SM OU Sub double dance zygarde and double spikes gren gren lead

Hey everyone I am fairly new to this website and I recently made a team that was pretty successful on ladder so I thought I would share it here to have it improved and find out what others think about it.

Now, without any further ado, let's get right into the team.

The first Mon was Zygarde, as I wanted a team built around it.

Zygarde @ Leftovers
Ability: Aura Break
EVs: 248 HP / 92 Atk / 48 SpD / 120 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Dragon Dance
- Coil
- Thousand Arrows

This Mon has a lot of potential once things like tangrowth are gone, and at +1 defense the substitute can take eq from uninvested lando without breaking.

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Gyro Ball
- Protect

The Phys Def wall. Sets up rocks to help zygarde and some teams get 6-0'd by this ferrous beast.

Greninja @ Focus Sash
Ability: Protean
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Ice Beam

I really wanted this as a lead mostly because I think it's really underrated. Faster than azelf, can taunt and get hazards up. 1 t spike is crucial at times.

Thundurus @ Flyinium Z
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Wild Charge
- Bulk Up
- Superpower
- Fly

I wanted a defiant Mon and I think that bisharp wouldn't fit very well on my team, but now thundurus can somewhat take on the tapu lucha combination.

Now I needed speed control and a rapid spinner, as well as an electric immunity. Excadrill was perfect for this.

Excadrill @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Iron Head

At this moment I desperately needed a special attacker and I still had the mega slot free, so I decided to add mega Gardevoir.

Gardevoir-Mega @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Fire]

Classic set, stab moves and hp fire for coverage, wisp to cripple physical attackers.

As a whole, I am pretty low laddered (tomorrow I also take an exam rip), but I think this team has potential and would love if someone would leave the suggestions they would make.

Hello there. Nice team you got there. I do have a few suggestions however. First, I don't REALLY recommend running a total spikes Greninja set. If you want a spikes user, I would recommend someone like Toxapex or the like. Since Ash Greninja is a thing in the meta at the moment, you should run a ash greninja set like this:

Greninja-Ash @ Choice Specs/ Waterium Z
Ability: Battle Bond
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Dark Pulse
- Water Shuriken
- Spikes/ Ice Beam

On the set, you can still run spikes, which punishes defensive answers the enemy can bring such as Toxapex, Tapu Bulu, and Magearna. Dark Pulse can help with beating enemy pokemon like Pex, Latios, and Ferrothorn. I would change the focus sash gren set to the Ash Greninja set as it's better than regular greninja in most situations. Also, running ice beam can also straight up destroy popular pokemon such as Landorus-T and Latios. And, if you run specs Ash Greninja, it eliminates the point of using Gardevoir- Mega, as you can remove that pokemon for a different pokemon to fill that mega evolution spot. Since overall your team isn't hyper offensive, I would not run a suicide like Greninja set. I know that's it basically mandatory, but an ash gren would help with any counters.

I suggest using Toxapex over Greninja as a toxic spikes user. I personally prefer the poison chance that toxic spikes has over just stacking regular and poison because you can stall the enemy out in order for Zygarde to come in and wreck house. And to be honest, Toxapex is having the time of it's life out there in OU. (Check the viability rankings, dude.) I would replace Gardevoir-Mega. Here's the rundown:

Toxapex @ Black Sludge
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover
- Toxic Spikes/Toxic/Knock Off

Here is thy almighty "The Pex" set. Scald is a great STAB move that can burn Pokemon and eliminate boosts from pokemon like Zard X (Mega Charizard X.) Haze can remove stat boots from no taunt Gyarados, Volcarona, and Charizard X. Recover helps Toxapex's survival. Toxic Spikes helps Toxapex punish switch in's, toxic just poisons the enemy in general, and knock off can be useful for Chansey, but go for Toxic Spikes since it is ESSENTIAL for a Zygarde sweep. Being able to poison the enemy without using toxic is a major help for Zygarde. You can also use the move Baneful Bunker to scout pokemon with choiced items such as Tapu Lele or Tapu Koko, and to punish U-Turn users like Landrous-T, which hate being poisoned.

There are other gripes I have with your team. First off, I recommend changing Thundurus into a mixed attacker set. A mixed attacker set can helps with Pokemon that most struggle it such as Celesteela and Chansey. With a mixed attacker set, you can be sure that it'll still check the KokoLucha set. It will.

Thundurus @ Life Orb
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 68 Atk / 188 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Knock Off
- Superpower
- Hidden Power Ice

Tbolt for STAB. Knock off is used for removing Assault Vests and Eviolites, Superpower helps wreck eviolite Chansey, and Hidden Power Ice helps with taking out Landorus-T. Overall, it's a good set for the team you have.

Another gripe I have is you don't have a way of countering Tapu Bulu, which is one of the biggest counters to Zygarde. I recommend using Heatran to fill in that spot of countering Bulu, as it only really needs to watch out for superpower, which you can switch into Pex to take in anyway. Replace Ferrothorn. I reccommend:

Heatran @ Firium Z/ Earthium Z
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt/Protect

This set can be used as your rocks set. Magma Storm and Earth Power are good attacks, and Magma Storm can trap enemies then use the Firium Z to nuke them if needed. Protect can scout enemies just like Baneful Bunker does. Taunt can be used to stop set up sweepers and Chansey from doing their shenanigans.

So, we have Ash Greninja, Toxapex, Zygarde, Thundurus, and Heatran. Now...the mega Pokemon. I recommend using Mega Medicham. Medicham-Mega has moves like Ice Punch which can cover weaknesses of the team. High Jump Kick and Zen Headbutt are great STAB moves that can punch holes into team weaknesses. Here's the set"

Medicham @ Medichamite
Ability: Telepathy
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Fake Out
- High Jump Kick
- Ice Punch
- Zen Headbutt

So those were my suggestions. Hope you liked it. :3

What is the style of your team?
HO, Offense?

I recommend you do an HO, it is much better since in the title of your post you have greninja lead even.

I removed the Scarf from Excadrill and turned it into Sash to be a second lead when it comes to stamping rocks, personally I like Excadrill better than Landorus-T Explosion but you decide.

Kartana is a very strong problem if you lose Greninja, so add to Magnezone, which is a very consistent Kartana check. Everything else leaves the same because it is correct, I hope you like it :)
