SV OU Sticky Web Hyper Offense (secretly an Iron Moth team)

Introduction
It’s been a while since I’ve team-build (last time was Generation 8), and I definitely suck at it now with all these new meta changes and new pokemon added to an already long roster. I’m mainly a balance archetype kind of person, but this team I made is purely Hyper Offense…Revolving around some of my favorite pokemon from Generation 9. I did around 20 battles with the team and picked ten of the replays that I thought would be interesting enough to pin as reference to what I can improve in the future. Disclaimer: I don’t know every set or EV spreads of these pokemon, I took all these sets from Smogon.

The Team

:sv/ribombee: :sv/gholdengo: :sv/raging bolt: :sv/great tusk: :sv/iron moth: :sv/meowscarada:

:ribombee:

Ribombee (F) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Shield Dust
Shiny: Yes
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sticky Web
- Moonblast
- Stun Spore
- Psychic Noise

Role: The team’s web-setter, with Tera Ghost to block Rapid Spin when necessary.
Thought Process: When choosing my first pokemon for this team, I didn’t really have anyone in mind, After scrolling through the list of OU pokemon on Showdown, :ribombee: caught my eye so I chose them to build my team around. Since webs act as the speed control, I mainly try to look for a slow, hard-hitting pokemon to synergize with :ribombee:’s webs.

:ribombee: :Gholdengo:

Gholdengo @ Air Balloon
Ability: Good as Gold
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 Spe
Bold Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Shadow Ball
- Recover
- Make It Rain

Role: Rapid Spin/Defog blocker, I picked a defensive EV spread since I wanted it to have some bulk while using Nasty Plot to set up its SpA.
Thought Process: Since I intend for :ribombee: to be a suicide lead, I never intended to Tera Ghost it to block Rapid Spin. Having a second hazard-removal blocker also helps the team a lot. Apart from that, :gholdengo: is overall a good pokemon that hits super hard while this EV spread allows it to take more hits than it should’ve.

:ribombee: :gholdengo: :Raging Bolt:

Raging Bolt @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 64 HP / 28 Def / 252 SpA / 164 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 20 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Thunderclap
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunderbolt

Role: 1st Wallbreaker that comes to mind. Even without Calm Mind, the Spa Boost from Booster energy makes its moves hit like a truck.
Thought Process: Following the sticky web synergy, I picked :Raging bolt: to fulfill one of the slow, but hard-hitting pokemon on the team. There isn’t much thought behind it apart from that, though it also serves as an electric type that can hit Steel, Flying, Water for Super Effective Damage.

:ribombee: :gholdengo: :raging bolt: :Great Tusk:

Great Tusk @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Bulk Up
- Headlong Rush
- Ice Spinner
- Close Combat

Role: The 2nd wallbreaker and Physical Attacker. I debated swapping this pokemon out for something else or changing its Booster Energy stat boost on multiple occasions…
Thought Process: It’s a bit of an eh whatever pokemon I put on the team. I got rid of Rapid Spin for Close Combat since I didn’t really have trouble with hazards. It’s dealt with a fair share of the team’s enemies, mainly I wanted to bait :landorus therian: and kill it with Ice Spinner, but in the end this guy never got to utilize its full potential.

:ribombee: :gholdengo: :raging bolt: :Great Tusk: :Iron Moth:

Iron Moth @ Booster Energy
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 124 Def / 132 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fiery Dance
- Sludge Wave
- Tera Blast
- Substitute

Role: 2nd Special Wallbreaker/Sweeper. Arguably the team’s mascot and hard carry.
Thought Process: I mean, after :Volcarona: (banned, rip), :iron moth: has got to be one if my favorite pokemon to use in this generation. It’s Booster Energy still gives a Speed boost, but I kept it that way in case I couldn’t keep Sticky Webs up.

:ribombee: :gholdengo: :raging bolt: :Great Tusk: :Iron Moth: :Meowscarada:

Meowscarada @ Choice Band
Ability: Protean
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- Flower Trick
- Triple Axel
- U-turn

Role: Knock Off user/:garganacl: check-ish
Thought Process: The last spot on the team changed like 3 times, first it was :rillaboom:’s spot, but I found that it didn’t really work on this team, then I swapped it out for :ceruledge: cus I thought it was cool. It did a bit of work, until I got completely thrown off my high horse by some blocks of salt, :Garganacl:, that’s when I decided to give the team’s last spot to :meowscarada:.
