bomb, Breloom Protects on a Flamethrower, and then freaking Mach Punches me into oblivion. That's one Breloom-killer down... at least now I know it's moveset, and seeing as Starmie's a good bit faster there's a good chance it'll be able to put the mushroom-man down for good.

YES! Starmie takes some Stealth Rock damage (unimportant), but sends that Breloom to an icy grave. I'd go kick the tombstone, but there's more important stuff to worry about.

Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.

I'd actually kinda forgotten about the Uxie. It paralyzes my Starmie, which sucks, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by a good switch. But I stay in once again, because Uxie again can't do anything to Starmie, and I want to make sure it'll stop Tricking my items around.

donovantx8: i wonder wat item?

Uxie obtained Choice Specs!
Kirameki obtained Leftovers!
Kirameki is paralysed! It can't move!
Kirameki's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kirameki restored 6% of its health.

Well, this turn... sucked. Uxie was left with just enough that another Choice Specs Ice Beam would KO, and then the flashy glasses got taken away from me and replaced by an applecore. A big hearty "Damn it," on my part.

Whoa, tense. The Uxie didn't like the Specs, apparently, and promptly switched the items back just in time for me to Ice Beam it once again (I'd forgotten that I could've switched to Surf). With Leftovers it probably wouldn't have happened; thanks, Uxie!

And finally, the last member of his team is revealed; a Deoxys. I paniced for a minute because it was the first I'd ever seen and I didn't know what most carried, then calmed down and guessed it was here to T-bolt. I decide to switch to my own last member of the team; a Flygon. (Yes, I'm now aware that they usually carry Ice Beam too. Shaddup.)

This is how I was aware. I saw that he'd chosen his move awfully quickly, and seeing the light switch back to Starmie to take the Ice Beam. Really just avoiding letting Flygon die without doing anything, because I love the bug-dragon-ground-thing to bits.

Kirameki lost 22% of its health.
Kirameki used Surf.

Apparently Donovant thought I'd switch back to Flygon to avoid the timely Thunderbolt, and Ice Beams for NVE damage. Meanwhile, I Surf him, and a Focus Sash activates. I know I should've expected it, but it happened anyway. I'll miss you, you floating starfish.

donovantx8 switched in Breloom (lvl 100 Breloom ?).
Kedamono used Curse.
Kedamono's speed was lowered.
Kedamono's attack was raised.
Kedamono's defence was raised.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
Breloom restored 5% of its health.
Kedamono's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kedamono restored 6% of its health.
---
I bring in Swampert and get a Curse in, and he brings in that thrice-damned Breloom again. Seed Bombing this guy would result in a painful death by Grassy explosions, so I go to my Starmie. True, it's also in danger of Seed Bomb (I didn't realize this when it happened) but it can also take Spores with it's Natural Cure.
---
Newblet-Phoenix switched in Kirameki (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Kirameki.
Kirameki lost 12% of its health.
Breloom used Spore.
Kirameki fell asleep!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
---
As expected, the starfish goes to sleep, however that's possible. Not seeing any reason to stay in and take a Seed Bomb, I swap out and let Starmie wake up in it's Poke Ball.
---
Newblet-Phoenix switched in Hidama (lvl 100 Infernape ?).
Pointed stones dug into Hidama.
Hidama lost 12% of its health.
Breloom used Seed Bomb.
It's not very effective...
Hidama lost 41% of its health.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
---
Breloom used Protect.
Breloom protected itself!
Hidama used Flamethrower.
Breloom protected itself!
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
---
Breloom used Mach Punch.
Hidama lost 37% of its health.
Newblet-Phoenix's Hidama fainted.
Breloom's Poison Heal restored health!
---
I switch to Infernape, it takes the Seed Bomb, Breloom Protects on a Flamethrower, and then freaking Mach Punches me into oblivion. That's one Breloom-killer down... at least now I know it's moveset, and seeing as Starmie's a good bit faster there's a good chance it'll be able to put the mushroom-man down for good.

Newblet-Phoenix switched in Kirameki (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Kirameki.
Kirameki lost 12% of its health.
Kirameki used Ice Beam.
It's super effective!
Breloom lost 100% of its health.
donovantx8's Breloom fainted.
---
YES! Starmie takes some Stealth Rock damage (unimportant), but sends that Breloom to an icy grave. I'd go kick the tombstone, but there's more important stuff to worry about.

donovantx8 switched in Uxie (lvl 100 Uxie).
Kirameki used Ice Beam.
Uxie lost 28% of its health.
Uxie used Thunder Wave.
Kirameki is paralysed! It may be unable to move!
Uxie's leftovers restored its health a little!
Uxie restored 6% of its health.
---
I'd actually kinda forgotten about the Uxie. It paralyzes my Starmie, which sucks, but it's nothing that can't be fixed by a good switch. But I stay in once again, because Uxie again can't do anything to Starmie, and I want to make sure it'll stop Tricking my items around.
---
donovantx8: i wonder wat item?
Uxie used Trick.
Uxie obtained Choice Specs!
Kirameki obtained Leftovers!
Kirameki is paralysed! It can't move!
Kirameki's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kirameki restored 6% of its health.
---
Well, this turn... sucked. Uxie was left with just enough that another Choice Specs Ice Beam would KO, and then the flashy glasses got taken away from me and replaced by an applecore. A big hearty "Damn it," on my part.
---
donovantx8: eww
Uxie used Trick.
Uxie obtained Leftovers!
Kirameki obtained Choice Specs!
Kirameki used Ice Beam.
Uxie lost 20% of its health.
donovantx8's Uxie fainted.
---
Whoa, tense. The Uxie didn't like the Specs, apparently, and promptly switched the items back just in time for me to Ice Beam it once again (I'd forgotten that I could've switched to Surf). With Leftovers it probably wouldn't have happened; thanks, Uxie!

Newblet-Phoenix: Specsmie for the win!
donovantx8 switched in Deoxys-e (lvl 100 Deoxys-e).
Deoxys-e is exerting its pressure!
Newblet-Phoenix switched in Sunatama (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Pointed stones dug into Sunatama.
Sunatama lost 6% of its health.
Deoxys-e used Thunderbolt.
It doesn't affect Sunatama...
---
And finally, the last member of his team is revealed; a Deoxys. I paniced for a minute because it was the first I'd ever seen and I didn't know what most carried, then calmed down and guessed it was here to T-bolt. I decide to switch to my own last member of the team; a Flygon. (Yes, I'm now aware that they usually carry Ice Beam too. Shaddup.)
---
Newblet-Phoenix switched in Kirameki (lvl 100 Starmie).
Pointed stones dug into Kirameki.
Kirameki lost 12% of its health.
Deoxys-e used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Kirameki lost 22% of its health.
---
This is how I was aware. I saw that he'd chosen his move awfully quickly, and seeing the light switch back to Starmie to take the Ice Beam. Really just avoiding letting Flygon die without doing anything, because I love the bug-dragon-ground-thing to bits.
---
Deoxys-e used Ice Beam.
It's not very effective...
Kirameki lost 22% of its health.
Kirameki used Surf.
Deoxys-e lost 100% of its health.
Deoxys-e hung on using its Focus Sash!
---
Apparently Donovant thought I'd switch back to Flygon to avoid the timely Thunderbolt, and Ice Beams for NVE damage. Meanwhile, I Surf him, and a Focus Sash activates. I know I should've expected it, but it happened anyway. I'll miss you, you floating starfish.
---
Deoxys-e used Thunderbolt.
It's super effective!
Kirameki lost 26% of its health.
Newblet-Phoenix's Kirameki fainted.

donovantx8's Deoxys-e fainted.
Kedamono's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kedamono restored 6% of its health.
---
After some thought, I switch to Swampert because he hasn't been having enough attention as of late. That, and the Deoxys needed something to put it down. It Psychics in a last stab, but Swampert's unusually high Sp. Def prevails and it goes down.

Newblet-Phoenix switched in Sunatama (lvl 100 Flygon ?).

Sunatama lost 6% of its health.
Infernape used Fake Out.
Sunatama lost 23% of its health.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.
---
He brings in that Infernape, and I show him Sunatama; lucky switch. Of course, that's what I said before he Fake'd me Out.
---
donovantx8 switched in Zapdos (lvl 100 Zapdos).
Zapdos is exerting its pressure!
Sunatama used Earthquake.
It doesn't affect Zapdos...
---
And newbie prediction fails me here, as I attempt to EQ for the win and he switches to a Zapdos I'd forgotten about.
---
Newblet-Phoenix switched in Kedamono (lvl 100 Swampert ?).
Pointed stones dug into Kedamono.
Kedamono lost 6% of its health.
Zapdos used Hidden Power.
Kedamono lost 17% of its health.
Kedamono's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kedamono restored 6% of its health.
---
The Zapdos counter comes out, and said Zapdos attempts to Hidden Power (must've been Ice). It does inconsequential damage, and Swampert comes out laughing in his sailor's tongue.
---
Zapdos used Hidden Power.
Kedamono lost 17% of its health.
Kedamono used Waterfall.
Zapdos lost 33% of its health.

Kedamono restored 6% of its health.

I kept thinking the Swampert was going to come back in, and he apparently kept thinking the Flygon was going to come back in. Forgoing Cursing up, I decide to just go for the kill, and finish that damned electric bird with a double dosage of Waterfall. Finally, Togekiss is avenged!

donovantx8 switched in Infernape (lvl 100 Infernape ?).
Infernape used Fake Out.
Kedamono lost 13% of its health.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.
Kedamono flinched!
Kedamono's leftovers restored its health a little!
Kedamono restored 6% of its health.
---
The Infernape comes in. I'm aware that some Infernapes carry HP-Ice, and I don't exactly want to risk letting my Flygon die and leaving me hopeless. I go in for the kill with a Waterfall, and he Fakes me Out yet again. I realize by then that it's hopeless. Later, Swampert. You did your job.
---
Infernape used Grass Knot.
It's super effective!
Kedamono lost 22% of its health.
Newblet-Phoenix's Kedamono fainted.
Infernape lost 10% of its health.
---
This is it, now; Flygon vs. Infernape. If I'm faster, I can KO with Earthquake. If he's faster, (consider that Infernape has 8 more base Speed than Flygon) he can Close Combat, HP-Ice, or do any number of things that'll make Flygon die. Cue the drumroll...

Newblet-Phoenix switched in Sunatama (lvl 100 Flygon ?).
Pointed stones dug into Sunatama.

Sunatama used Earthquake.
It's super effective!
Infernape lost 60% of its health.
donovantx8's Infernape fainted.
Newblet-Phoenix wins!
Newblet-Phoenix: ...Whoa.
---
Whoa indeed; I did it! Then the endgame banter happened, and I walked down to dinner a happy teen. Props and Slops coming soon after a brief interlude regarding my beloved Flygon's Speed.
---
donovantx8: it was scarfed?
Newblet-Phoenix: Not Scarfed, but still.
Newblet-Phoenix: Nah, LO.
donovantx8: how fast is it?
Newblet-Phoenix: ...Dunno. I could check it's stats.
donovantx8: lol its ok ill look it up gg
donovantx8 has left the room.
Props:
- Flygon, for winning me the match, being awesome as all hell, and still worth picking over Salamincemeat in my opinion.
- Starmie, for putting down the Breloom, the Uxie, and almost killing the Deoxys; more if I can think of it.
- Togekiss for absolutely refusing to die even when crippled
- Donovant's Uxie, for giving Starmie it's favorite pair of glasses back
- Swampert because it's a gigantic Mudkip, and because I say so
- Donovant's Infernape for providing an awesome endgame
- Donovant himself for giving an awesome match
- Donovant's Breloom for being a Breloom and annoying me
- My Dusknoir for not being able to do anything and dying early.
- The fact that Infernapes can learn Grass Knot and thus force Swampert away
- Me, for being a hypocrite because I use Grass Knot on my Ape myself.
- The random Critical Hit, because I completely forgot about Donovant's Scizor since it got killed too quickly
