Stunky serves as an effective wallbreaker, using its strong STAB combination to dismantle opposing defensive cores. Being a grounded Poison-type, Stunky also helps teams by clearing Toxic Spikes. Knock Off strips off Eviolite, while Sucker Punch provides a priority option against foes that outspeed Stunky, like Alolan Diglett and a boosted Shellder. Temper Flare is good against Steel-types like Tinkatink, and it is complemented by Gunk Shot, receiving a damage boost if the move misses. Alternatively, Substitute helps Stunky dodge status from foes like Foongus while also allowing it to scout defensive Terastallizations from foes such as Mienfoo. The maximum Speed investment along with a Jolly Nature enables Stunky to outspeed metagame staples like Mienfoo and Chinchou.
