I dunno why I'm starting this thread, i just need to rant and ask if anyone else has had this problem.

I've started to make a borderline team, and decided i'd make a probopass...

Probopass with leftovers
252 hp, 252 sp attack, 6 sp defence.
Iron defence
thunder wave
thunderbolt
EARTH POWER

My Only concern was earth power, nosepass learns it at level 73 and getting it to that high a level would be a major drain of my time, so i decided to look on the gts and lo and behold a level 100 nosepass, For a dialga. I decided to bite the bullet and do the trade and then breed my nosepass with earth power with my modest ditto.

all is going well until my first egg hatches. and theres NO EARTH POWER!
all the other moves are there, except tackle where earth power should be. Why? it's not a probopass exclusive move, nosepass can learn it but can't pass it on. Is this a glitch? This has never happened to me before.

This goes against my principles, but if anyone there is a happy hacker, would they be able 2 help a guy out and put earth power on my modest nosepass for me. If not well I'm gonna have to rethink my team.

*rant over*
Thanks for reading

Davy what do you mean, Females give off natures while males give off moves. Thats what i've always been told. It's a male Nosepass if thats what you mean.

For moves that cannot be learned by TM and are NOT egg moves (egg moves being such goodies as DD Gyarados and Ice Punch Weavile), BOTH parents must know the move for the offspring to be passed on the resulting move.

Example: Male Tangela with Giga Drain (TM), Sleep Powder (Lvlup), Leech Seed (Egg Move) breeds with Female Tangela with Sleep Powder, Bind.

Egg Baby Tangela gets Giga Drain (because it can learn it from TM), Sleep Powder (Both parents learn it from lvlup), and Leech Seed, the egg move).

But what if it were the other way around?
Male Tangela with Sleep Powder, Bind
Female Tangela with Giga Drain, Leech Seed, Sleep Powder

Egg Baby Tangela gets Sleep Powder (both know it from level up). But that's it..

You unfortunately have a very narrow view of what can be passed via breeding (EVEN IF THE FATHER HAS MOVES) please consult the Smogon Breeding guides for a wake-up call =]
