VGC Step 1: Rain Dance Step 2: ??? Step 3: Profit

I was looking around at odd moves and re-stumbled upon the Dry-Freeze. Super effective on water ice type move, 70 base power, nothing too special. Wait... YES IT IS! That move hits most of the biggest threats for 4x super effective damage! Garchomp, Mega Salamence, Ludicolo, Gyarados, Mega Sceptile, Mega Swampert, Landorus, and Gastrodon the biggest names I thought of. In addition, it hits Rotom-Wash for 2x damage as well. Looking through the list of Pokemon that could learn this unique move, one stood out to me: Articuno. It seemed to be the most usable out of the choices (Mamoswine, Glalie, Lapras, Aurorus, Cryogonal, and the aforementioned Articuno). I decided to build a team around it, and noticed that Articuno also got Hurricane. Thus the idea for a rain team was born! Here's the starting lineup, check'em out and tell me what I can fix. Thanks for your time!

Articuno @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- U-turn
- Ancient Power
- Freeze-Dry
- Hurricane

The original heart of the team, it has pretty crappy speed for a legendary. Luckily, it's SpA is decent, and it is considerably bulky. The use of Freeze-Dry is explained above, Hurricane is a strong STAB with 100% accuracy in the rain. U-turn is to get Articuno out of a sticky situation, and Ancient Power is just for extra coverage. In the end it's a fun Pokemon to run and it can hit opposing teams surprisingly hard.

Liepard @ Damp Rock
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rain Dance
- Taunt
- Encore
- Knock Off

My favorite Prankster! With awesome speed, access to that crippling Encore-Taunt combo, and the all powerful Prankster ability, this messes with the opponents' teams while setting up Rain Dance for the rest of the team. First turn Fake Out or Protect? Encore! This can effectively force a switch out into a more favorable match up for your partner.

Swampert @ Swampertite
Ability: Torrent
Level: 50
EVs: 84 HP / 252 Atk / 172 Spe
- Ice Punch
- Waterfall
- Earthquake
- Protect

What's that blur of blue that just flew by you? Sonic the Hedgehog? NO! It's Swift Swim Mega Swampert! This thing has it all: power, speed, and bulk. Any way you look at it, this thing causes some serious damage to other teams. Standard moveset for coverage and power. The problem is that pesky grass weakness...

Miltank @ Life Orb
Ability: Sap Sipper
Level: 50
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Hammer Arm
- Iron Head
- Return
- Protect

...Luckily, the infamous Miltank takes care of that! With it's Sap Sipper ability, it's easy to bait a grass attack out on Mega Swampert and switch into this monster, getting a +1 boost in attack! With its plethora of coverage moves, it rounds out the team nicely.

Azelf @ Mental Herb
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Rain Dance
- Protect
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam

Every weather team needs two weather setters. Why not a fast and powerful one? At first, I was caught off guard by Azelf's speed and offensive power. This little fella is a staple on this team, being a reliable revenge killer and a nightmare for three big threats in the meta: Scrafty, Hydreigon, and Sableye. In addition, that powerful STAB Psychic hits like a truck on unsuspecting opponents.

Goodra @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Hydration
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Thunder
- Sludge Bomb
- Protect

This slimy dragon holds a special place on this team. Status ailments? No thanks. In addition, its high SpD lets it take Ice Beams and Dazzling Gleams, activating that deadly Weakness Policy. It almost always comes through for this team, providing the bulk needed to survive for that crucial last turn. This lovable creature is helpful member of this team.

Please rate this team, I really want to use it in the upcoming regionals, but right now it's not just getting the wins I know that it can. Thanks for your time, and have a good day!

I really like the Liepard and Azelf choices (always a fan of more unorthodox picks in the meta), I honestly think that a Politoed would greatly benefit your team, as that one (or two) turns that Drizzle can save you can make a pretty big difference (plus a STAB rain boosted Hydro Pump can put in a lot of work). I also noticed that your team is really offensive, maybe dedicating some EVs towards defenses will help acquire those wins you are looking for. Notable attacks you want to be able to survive are Choice Banded Adamant Talonflame, Mega Kangaskahn's Double Edge, and Sylveon's Pixie Plate+Pixilate boosted STAB Hyper Voice.
