Hey there! Back with another team after like 124123 years of dormancy. So I suck either way butttt I got to 1800 but forgot to screenshot killme (still not top 10 but w/e)
So let's cut all the shamblammery and get into it !!!!!
Lopunny-Mega @ Lopunnite
Ability: Limber -> Scrappy
EVs: 252 ATK / 252 Spe / 4 SpDef
Nature: Jolly
- Fake Out
- Return
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
Mega Lopunny's Speed tier is phenomenal, especially when it is paired with with strong STAB moves such as Return + HJK, which deals a ton of damage to mons that don't resist / take these attacks very well, e.g) Latios, or even opposing Lopunny(ies?) I then have Fake Out to do a bit of a chip damage to the opposition. Finally I have Ice Punch for coverage to 2HKO bulky lando n tankchomp. I have Limber on the non Mega Lopunny so that I can't get paralysed. Standard EVs to max out my speed and attack to utilize Lopunny's speed and attack stats as much as I can.
Volcanion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4Def
Nature: Modest
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower
- Sludge Wave
- HP Grass
Volcanion is a monster when paired with a Modest Nature and a Choice Specs: It can OHKO many Pokemon with Steam Eruption that don't resist water such as regular DD Mega Zard, Mega Lopunny, for example. I then added Flamethrower to further the damage possible to Pokemon that resist Water (Grass Types mainly) apart from Dragon Types/WaterTypes. I then added Sludge wave to help OHKO fairies that could take a Steam Eruption, like Mega Altaria and HP Grass to hit Pokemon like Keldeo or Rotom, which does quite a lot of damage. I feel like the moves used aren't that good coverage wise but it worked to get to 1800 so I mean, it's decent I guess. I then just used max speed + max SpA to maximize the amount of damage Volcanion can do. Volcanion also helps me break physDef Walls
Landorus-T @ Yache Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Nature: Adamant
-Swords Dance
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Rock Polish
I wanted to have a setup sweeper alongside the hard hitters to help break walls, mostly. Swords Dance Lando combined with Lando's attack stat can really help break walls for the other mons to clean up. If I do somehow manage to get an SD and a RP up, not many people prepare for it, leaving it to decimate a lot of offensive built teams, which don't prepare for it, making it easier for the rest of my team. Although, whilst climbing up the ladder, it didn't put as much work as I thought it would so I'm not sure if it fits well on the team or if it could be replaced but whatever. Yeah I just used the standard set that Smogon provided n yeah. Landorus-T.
Amoonguss @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 168 Def / 92 SpDef
Nature: Bold
-Spore
-Giga Drain
-Clear Smog
-Stun Spore
Amoonguss' defensive pivot set is really good in my opinion. It helps wall quite a lot of mons that would otherwise kill my team. It really helps with Mega Lopunny which destroys my team if it has Ice Punch. Even then, no Ice Punch Lop still does a shit ton of work against my team so riP. Yeah but I run Spore + Stun Spore so that once a pokemon is sent to sleep and they switch out, I can cripple another mon with Stun Spore (providing it hits) which is always good. I then just run double STAB coverage for some sense of offensive with Amoonguss and to help wear down a few mons. Not much else to say really: standard Smogon Set with a Bold Nature to help even more with Lop, Regenerator to heal back some health as I don't have any reliable recovery moves on this set.
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 80 Def / 180 SpDef
Nature: Relaxed
-Stealth Rock
-Pursuit
-Stone Edge
-Ice Beam
Tyranitar is also really useful on this team by helping with birdspam mainly (which is sort of an issue to this team) xd It helps with Talonflame mainly and the Lati Twins which would allow them to steamroll my team with their hardhitting Draco Meteors. Every team needs a Stealth Rocker and so this mon is my designated one. Great amount of bulk paired with access to a move which essentially traps mons if used right, Stone Edge: a hard hitting STAB move to hit flying types such as Talon ( as mentioned earlier) I finally have Ice Beam to heavily damage mons such as SR Lando / Tank Chomp who try to trade rocks, which results in them taking a ton of damage from Ice Beam. I then just ran the standard Smogon EVs recommended for T-Tar to help take tons of hits from special attackers and some physical attackers, such as T-Flame xd. Finally, I am running Smooth Rock with T-Tar to prolong the amount of sand turns it has which boosts it's bulk along with helping the Pokemon that is about to be mentioned below utilise it's amazing attack stat better.
Excadrill Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Nature: Adamant
-Earthquake
-Iron Head
-Rock Slide
-Rapid Spin
Not much to say here really.. STAB EQ + Iron Head to hit incredibly hard with a Life Orb and it's 130+ attack stat. Rock Slide to hit flying types which are immune to Exca's ground type STAB (Earthquake.) Finally, Rapid Spin to clear rocks and other hazards on the field to assist other team mates via not being impacted negatively from hazards. Life Orb to boost damage output + max spe and max atk EVs to also maximize damage output. Again, Adamant Nature to boost damage output. Not much to say.. xd
Overall, I don't really think this is a well structured team really. Keldeo does so much damage against my team through a powerful Hydro Pump or a Choice Specs Scald / Secret Sword. Especially if Amoonguss is whittled, I don't have much to take care of hard hitting mons like Keldeo / Mega Lop. Along with that, Lati Twins have a run through my team, with my only resist being Exca and my "counter" being T-Tar which also gets whittled fairly easily to the point where Lati then proceeds to steamroll this team. Which is why I'm relying on you guys to help me improve the team so that I can get better and climb higher on the leader, hopefully being able to achieve the status of top #1 on the ladder, which is very unlikely but hey: ya gotta set on something right? Thanks for reading this far I guess.
Thanks again! n_n
