This is my current team, have tweaked it around for a while now but this seems to be working relatively consistently. Just looking for any way to make it any better. Thanks in advance guys.
Galvantula Focus sash
(Male) Compound Eyes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Sp.A / 252 Spd
Nature: Timid (+Spd / -Att)
Moveset:
Sticky Web
Bug Buzz
Thunder
Energy Ball
Simple lead Pokemon. The single reason this is on my team is for the Sticky Web support, which allows my other offensive members to have an easier time. The basis of my offensive lineup is centralized around Sticky Web being active. The rest of it's moves are simply there to hit whatever it faces for super effective or, hopefully, neutral damage with decent power.
Jellicent Leftovers
(Male) Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Sp.A / 252 Sp.D
Nature: Calm (+Sp.D / -Att)
Moveset:
Scald
Will-o-wisp
Recover
Hex
Jellicent is my special wall and can generally tank hits for days. It is decent at taking a physical hit if need be then burning the physical threat and recovering off damage. Not so sure about having scald and will-o-wisp on the same set, but it seemed more reliable and I did run into problems when using toxic/scald, my be just unfortunate opposing team comps though. I find it has good synergy with my physical wall, Gliscor, easily being able to switch between to the two to cover any of their main weaknesses with Gliscor's immunity to electric attacks and Jellicent being able to heal off incoming water attacks aimed at Gliscor.
Gliscor Toxic Orb
(Female) Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def / 4 Sp.D
Nature: Impish (+Def / -Sp.A)
Moveset:
Earthquake
Knock-off
Roost
Toxic
Gliscor is my physical wall and is great at it. I used to run a more stall-y set with Protect/
Substitute/Toxic/Earthquake, but changed it due to feeling dirty when I used it, combined with a serious inability to deal with Skarmory. I put Knock-off in the set because it just has such a big impact and Gliscor often forces free knock-off's when switched into something it counters, basically leaving them no option but to switch out. As I stated with Jellicent, switch effectively with Jellicent if the water type move is apparently obvious and leave the team in a better overall place with increased momentum.
Hydreigon Choice Specs
(Female) Levitate
EVs: 252 Sp.A / 4 Sp.D / 252 Spd
Nature: Modest (+Sp.A / -Att)
Moveset:
Draco Meteor
Fire Blast
Focus Blast
Dark Pulse
Hydreigon is obviously my special sweeper/ hit-and-runner. Draco Meteor's STAB, plus Specs, is simply obnoxious damage and leaves a huge dent, if not killing, almost anything. Fire Blast and Focus Blast are coverage moves and coupled with their high base power and Hydriegon's special attack stat, do thier job well, when they hit. Dark Pulse is also there for STAB/coverage and deals with psychic pokemon with ease. I used to run a Protean Greninja in it's place but found this set more entertaining due to the prediction factor that comes with a choice item. With base 98 speed it's far from slow, but the sticky web from Galvantula is greatly appreciated, helping it sweep with greater ease.
Darmanitan Life Orb
(Male) Sheer Force
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Att / 252 Spd
Nature: Adamant (+Att / -Sp.A)
Moveset:
Flare Blitz
Superpower
Rock Slide
U-turn
The appeal of Darmanitan is obvious with a ridiculous base 140 attack stat and is the most recent addition to the team. I was previously running a Mega-Medicham but after a running some calculations, I arrived to the conclusion that Darmanitan was marginally stronger with the Sheer Force/Life Orb combo (please correct me if I'm wrong). Flare Blitz is a necessity with this sort of power and hits like a fully loaded semi-trailer. Superpower is there for coverage as well as it's almost equally huge power. Rock slide is there for coverage and amazingly cleans up things like Talonflame and Charizard Y with ease. U-turn is there to provide a small amount of extra coverage and the option to switch out, perhaps after the stat drops of a superpower or in any other situation that I believe Darmanitan will outspeed. Likewise with the Hydreigon, sticky web support is a massive help and pretty much the bread and butter of this team's ability to sweep.
Scizor Scizorite
(Male) Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Att / 4 Sp.D
Nature: Adamant (+Att / -Sp.A)
Moveset:
Swords Dance
U-turn
Bullet Punch
Brick Break/Pursuit
Scizor is my mega and is simply one of the most solidly consistent pokemon I have ever used. Switching it into something that can't hurt it effectively is the most effective strategy I find as Scizor pre-mega is still well able to take a hit with relative ease, allowing a free swords dance. At +2, Scizor's Bullet Punch becomes one of the scariest moves in the game in my opinion, after STAB and Technician, becoming a base 90 power priority move that hits 14 of the 18 types for neutral or super effective damage. Sticky web does benefit Scizor, but it's not there to specifically assist it, being able to handle itself extremely capably without the support. U-turn also doesn't from Technician boost but still is effective for STAB and keeping momentum/gaining initiative. I am unsure whether to run Brick Break or Pursuit as my final move in the set and have even been tossing up roost as an option.
Thank you all for taking the time to read over my team and provide your evaluation. I am open to all suggestions which aren't massively troll and feel free to ask questions about anything I may have left off here. Thanks again all
