[OVERVIEW]

Staryu is an excellent Rapid Spin user due to its good Speed stat and ability to handle Stealth Rock setters like Pawniard and Mudbray. It also has a very diverse movepool, with options like Psychic, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt to threaten metagame staples like Mienfoo, Foongus, and Mareanie. Analytic allows Staryu to punish its switch-ins with a powerful attack, while Natural Cure makes it a good status absorber and defensive Pokemon. However, Staryu struggles to break through bulky checks like Ferroseed and Foongus without careful prediction, and it is also forced out by offensive threats like Grookey and Magnemite.

Moves

Hydro Pump, especially when boosted by Analytic, deals heavy damage to neutral targets like Pawniard and Mienfoo. Thunderbolt targets Water- and Flying-types like Mareanie, Frillish, and Natu. Psychic 2HKOes Poison- and Fighting-types like Foongus, Mareanie, Mienfoo, and Timburr. Ice Beam handles Grass-types like Foongus and Grookey and serves as Staryu's best method to hit Ferroseed. Recover helps Staryu remain healthy to apply offensive pressure. Rapid Spin enables Staryu to remove troublesome entry hazards and gain a Speed boost to outspeed foes like Diglett and Choice Scarf Porygon, as well as avoiding a Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra.

Set Details
========

156 Defense EVs with Eviolite improve Staryu's physical bulk, letting it handle foes like Pawniard and Mudbray. 236 Speed EVs with a Timid nature let Staryu outspeed Mienfoo, Pawniard, and Vulpix and Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra. Analytic provides Staryu with a power boost, allowing it to 2HKO threats like Foongus, Mareanie, and Mienfoo on the switch with proper prediction.

Usage Tips
========

Staryu is best utilized as an early- and mid-game wallbreaker, utilizing its Analytic-boosted attacks to decimate defensive cores. Once troublesome Pokemon like Ferroseed and Frillish has been worn down, it can become even more threatening. Take advantage of Staryu forcing out threats like Mudbray and Koffing to unleash a strong Analytic-boosted attack on the incoming switch-in. Try to bring Staryu in via U-turn from Mienfoo or good double switches, as it must preserve as much HP as possible to handle strong neutral attacks.

Team Options
========

Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr handle Ferroseed, pressure shared checks like Foongus with Knock Off, and absorb Knock Off; Mienfoo also provides U-turn to help Staryu safely enter the battle, while Timburr provides Defog for secondary entry hazard removal. Diglett also makes a good partner, as it can trap Steel-types such as Pawniard and Magnemite, which makes it easier for Staryu to fire off Analytic-boosted attacks. Trapinch is an option over Diglett that can use First Impression to OHKO Grookey. On more offensive teams, Dwebble's entry hazard support allows Staryu to decimate defensive cores, especially in conjunction with teammates like Life Orb Abra and Choice Scarf Mudbray.

Moves
========

Scald is a great neutral attack to threaten Pokemon like Ponyta and Diglett and potentially cripple Pokemon such as Pawniard and Mienfoo. Thunderbolt targets Water- and Flying-types such as Frillish, Mareanie, and Natu. Thunder Wave is an option to cripple Pokemon like Abra, Galarian Ponyta, and Porygon, which Staryu cannot sufficiently pressure offensively. Rapid Spin gets rid of entry hazards and gives Staryu a Speed boost to outpace Diglett and avoid Speed tying with Abra, Ponyta, and opposing Staryu.

Set Details
========

Staryu runs 236 Speed EVs with a Timid nature to outpace Mienfoo, Mudbray, and Pawniard and Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra. With Eviolite, 116 HP EVs, and 156 Defense EVs, Staryu is able tank physical attacks from Mienfoo, Diglett, and Timburr and Stealth Rock setters like Mudbray and Pawniard. Natural Cure is the preferred ability to allow Staryu to absorb status from foes such as defensive Ponyta and Will-O-Wisp Koffing.

Usage Tips
========

Staryu is great in the early-game, utilizing Scald and Thunder Wave to cripple potent offensive threats like Mienfoo and Abra, but it can be preserved for mid- and late-game to soft check foes. It should try to come in on attacks from Onix and Choice Scarf Vulpix, as it can threaten them out with Scald or potential Thunder Wave. Staryu should be wary of Knock Off users such as Timburr, Mienfoo, and Pawniard, as they cripple its bulk and make it vulnerable to threats it can normally handle, like Diglett and Mudbray.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock-weak partners like Ponyta, Vulpix, and Archen appreciate Rapid Spin; in return, they pressure foes like Grookey and Foongus. Fighting-types such as Timburr and Mienfoo pair well with Staryu, as they can absorb Knock Off and threaten Magnemite, Ferroseed, and Porygon. Poison-types like Foongus and Koffing are great checks to Grookey, with Foongus also checking opposing Staryu and Koffing pressuring Ferroseed. Trappers such as Diglett and Trapinch can remove Pawniard and Magnemite.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Life Orb is an option on offensive teams to garner powerful rolls, such as 2HKOing Porygon with Hydro Pump and OHKOing fast Mienfoo with Psychic; however, this jeopardizes Staryu's bulk and longevity and makes it a less reliable Rapid Spin user. Flip Turn can be used on defensive Staryu to gain momentum, but it is outclassed by Scald's and Thunder Wave's utility. Light Clay is an option to give setup sweepers such as Shellder, Tyrunt, Magby, and Grookey an easier time setting up, but Staryu is more useful as a Rapid Spin user and offensive threat.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Ferroseed and Foongus can tank attacks from Staryu and threaten it with their STAB attacks, while Grookey revenge kills Staryu with Grassy Glide.

**Electric-type Pokemon and Coverage**: Electric-types like Magnemite OHKO Staryu with their STAB attacks. Pokemon like Porygon and Koffing carry Thunderbolt and force Staryu out.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off from Mienfoo, Timburr, and Pawniard cripples Staryu, leaving it vulnerable to foes like Diglett and Abra.

[OVERVIEW]

* Staryu is an excellent Pokemon thanks to its good Speed stat, access to Recover, and use Rapid Spin to get rid of troublesome entry hazards. (The wording here is kinda weird. This first sentence should mention why its the best spinner in the tier, which is due to its Speed and ability to threaten common Stealth Rock setters like Onix and Pawniard.)
* It also has a very colorful movepool, with options like Psychic, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt that allow it to threaten Mienfoo, Vullaby, Foongus and Mareanie. (Seems weird to mention two Pokemon that don't resist Water as targets for its coverage)
* It also has a good abibity with Nature Cure allowing it to absorb status for its teammates, while Analytic is useful due to its movepool allowing it to threaten Pokemon out, giving its attacks a boost.
* However, Staryu struggles with Grass-types like Grookey due to it being to OHKO it and being revneged killed by Electric-types like Magenemite (I would generalize the first part of this sentence to Grass-types because it also has a hard time breaking through Ferroseed and Foongus if you predict wrong)
* Staryu also has a problem with deciding what coverage move it needs due to its big movepool, leaving it with 4-move sydmdome. (This is pretty much the case for most Pokemon.)

Moves
========

* Scald is used as a great neutral attack against Vullaby, Tyrunt, and Mienfoo that has a chance to burn them and cripple them for the rest of the game and super-effecitively hit and take care of Pokemon like Onix, Diglett, and Archen. (This is worded weirdly and could be more concise. You can phrase it like "Scald is a great neutral attack that can threaten blah blah blah and cripple switch-ins such as Pawniard, Ferroseed, and Foongus with a burn.)
* Thunderbolt allows it to hit Mareanie, Vullaby, and opposing Staryu. (Should emphasize opposing Water-types (main reason) then Vullaby)
* Ice Beam is an option over Thunderbolt to super-effecetly take care of Vullaby, a weakened Foongus, and doing neutral damage to Ferroseed.
* Psychic is another option over Thunderbolt to super-effectily hit Mienfoo, Timburr, and Foongus.
(Defensive Star rarely runs either)
- Add Thunder Wave (Its generally better for crippling foes like Vullaby, Mienfoo, and Abra for itself and its teammates.)

* Recover keeps Staryu healthy throughout the match.
* Rapid Spin is used to get rid of entry hazards that can hinder its teammates from coming in and getting worn down. (Would also mention getting the +1 boost to outspeed Diglett and not risk ties with stuff like Abra and opposing Staryu.)

Set Details
========

* Staryu runs 236 Speed EVs with a Timid nature to outpace Mienfoo, Onix and Speed tie with Ponyta and Wingull Abra.
* With Evoilite 116 HP and 156 Defense EVs, this allows Staryu to tank physical attacks from Mienfoo and Scraggy. (Better examples would be Stealth Rock setters like Pawniard and Onix.)
* Natural Cure is the preferred ability to allow Staryu to get rid of status (examples?) on itself on the switch and take status for its teammates.

Usage Tips
========

* Staryu is great early-game to try to fish for Scald burns against physical attackers, or can be kept mid-game to where it can take down Vullaby and weaken physical attackers such as Timburr, Scraggy, and Pawniard.
* Staryu should try to come in on attacks from Ponyta, Onix, and Archen as it can threaten these out with Scald or potential Thunder Wave and can either get rid of entry hazards or get in a Pokemon that can take of the Pokemon that Staryu forces in. (Im not a big fan of Pony and Archen mention. Choice Scarf Pix is a better option for a Fire-type mention.)
* Staryu should come in against Ponyta and Koffing to absorb Will-O-Wisp for a teammate, and switch out to get rid of it.
* Staryu should come in verus Dewpider to use Rapid Spin to avoid Sticky Web from being up.
* Avoid leaving Staryu against Knock Off users such as Timburr, Mienfoo, and Pawniard, as this cripples it bulk and make it able to be taken care of by Mienfoo, Vullaby, and Timburr. (I would mention targets that it loses to without Eviolite. Mainly the Ground-types that it could check before like Diglett and Mudbray.)

Team Options
========

* Staryu pairs well with Ponyta, as it loves Staryu for getting rid of troublesome harzards and in return can threaten Ferroseed and Grookey that can give it trouble. (I dont think Pony + Star is that good or common. Maybe mention Choice Scarf Pix instead)
* Partners that can absorb Knock Off such as Timburr and Mienfoo pair well with Staryu as this allows Staryu to keep its bulk, and threaten out threats to these such as Vullaby with Ice Beam and in return take care of Magnemite, Ferroseed, and Porygon. (This is like a huge run-on sentence and needs to condense down. I assuming its something like "Fighting-types can absorb Knock Off and threaten blah blah blah while benefitting from Staryu threatening Vullaby.")
* Vullaby is a vital partner for Staryu, as it can threaten troublesome Pokemon for it like Grookey, Foongus and Ferroseed, use Knock Off to wear down Pokemon, and pivot in Staryu safely.
* Foongus is great for being one of the best checks to Grookey, while also providing support against opposing Staryu and Chinchou.
* Pokemon like Ferroseed and Pawniard can provide Stealth Rock support, which helps wear down Vullaby and use Knock Off to wear down the opposing team.
* Diglett is also good to pair with Staryu to trap Pokemon such as Magnemite and Pawniard that can give Staryu problems. Trapinch can do the same as the former, but can also ultize First Impression to OHKO Grookey.

* Hydro Pump is a great attack that goes well with Analytic to do big damage to any Pokemon that comes in that does not resist its attack.
* Thunderbolt is used for opposing Water- and Flying-types such as Wingull, Vullaby, Mareanie, and opposing Staryu. (Waters then Vullaby)
* Psychic is ued to 2HKO bulky Mienfoo, Foongus and Timburr. (It doesn't actually always 2HKO. Psychic's primary targets are Poison-types, then Fighting-types.)
* Ice Beam is used to 2HKO Foongus, Vullaby, and do decent damage to Ferroseed. (Advantage of Ice Beam is that it hits Grass-types while also providing a super effective move against Ground-types without risking a Hydro miss and Vullaby.)
* Rapid Spin allows Staryu to get rid of troublesome entry hazards for the team. (Mention speed boost too to outspeed stuff)
- Add a sentence on Recover

Set Details
========

Describe the other aspects of the set such as what the EVs do and nature/item.
* 156 Defense EVs with Eviolite is to allow it to tank physical attacks from Mienfoo, Timburr, and Scraggy Onix.
* 236 Speed EVs with a Timid nature Mienfoo, Onix and Speed tie with Ponyta and Wingull Abra.
* Analytic is used alongside 116 Special Attack EVs in order to turn its attack when the oppenet foe switches out into a threatening attack, espically if the opposing Pokemon that switches in does not resist the attack. (I would definitely mention Analytic is the reason why Staryu is able to 2HKO Foongus with either Ice Beam or Psychic when it tries to switch in.)

Usage Tips
========

* Staryu should try to be kept mid-game once its checks like Mienfoo, Ferroseed, and Porygon are worn down, as an Analytic Hydro Pump can do a chuck of damage towards them. (Neither of them are checks)
* Avoid Staryu getting Knock Off from Timburr, Mienfoo, and Pawniard, as Staryu needs to preserve its HP if it is not running Recover.
* Use Hydro Pump on Pokemon Staryu forces out, as a boosted Analytic Hydro Pump will do a lot of damage to the Pokemon that switches in if
* Try to bring Staryu in via U-turn from Mienfoo or Vullaby, as it will need to preserve as much HP as possible in order to keep itself from getting taken care of from a strong STAB attack from Vullaby or Mienfoo.
* Staryu should try to stay around if there is a Dewpider on the team as it can Rapid Spin the hazards up and beat it with Thunderbolt.

Team Options
========

* Staryu loves Mienfoo and Vullaby for bringing in Staryu safely, and Mienfoo can also take care of troublesome Steel-types like Ferroseed and Pawniard while Vullaby can take care of Grass-types like Grookey and Foongus.
* Pokemon that can come absrob Knock Off from Pawniard and Mienfoo such as Mienfoo and Spritzee Pawniard makes good partners from Staryu and love Staryu for threatening Mearanie and Koffing.
* Ponyta is also a great partner for Staryu, as it an ultize Flame Body to cripple Pokemon that try to to use Knock Off against Staryu such as Mienfoo and Pawniard, and use its Fire-typing to take down Ferroseed and Foongus.
* Pokemon that run Defog like Vullaby and Timburr are good to pair with Staryu to have another way to get up entry hazrds if Staryu cannot afford to take a hit.
* Diglett also makes a good partner, as it can trap Steel-types that trouble Staryu like Pawniard and Magnemite, which makes it easier for Staryu to fire off Analytic Hydro Pump.
* Trapinch is an option over Diglett that can use First Impression to OHKO Grookey.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

* Life Orb can be used over eviolite on Staryu's offensive set to make Staryu it able to 2HKO Porygon with Hydro Pump and OHKO fast Mienfoo with Psychic, however this makes Staryu unable to take attacks from Porygon and Vullaby from the loss of bulk that Evolite gives.
- Mention Flip Turn on defensive set
* Light Clay with dual screens is an option to give Shell Smashers and setup sweepers such as Shellder, Tyrunt, Vullaby, and Grookey an easier time setting up, but it is more userful as a Rapid Spin user and using its great movepool to take care of Vullaby, Mienfoo, and Mareanie.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Super-Effective Attacks**: Ferroseed, Magnemite, Porygon, and opposing Staryu are all able to take care of Staryu with using their Super-effective attacks. - This is super vague. Break this down into two sections: (Grass-types) and (Electric-types and Electric Coverage)

**Grass-types**: Mention Ferroseed and Foongus that can take hits and threaten it back. Mention Grookey that can easily revenge kill it.

**Electric-types and Electric Coverage**: Mention Magnemite that can OHKO it. Mention Porygon and Koffing that carry Thunderbolt.

**Knock Off**: Knock Off from Mienfoo, Timburr, and Pawniard cripple Staryu, as it has trouble living physical attacks from these, and make able to take care of it after some chip damage with Brave Bird. (What is this mention of Brave Bird coming from? Wording of sentence is a bit confusing)

Overall, there's a ton of grammar and wording errors that make this hard to check. I won't call you on specific ones, but please do a careful read-through when you write this up or else QC is going to have a hard time giving this a 3/3

Big change: please switch the set order (ie offensive before defensive)

It also has a very colorful diverse movepool with options like Psychic, Ice Beam, and Thunderbolt that allow it to threaten Foongus, Vullaby, and Mareanie much of the tier. Staryu has two great abilities as Natural Cure allows it to absorb status for its teammates while Analytic allows it to threaten Pokemon out, giving its attacks a boost to punish the switches it forces. (Reverse the order of the abilities in this sentence to fit the set order) However, Staryu struggles to break water checks like Mareanie and Ferroseed and Foongus due to not being able to break past them their bulk and is threatened out by their attacks, while offensive threats like Grookey and Magnemite can revenge kill Staryu.

Hydro Pump is a great powerful attack that goes well deals heavy damage to most of the tier with an Analytic to do great damage to Pokemon that does not resist its attack boost. Thunderbolt is useful for Water- and Flying-types such as Wingull, Mareanie, opposing Staryu, and Vullaby. Psychic is used to 2HKO hits hard against Foongus, Mareanie Poison-types, Mienfoo, and Timburr. (Made this Poison-types since Psychic is great for Koffing too) Ice Beam allows Staryu to 2HKO hits Foongus, Vullaby, and Grookey, and does decent damage to Ferroseed with an Analytic boost while also providing a way to super effectively hit Ground-types without relying on Hydro Pump. Rapid Spin is for Staryu to get rid of removes troublesome entry hazards for the team and also gives it Staryu a Speed boost, allowing it to outpace Diglett. Recover keeps Staryu healthy throughout the match.

Set Details
========

Using 156 Defense EVs with Eviolite allow it to tank physical attacks from Mienfoo and Onix. The given spread 236 Speed EVs with a Timid nature allows Staryu to outpace Mienfoo, Onix, most of the tier and Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra. Analytic is used alongside 116 Special Attack EVs in order to turn its attack when the foe switches out into a threatening attack, and 196 SpA let Staryu heavily punish switches especially if the opposing Pokemon that switches in does not resist the attack, which allows Staryu and to 2HKO Foongus, Vullaby, and Mareanie. (These edits are mostly for concision, but also reflect the new spread.)

Usage Tips
========

Staryu should be kept mid-game as once troublesome Pokemon checks like Porygon, Ferroseed and Magnemite Foongus are worn down, it can become a fearsome special attacker with an Analytic Hydro Pump. (Isn't it already a fearsome special attacker before its checks are dead?) Hydro Pump should be used on Pokemon Staryu forces out like Vullaby, Onix, and Timburr Koffing because thanks to Analytic it will do a lot of damage to any Pokemon that tries to switches in. (Somebody else may disagree, but I think Koffing is a better example of a mon Staryu forces out) Try to bring Staryu in via U-turn from Mienfoo or Vullaby, as it will need to preserve as much HP as possible to keep itself from getting taken care of from a strong STAB attack from Vullaby, Timburr, or Mienfoo. (I don't think Staryu needs pivots much more than anything else) Staryu should try to stay around if Dewpider on the opposing team as it can use Rapid Spin to get rid of Sticky Web and beat it with Thunderbolt.

Team Options
========

Staryu loves Mienfoo and Vullaby for bringing in Staryu safely, and Staryu can beat checks to these pivots like Onix, Koffing, and Mareanie. Mienfoo and Timburr can also take care of troublesome Steel-types like Ferroseed and Pawniard while Vullaby can take care of check other Grass-types like Grookey and Foongus. (Pawniard doesn't give Staryu that much trouble) Mienfoo and Pawniard can absorb Knock Off from Pokemon like Pawniard and Vullaby and these love Staryu for threatening Mearanie and Koffing. (I don't think having a knock absorber is that important to Staryu) Vullaby and Timburr can run remove entry hazards with Defog to have another way to get up entry hazards if Staryu cannot afford to take a hit drops Rapid Spin. Diglett also makes a good partner, as it can trap Steel-types such as Pawniard and Magnemite, which makes it easier for Staryu to fire off Analytic Hydro Pump. (Analytic Hydro pretty much kills both of these dudes) Trapinch is an option over Diglett that can use can trap and OHKO Grookey with First Impression, to OHKO Grookey and Foongus checks Grookey as well.

Scald is a great neutral attack a reliable STAB move that can threaten Pokemon like Onix and Diglett and cripple spread burns on physical attackers Pokemon such as Pawniard and Mienfoo. Recover keeps Staryu healthy throughout the match. Rapid Spin is used to get rid of removes entry hazards and lets Staryu get a speed boost to avoid the Speed tie from Abra and opposing Staryu, and to outpace Diglett. Thunderbolt allows it to hit Water-types such as and Vullaby. Thunder Wave is an option over Thunderbolt to cripple Pokemon like Abra, Mienfoo, and Vullaby for itself and its teammates. (Changed the sentence order here to reflect the new move order)

Set Details
========

Staryu runs 236 Speed EVs The given Speed investment with a Timid nature to lets Staryu outpace Mienfoo, Onix, most of the tier and Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra. With Evoilite, 116 HP and 156 Defense EVs, this allows Staryu to can tank physical attacks from Mienfoo, Diglett, and Timburr and Stealth Rock settlers like Onix and Pawniard. Natural Cure is the preferred ability to allow Staryu to get rid of status on itself on the switch and take absorb status for its teammates from Pokemon like Pawniard, Foongus, and Mareanie's Toxic Spikes. (idk if Pawn is a great example of a status spreader, but if we're keeping that mention, maybe we should explain that it runs twave)

Usage Tips
========

Staryu is great in the early-game to try to as it can fish for Scald burns against physical attackers or can be kept mid-game to where it can take down Vullaby and weaken physical attackers such as Timburr, Scraggy, and Pawniard. It should try to come in on attacks from Onix and Choice Scarf Vulpix as it can threaten these out with Scald or a potential Thunder Wave. It can also use Rapid Spin to either to get rid of entry hazards or get in a Pokemon that can take of the Pokemon that Staryu forces in. (I would emphasize this more, including talking about bringing Staryu in to deny rocks aggressively since it can take more hits) Staryu should can come in against Ponyta and Koffing as it can absorb Will-O-Wisp for a teammate and switch out to get rid of it thanks to Nature Cure, though it must beware super-effective coverage from both. Staryu should come in versus Dewpider to use Rapid Spin to avoid Sticky Web from being up. Thunder Wave should be used to get Pokemon that commonly come in against Staryu such as Porygon and Mienfoo and can be used to slow down Pokemon that tie with Staryu such as Abra. (does mienfoo commonly come in on Staryu? it doesn't exactly like Scald) Staryu should be wary against Knock Off users such as Timburr, Mienfoo, and Pawniard, as this cripples its bulk and make it able to be taken care of by Diglett and Mudbray. (Staryu doesn't hate knock that much more than anything else. I would add something about being wary about opposing Diglett trapping you)

Team Options
========

Choice Scarf Vulpix, Vullaby, and Ponyta love Staryu for getting rid of Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin and in these Pokemon in return, it can threaten Ferroseed and Grookey can give it trouble. (Mention that NP Vull basically needs Staryu as a teammate) Fighting-types that can absorb Knock Off such as Timburr and Mienfoo pair well with Staryu and can threaten out threats with checks like Magnemite, Ferroseed, and Porygon while Staryu in return can take care of Vullaby with Ice Beam Thunderbolt. Vullaby is a vital partner for Staryu, as it can threaten troublesome Pokemon for it like Grookey, Foongus, and Ferroseed, use Knock Off to wear down Pokemon, and pivot in Staryu safely. (It's a defensive set, no need to emphasize pivoting it in) Foongus is a great partner for being as it is one of the best checks to Grookey, while also providing support against opposing Staryu. Trapinch can trap Pokemon such as Magnemite and Pawniard and can also use First Impression to OHKO Grookey. Diglett is also good to pair with Staryu to trap Pokemon such as Magnemite and Pawniard Ferroseed.

Other Options
=============

Life Orb can be used over Eviolite on Staryu's offensive set to make it able to 2HKO Porygon with Hydro Pump and OHKO fast Mienfoo with Psychic, though it is worn down extremely quickly and can be easily trapped by Diglett and Trapinch. however, this makes Staryu unable to take attacks from Porygon and Vullaby from the loss of bulk that Evolite gives. (Offensive Staryu is not good at taking hits from these dudes anyway) Flip Turn can be used on the defensive set in to gain momentum for the team but is not worthwhile due to Scald and Thunderbolt being more useful. A set with Light Clay and dual screens is an option to give pair with setup sweepers such as Shellder Scraggy, Tyrunt, and Vullaby, and Grookey an easier time setting up, but it is generally outclassed in this role by Natu more useful as a Rapid Spin user and using its great movepool to take care of Vullaby, Mienfoo, and Mareanie. (Natu being a better setter is more relevant as to why you shouldn't run this)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Grass-types**: Ferroseed and Foongus can tank any attack from Staryu and threaten it with their Grass STAB attacks while Grookey can revenge kill Staryu with Grassy Glide. (Mention that Foongus must worry about analytic ice beam/psychic and that Grookey can't switch in well)

**Electric-types and Electric Coverage**: Electric-types like Magnemite can OHKO with its Electric STAB attacks. Porygon and Koffing also carry Thunderbolt and can threaten Staryu out. (Mention that none of these dudes like switching into Staryu. I know DC recommended Electric-types, but there's really only one relevant electric type so it feels a bit silly to phrase it that way)

**Knock Off**: Knock Off from Mienfoo, Vullaby, Timburr, and Pawniard cripple Staryu, as it will have trouble living physical attacks from these. (Knock Off is not a Staryu counter)

(I think Diglett deserves a specific mention in this section, because Final Gambit traps are often the most dangerous thing for Staryu in a match)

However, Staryu struggles to break through bulky checks like Ferroseed and Foongus without careful prediction due their bulk, and it is also threatened by offensive threats (could reword this to fix the 'threat' redundancy and be more specific) like Grookey and Magnemite.

Moves
========

Rapid Spin enables Staryu to remove troublesome entry hazards and gain a Speed boost to outspeed foes like Diglett and Choice Scarf Porygon, as well as avoiding the a Speed tie with Ponyta and Abra.

Set Details
========

Usage Tips
========

Try to bring Staryu in via U-turn from Mienfoo or on good double switches, as it will need to must preserve as much HP as possible to handle strong neutral attacks.

Team Options
========

Fighting-types such as Mienfoo and Timburr handle Ferroseed, pressure shared checks like Foongus with Knock Off, and absorb Knock Off; Mienfoo also provides U-turn to help Staryu safely enter the battle, while Timburr provides Defog and acts as a for secondary entry hazard remover removal. Diglett also makes a good partner, as it can trap Steel-types such as Pawniard and Magnemite, which makes it easier for Staryu to fire off Analytic-boosted Hydro Pump. (they don't resist that, did you mean another move) Trapinch is an option over Diglett that can use First Impression to OHKO Grookey. On more offensive teams, Dwebble's entry hazard support allows Staryu to decimate opposing defensive cores, especially in conjunction with teammates like Life Orb Abra and Choice Scarf Mudbray.

Moves
========

Scald is a great neutral attack to threaten Pokemon like Ponyta and Diglett and potentially cripple Pokemon such as Pawniard and Mienfoo. Thunderbolt targets Water- and Flying-types such as Frillish, Mareanie, and Natu. Thunder Wave is an option to cripple Pokemon like Abra, Galarian Ponyta, and Porygon, which it Staryu cannot sufficiently pressure offensively. Recover keeps Staryu healthy throughout the match and helps it soft check various threats. Rapid Spin gets rid of entry hazards and gives Staryu a Speed boost to outpace Diglett and avoid Speed tying with Abra, Ponyta, and opposing Staryu as well as outpace Diglett.

Set Details
========

Natural Cure is the preferred ability to allow Staryu to absorb status for its teammates.

Usage Tips
========

Staryu is great in the early-game, utilizing Scald and Thunder Wave to cripple potent offensive threats like Mienfoo and Abra, (comma) but it can be preserved for and can be preserved into the mid- and late-game to soft check foes. It should try to come in on attacks from Onix and Choice Scarf Vulpix, as it can threaten them out with Scald or potential Thunder Wave. Staryu can also use Rapid Spin to either to get rid of entry hazards, which is especially helpful in the Dwebble matchup, and can absorb status from foes like Staryu and defensive Ponyta. (spin is good against hazards, no duh, and the status stuff should be in natural cure explanation) Thunder Wave can be used to apply to foes like Abra and Porygon, allowing Staryu's teammates to have a much easier time handling them. Staryu should be wary of Knock Off users such as Timburr, Mienfoo, and Pawniard, as they cripple its bulk and make it vulnerable to threats it can normally handle, like Diglett and Mudbray.

Team Options
========

Stealth Rock-weak partners like Ponyta, Vulpix, and Archen appreciate Rapid Spin; in return, they pressure foes like Grookey and Foongus. Fighting-types such as Timburr and Mienfoo pair well with Staryu, as they can absorb Knock Off and threaten threats like Magnemite, Ferroseed, and Porygon.

=============

Life Orb is an option on offensive teams to garner crucial powerful rolls, such as 2HKOing Porygon with Hydro Pump and OHKOing fast Mienfoo with Psychic; however, this jeopardizes Staryu's bulk and longevity and makes it a less reliable Rapid Spin user.

===================

**Grass-types**: Ferroseed and Foongus can tank attacks from Staryu and threaten it with their Grass STAB attacks, while Grookey revenge kills Staryu with Grassy Glide.
