Araquanid makes for a good Sticky Web setter for Bug teams due to having more bulk than other Sticky Web setters, such as Galvantula and Ribombee, as well as being a huge asset to Bug teams with its Water Bubble ability, resisting Fire-type moves and hitting Fire-type Pokemon super effectively. Liquidation is a strong STAB move capable of 2HKOing common entry hazard removers such as Great Tusk and Iron Treads. Infestation helps trap and check Pokemon, such as Gouging Fire and Ceruledge, that would otherwise be problematic for Bug teams. Mirror Coat is used to take advantage of Araquanid's naturally good special bulk to OHKO threats such as Raging Bolt and Zapdos.

Choice Scarf Kleavor is a great teammate for Araquanid because it can deal with Fire- and Flying-types such as Ogerpon-H, Moltres, and Articuno. Kleavor's Stone Axe also synergizes nicely with Araquanid’s Sticky Web, as more entry hazards further help the sweepers and wallbreakers on the team while also breaking Ceruledge's Focus Sash, which would otherwise be a huge problem for Bug teams. Scizor is another great teammate for Araquanid, as Sticky Web enables it to set up with Swords Dance easier and also allows it to take out Iron Treads, Kingambit, and Choice Band Hisuian Arcanine. Volcarona also benefits from Sticky Web, as it outspeeds faster threats like Greninja and Iron Valiant at -1. Volcarona also benefits from Sticky Web, as it outspeeds faster threats like Greninja and Iron Valiant under Sticky Web. Slither Wing and Lokix both appreciate Sticky Web, as it helps them wallbreak and revenge kill against normally faster threats, such as Gholdengo, Ogerpon-H and Hisuian Arcanine Choice Specs Iron Moth (Araquanid actually takes out moth, Specs Discharge does not ohko and araq ohko moth back with liquidation.). Forretress provides a strong physical wall on Bug teams, and removes entry hazards with Rapid Spin, and is a slow pivot for Araquanid with Volt Switch to ensure its safe entry so it can repeatedly set up Sticky Web.
