Always wanted to build a team around M.Gardevoir. So here it is. Peaked 1700 earlier today.
Gardevoir @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Taunt
- Focus Blast
The main focus of the team. Gardevoir is the sweeper, once all of it's counters are gone or weakened to the point that they are KOd. If everything goes right, all I have to do is click Hyper Voice until things die. I always wanted to build a team around M. Gardevoir, and while she hits like a truck, the speed and bulk leaves much to be desired. Because of Galvantula, I run 252 HP / 252+ SpA for some extra bulk. Taunt against Pink blobs, clef, or anyone who tries to set up for whatever reason. Wish I could replace focus miss with someone else.
Galvantula @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Thunder
- Bug Buzz
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Hidden Power [Fire] ?
Galvantula is used for the sole purpose of setting up Sticky Web, and acts as a reasonable counter lead/revenge killer if it survives that long. HP Ice used over Energy Ball/TWave/Volt Switch to get clean 2HKO on lead garchomp after Bug Buzz, and smacking non-scarf Lando-T/Lando regular, and for hitting DNite and s tuff. I ran HP [Fire] a bit to take on lead Ferrothorn, but HP [Ice] hits more targets, and allows me to tie against Terrakion and at least attempt a 2HKO.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 Def
- Volt Switch
- Roost
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Heat Wave
Zapdos is the physical tank of the team, primarily a M.Pinsir and other dangerous physical attack check, getting the 2HKO/OHKO on things like Bisharp, Breloom (who is outsped after Sticky Web) Ferrothorn. HP Ice to smack dragons and predicted Lando-T switch ins, as well as being more reliable than 90% Heat Wave on low health things.
Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Healing Wish
- Roost
Latias is the specially defensive pokemon of the team. Standard Psyshock/Draco Meteor, roost to aid tanking, and Healing Wish to give a statused/hurt Gardevoir or other pokemon a second chance to do their role. No HP [Fire] because I lose the speed tie against Gengar with it. No Defog as I feel Roost is better, and the team as a whole is not that weak against SR.
Landorus-Therian (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 248 HP / 152 Def / 108 Spe
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 SpA
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
Lando-T for rocks, and coverage against Heatran, and some physical Mega pokemon through intimidate. 108 Spe to beat neutral Celebi, Jirachi. I used to run 136 Spe to beat Greninja after web, but I generally prefer to just trade hits with Gardevoir if needed instead, as Gardevoir has sizable natural special bulk.
Bisharp @ Black Glasses
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Low kick
- Sucker Punch
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
Bisharp is used to keep web safe from defog users, although the best I can do against rapid spinners is to send in Gardevoir and threaten KOs with focus miss. Low Kick lets me cheese out against opposing Bisharp when I have web up :D Jolly over Adamant might have been back from when I used LO. Is there anything in particular that I tie against? All I can think of is that I can tie against +0 Techniloom's mach punch and pick up a KO if its low enough (occasionally due to sash).
Recap:
-Rapid spin clears my web more often than I'd like it to.
-Gengar absolutely destroys this if I lose the speed tie with Latias.
-Many Talonflame variants (Bulky WoW, SD) can stall/KO out the entire team if Latias is gone.
-M.Gardevoir doesn't learn Aura Sphere
I used to run a SDef Sylveon with Psyshock/Hypervoice/Heal Bell/Wish over Latias as a way to get around Gengar, but piss poor coverage of that set (and the fact that given Sylveon needed to sponge other special hits, Sylveon tended to get KO'd first anyway) led me to replace her with a Healing Wish Latias instead.
Also tried Jellicent as a spinblocker, but damn, that thing can't take hits very well in this new knock-off spam game ;_;
