Hey everyone! I am officially new to smogon but have been playing pokemon nonstop for my whole life. My eyes were opened about a year ago to competitive play and here is my first RMT.
Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Power Whip
- Gyro Ball
- Leech Seed
- Stealth Rock
Ferrothorn here is my lead. His high defense investments often guarantee a Stealth Rock unless he gets paired with a strong physical fire-type sweeper. His item rocky helmet and his ability iron barbs punish any physical attackers that try to hit him often losing quite a but of health. Gyro ball and Power Whip are for stab and leech seed gives him a little better longevity.
Dragonite @ Leftovers
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Dragon Tail
- Thunder Wave
- Roost
- Substitute
Pretty unexpected right? Parashuffle/Dragonite here is a bit of a troll and the surprise factor when you expect a sweeper and get a status spreader is nice. He paralyzes his attacker first turn and because of multiscale tanks most everything I have seen. Then he hides behind a substitute ad he heals with Roost to get multiscale back and phases the other pokemon wearing them down with Dragon tail. He enjoys Stealth Rock support from Ferrothorn as it wears them down even further. He does have a bit of a problem with fairies who wall him pretty good as he deals them no damage with Dragon tail, however no one enjoys being paralyzed only for him to restore himself all the way and then switch into someone else. Leftovers is for a little bit more recovery and comes in handy.
Togekiss @ Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Air Slash
- Dazzling Gleam
- Baton Pass/Roost
- Nasty Plot
Togekiss is an all around great pokemon who likes to tank hits. His HP and SDef investment give him a lot of bulk allowing him to set up and sweep. Until recently I ran him with Baton Pass however I only have one special sweeper (other than himself) to give a nasty plot to, and Greninja cannot take a lot of hits. Therefore I switched to Roost for reliable recovery outside of leftovers to make him last longer on the field. He shares a weakness to electric with Charizard and Dragonite however Excadrill is a good check to this and Charizard looses this weakness when he goes Mega-X. Air Slash and Dazzling Gleam are for coverage and give him stab. He has good synergy with Dragonite because his mediocre to low speed and he loves paralysis.
Greninja @ Life Orb
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Extrasensory
- Ice Beam
Greninja is my main special sweeper. Protean makes him very difficult to predict and the stab on everything is godly. Because he is so frail and is OHKO by pretty much everything he doesn't care about the drain from life orb and doesn't need a boost (but really enjoys one). Most of his moves are standard however I gave him Extrasensory to deal with Fighting types who like to try and set up on his dark typing. Also this puts him apart from other run of the mill Greninjas who like to carry Grass Knot. I chose Hydro Pump over scald because of the raw power difference. I know it loses accuracy and it's burn chance but it allows Greninja to plow through even things that resist its other moves that often give him hell.
Charizard @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Dragon Claw
- Roost
- Dragon Dance
Charizard has always been a favorite of mine and i am so happy they have brought him back to the metagame with two mega evolutions. He is my physical sweeper and his main move is Flare Blitz. After one or two Dragon Dances he plows through pretty much anything that doesn't resist
and sometimes even if it does. He also outspeed quite a lot too. Dragon Claw is for stab and Roost allows him to recover from recoil and Stealth Rock damage.
Excadrill @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
- Swords Dance
Excadrill functions as my rapid spin user and with Air Ballon can switch into an Earthquake with no damage. Swords Dance allows him to boost if given the chance and Rock Slide gives him coverage for those immune to Earthquake. He also checks electric types very well and can switch into toxic spikes without fear in order to spin.
Any help is appreciated! Thanks alot!

Ferrothorn @ Rocky Helmet
