ORAS OU SubCM Giratina-O Suspect Test Offense

I asked around and didn't get a direct answer if I could post a suspect team for a RMT or if I would have to wait until it was done but I'm just going to take a leap of faith and hope it isn't an issue since I didn't see anything about it being a rule. As many of you know or I hope know, Giratina-Origin forme has been the next target of a suspect test only it isn't getting banned. It's getting tested to be in OU. This is naturally my first suspect test, (I got sidetracked with Serperior and MegaGross) but I'm determined to get to the appropriate ranking to vote.

I'm currently sitting at a COIL of 1877 and my previous ascent to the rank of 15 has now greatly declined after some time off and some losses due to lack of sleep. Which is partially why I made this RMT to receive feedback and help on this team, because I figured if I could get to rank 15 and 19 (Ill post proof if necessary but it was only after winning 10 straight matches), this team has some potential.

I think I stated this before but my playstyle is primarily offensive. I tried balance before and it's not my cup of tea, I'm not good at it. I detest stall, facing it and using it as I have no patience. Therefore, this team is mainly considered Hyper Offensive. After some changes, it's more of a semi-Bulky Offense now. I can't get comfortable with anything else but an offensive team but let's get into the team.

The Team

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Stealth Rock

Heatran is my replacement for Shuckle who previously set up Rocks and/or Sticky Web depending on the opposition. After a few rounds, Sticky Web wasn't getting much usage and Talonflame was getting worn down to easy thanks to my neglect of a Defogger/Spinner. To replace Talonflame in a way AND Shuckle, I found Heatran to be a GREAT help to my team. With the Air Balloon, he can safely set Rocks up on opposing Heatran, Garchomp, Skarmory, Ferrothorn and Landorus-T while threatening a SE hit or Burn in the case of Lando and Garchomp. Even Diancie who gets Magic Bounce has to scout for Earth Power and eventually switch, letting me get Rocks up. Taunt helps defeat the slower hazard setters as well as halt set-ups and some stall.

azumarill.gif

Azumarill @ Choice Band
Ability: Huge Power
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 96 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Waterfall
- Play Rough
- Aqua Jet

Azumarill was always a favorite of mine to use in this offensive style, with good resistances and decent bulk to tank a hit and retaliate. Knock Off helps me predict switches and cripple bulky walls that switch in. It also still does heavy damage to Giratina-O despite him not being affected by the boost it gets for getting rid of an item. I honestly click it a lot because I miss Play Rough almost worst then Stone Edge (it feels like). Debating on making this a Belly Drum set and making Bisharp 4x Attacks with Dread Plate.

venusaur-mega.gif

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis

My Mega slot and unintentional third part to my accidental FWG core. Venusaur is a good bulky Pokemon I was using with more speed to work with Sticky Web. Without it, I decided to go for the standard bulky set. Nothing too new here. He checks opposing Azumarill and destroys a lot of switching in Scizors and Ferrothorns with HP Fire. I used to have HP Ground when I had Heatran and Talonflame but I figured I needed more Fire-presence since Talonflame left.

staraptor.gif

Staraptor @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Reckless
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Double-Edge
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- U-turn

Talonflame's main replacement, mainly because he isn't weak to the numerous Water-types and doesn't hold a 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. The Scarf is a semi-replacement for not having Flying-priority but everything is standard otherwise. U-Turn works well for scouting Choice-locked moves and etc so I tend to use that a lot before being confident in plowing through opposition. He also can switch in on Giratina-O Shadow Forces, Sneaks and Shadow Balls to do roughly 50% with Brave Bird.

bisharp.gif

Bisharp @ Lum Berry
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Iron Head
- Sucker Punch
- Swords Dance

My favorite Pokemon to use in OU and with hazards, and I'm probably not the only one. I used to use a mixed HP/Speed spread with Swords Dance and Substitute but after the loss of Web, I went simply for this one. The odd thing here is Pursuit over Knock Off which I am highly considering changing as I was initially worried about Giratina-O who is semi-immune to Knock Off buff. Still, now that I've seen all of them running WoW or just staying in, I realize my efforts to Pursuit trap Lati@s isn't so important.

giratina-origin.gif

Giratina-Origin @ Griseous Orb
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 212 HP / 52 SpA / 244 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Shadow Ball
- Aura Sphere
- Calm Mind
- Substitute

The star of the show. The target of the suspect test and one of the hardest Pokemon to switch into effectively. Instead of running a usual stall Defog/WoW set like 90% of the matches I've seen, I wanted to try SubCM. It's unique and has caught many people off guard. Its very easy to set up, especially on Chansey/Keldeo/Venusaur/Skarmory (nobody is running Whirlwind anymore)/Heatran and many others. I've done many good things and had a few 6-0s with this set, so I'm determined to stick with it.

The EVs are from the BW analysis for HP. However instead of complete bulk, I put 244 in Speed to outspeed threats like MAltaria before it Dances, opposing Giratina's and other things. The rest went into SpAtk to score some good hits without any Calm Minds, none that I can think of but it's done good things for some things. Ghost/Fighting is GREAT coverage, only resisted by Normal/Flying and Normal/Fairy which there aren't a lot in OU.

Edit- Aura Sphere hits them neutrally. A better thing to say would be that he won't doing as much damage to those types without some boosts.

Coverages
The team's defensive coverages work extremely well I think. Despite lacking a hazard remover which I know everyone is going to recommend, I don't want to show any means of losing momentum and also want to give people the impression my Giratina has Defog. I have a FWG core and a DFS core present in the team, not on purpose but it just happened to go through. I used the TeamMagma teambuilder and there are no clear weaknesses so I think typing's go over well.

I hope I didn't waste my time typing this but that's the team. I understand Giratina-O can be banned to Ubers when the suspect results drop but in that event, I will simply replace him with....Gengar or another option and re-comment in this thread for ideas. Thanks for reading and please provide criticism and ideas, if it's fine as is or needs work.

Have you tried CM/Rest/Sleep Talk/Shadow Ball Giratina? Yes, you are walled by normal types, but once you get rid of the theoretical opposing chansey, not much stops it.
Obviously it is a bit early to predict the best Giratina set, and there may never be as tomorrow is April 1st. Also, you may want to consider Talonflame > Starraptor, as you can forego a Scarf, and spam Choice BANDED Brave Birds from something guaranteed to go first.

Talonflame @ Choice Band
252 Attack/4 Defense/252 Speed
Flare Blitz
U-Turn
Brave Bird
Tailwind

I think you might've missed the mention Ryfi110 but I was using Talonflame for a while. The many Slowbros/Rotom-Ws and Keldeos made switching in difficult along with the 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. Honestly Staraptor has been doing good things for me. He takes Shadow Balls/Forces/Sneaks from opposing Giratina-O as well as getting the Fighting-coverage that Talonflame lacks as well for Heatran as a strong Double-Edge that Rotom-W and Slowbro cannot stop.

RestTalk Giratina has been in the back of my mind for some time now and I've been thinking about it. The SubCM set can beat Chansey in the PP Stall if there is nothing to switch into (like Unaware Clefable someone did that to me and neutralized my +6 and I had nothing). Another concern is Mega-Lopunny which my current Giratina can tank an HJK/Whatever and beast on with Aura Sphere. Last but not least is Diggersby and the rare Staraptors, Audinos and Wigglytuffs people are trying to get by with.

Basically if I run RestTalk, ill have to be extra careful with preserving Azumarill, Venusaur and my own Staraptor for those normal threats. Quick question, would I keep the same spread or do you have an alternate?

That's what I get for doing these 10 minutes after I wake up!

It depends on what you were using it to counter already. One possibility is:

248 HP/252 Defense/8 Special Attack. You can use Shadow Ball < Dragon Pulse if you feel your problem does not lie in fairies.

I think Shadow Ball provides better coverage. Nothing is immune to it except Normal types which are scarce in OU. Dragon Pulse would have issues with the mandatory Steel and Fairy types every team has. And I don't want to rely on Bisharp and Venusaur all the time seeing as how there are some Fairies and Steels they can't beat.
