ORAS Ubers Straight Offense

This is a pure offense team that I have used for the past 2 weeks with some success.

Arceus @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Multitype
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge
- Shadow Claw
- Earthquake

Arceus is obviously a revenge-killer although it can function as a weak sweeper. The moves give it good coverage but shadow claw sometimes doesn't hit as hard as I'd like it to. Scarf is mainly there to outspeed the fast megas and deoxys.

Salamence @ Salamencite
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Return
- Defog
- Roost
- Dragon Dance

Mega Salamence is a supporter in this team but still hits really hard. Return hits like an friendship boosted anime attack and doesn't recoil like double-edge. A well-timed Dragon Dance can end games but Salamence suffers from a stealth rock weakness. Roost alleviates this somewhat.

Groudon @ Red Orb
Ability: Drought
EVs: 252 Atk / 56 Def / 200 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Precipice Blades
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Thunder Wave

Groudon also helps set up. Considering how two other pokemon on my team carry powerful fire-type moves, I opted not to include a fire-type move on Groudon. I like the extra damage on precipice blades over the perfect accuracy of earthquake. Thunder wave is there to cripple a pokemon.

Kyurem-White @ Choice Specs
Ability: Turboblaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Focus Blast
- Fusion Flare
- Ice Beam

Kyurem-W is my MVP. Coverage allows it to hit almost everything super-effectively. Choice specs puts it from 2HKO to OHKO levels. I love how straight-up powerful the pokemon is.

Xerneas @ Life Orb
Ability: Fairy Aura
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Moonblast
- Aromatherapy
- Thunder
- Focus Blast

Xerneas has a useful typing. I like using Xerneas more for its immunity to dragon over any other factor. Aromatherapy is great since paralysis cripples almost every pokemon on the team. Focus blast is one of the few moves on this team that hits rock super effectively. Thunder is there to hit flying-types mostly.

Ho-Oh @ Life Orb
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 196 Atk / 52 SpD / 12 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Brave Bird
- Sacred Fire
- Recover
- Thunder Wave
Ho-Oh is a great pokemon. The problem is that it hates stealth rock. Brave bird has not come in very useful so far but Ho-Oh's other action options are limited. Sacred Fire is amazing. 50% burn rate wins games.

Please be gentle since this is my first RMT. I admit the team has trouble with rock-types but they are relatively rare in Ubers. I'd like to have more special attackers to avoid getting crippled by burns but none of them seemed to fit. The team also has trouble with Darkrai. My normal response is to bait darkrai into dark voiding Ho-Oh and letting sleep clause take effect.

Hello, for this team I suggest either building an offensive team around Ho-Oh or Kyurem-W, but not both at the same time. They each aren't the easiest things to get to work on offense to begin with and putting them together on an offensive team makes fitting necessary checks and utility later down the road too difficult. Kyurem-W is especially difficult to justify, so I suggest working around Ho-Oh.

Immediately you'll want an offensive spinner so that Stealth Rock can be removed for Ho-Oh. For this role Cloyster fits well, as it can check Mega Salamence, soft check SD Arceus, and anti lead to some extent. This leaves Mega Salamence free to run Earthquake or Refresh (there are some other options as well) since anti-hazard support has been slotted to Cloyster. Change Arceus to Life Orb or Refresh EKiller as a Choice Scarf is not a good choice for a variety of reasons. This team lacks a sleep absorber so either run Choice Scarf Xerneas with Sleep Talk or Ho-Oh with Sleep Talk (the latter makes you weaker against Thunder / Taunt Darkrai however). I'd also suggest running max Speed on your P Don to help a bit against opposing P Don and since you've already got 200+. You can also try using Toxic over Thunder Wave on P Don if your team is struggling to break down threats like Arceus-Water.

Summary:
- Change Kyu-W to Cloyster with Rapid Spin / Shell Smash / Icicle Spear / Explosion and 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe / Adamant / Focus Sash
- Change Defog on Mega Salamence to Earthquake or Refresh
- Change Arceus to Adamant LO EKiller or Refresh EKiller
- Change Xerneas to the Choice Scarf set with Sleep Talk to fix your Darkrai problem
- Take the 56 Defense EVs on Primal Groudon and put 52 of them into Speed
- Consider running Toxic over Thunder Wave on Primal Groudon if defensive Pokemon such as Arceus Water are troublesome

Those changes and optimizations fix most problems, and I'll leave you to explore the Ho-Oh + Excadrill option on your own. Good luck with the team.

Hi, I'm going to have to lock this thread for the time being. According to the RMT rules, you'll need at least 3 lines of description on each of your Pokemon so that raters are able to better understand the team and construct good rates. You can PM me the updated version of the description that complies with the rules and I'll be happy to unlock it so that you can edit it. If you need examples of good RMT, feel free to check out showcased teams . Have a good day :pimp:
