Suicide-Sweep Team

Quick Intro:
I've been using this team for quite a while now. We've come to an agreement, this offensive team and I. We're almost like best buddies. I care for it, and it gives me wins. Usually. A healthy relationship, I think. :P

So, here it is, and in all of its unpredictable-ness and glory.

Fire Hydrant (Politoed) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Drizzle
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Surf
- Focus Blast
- Hypnosis

Yes. Politoed as a suicide lead. I see this set, more or less, on Smogon, and yet nobody ever expects it. Too often has my Politoed been Taunted, only for it to retaliate with a STABbed, Choiced, Drizzled Hydro Pump. I chose Politoed as my usual lead mainly because of it's monstrous damage. This thing hits like a TRUCK. Example. Surf can one-shot Magnezone. With Hydro Pump, things like Togekiss, Lucario-Mega, Mandibuzz, and even Porygon2 can say bye-bye. Politoed also has respectable bulk. It can take 2, sometimes 3, Volt Switches from Rotom-W, 4-5 Thunderbolts from Starmie, and even a Wild Charge from Arcanine. My only qualm about Politoed is the "Hydro Miss". 80% accuracy? Yeah, right.

Mr. Wiggles (Sylveon) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Hyper Beam

Truck number two. Never expected, even less so than Politoed. This thing is a magnet for Taunts, Toxic, Will O' Wisps. And, it then proceeds to NUKE with Hyper Voice. Yes, I do realize that I only have two moves. Normally, I only have those two moves, but you can, of course, use others for some coverage. I choose Sylveon for two main reasons. One, as a dragonslayer, and two, for the same reason as Politoed. I say again, it NUKES, while also being able to switch in to special attacks. What Hyper Voice can't take care of, Hyper Beam, STABbed, Choiced, and Pixellated, does. I haven't paid quite as much attention as I have to Sylveon compared to Politoed, but I do remember the following: With Hyper Voice, any Subsituting Poke gets trucked. I believe I've OHKO Espeon before with Hyper Voice. Hyper Voice also typically 2HKOs most non-Steel types, and even most Fire types. The nuke, Hyper Beam, has OHKOed Porygon2, Lucario-Mega, Charizard-Mega, and did about 90% on a Scizor-Mega, and did a 65% on a Aegislash in the defensive stance.

Bob (Greninja) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Protean
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Dark Pulse
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Grass Knot

Here's my mid-game/late-game sweeper. Fast, and it packs quite a punch. I'll explain the move set I chose: Dark Pulse, to counter Aegislash (2HKO), Hydro Pump, for a good STAB move. Can take down Charizard-Mega. Ice Beam, takes down Dragonite (Usually 2HKO, I've seen one OHKO, with Multiscale INTACT), takes down Garchomp, if it isn't Scarfed. Grass Knot is the key, however. I've lost count the number of times when Grass Knot one-shotted another Greninja. It also destroys Gastrodons. Now, I know most of my friends prefer to use Life Orb, but, seeing as the wide coverage will most likely land super-effectives, I chose the Expert Belt. Less recoil, more sweeping!

Kamikaze (Talonflame) @ Choice Band
Ability: Gale Wings
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Roost
- Acrobatics
- Brave Bird

Talonflame isn't just my early game sweeper. I also sometimes use it for revenge killing. It's also my only priority user, so, I try to make the best out of the 4-5 moves it usually lasts for. Like it's nickname suggests, all I do is spam the Brave Bird button. Despite the crippling weakness this bird has to Stealth Rock, I do occasionally allow it to take the 50%, and try to get one Poke down before fainting. Talonflame's role is very simple on my team. Kill as many as it can before dying itself. There's really nothing else I can say. :P Oh, there is. I never use Roost or Acrobatics.

Ice Shard Me (Garchomp) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Outrage
- Fire Fang
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge

Garchomp: My main revenge killer. Other dragons quake in fear of its ridiculous speed, and even fairies get a good taste of Earthquake. Outrage is the main STAB, obviously. Hits hard. Fire Fang is for Steel types with Levitate, though I rarely ever use this. EarthEdge is for coverage, as well as a good STAB, in Earthquake's case. Stone Edge, I rarely use, unless Togekiss is swapped in, and I correctly anticipate it. Otherwise, I'm forced to switch out, due to the Scarf. The aforementioned Scarf, however, is worth it. An example: I see Jolteon, so obviously running HP Ice, outsped every time.

Gandhi (Alakazam) @ Alakazite
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
- Psyshock
- Psychic
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball

This perhaps is the only Poke I'm not sure about. I've experimented in replacing this old geezer with Aegislash, but am sillt not sure. Anyways. Alakazam is good as a sweeper, especially late in the game. I run both Psyshock and Psychic, to avoid being walled. This guy simply CANNOT go up against a wall, he's more fragile than wet tissue. Dazzling Gleam, to take care of pesky Dark types, and Shadow Ball, for Ghosts and other Psychics. That's about it. He doesn't really have a specific role in the team, so comments for this guy would be nice. However, this guy dies to Sucker Punches, even when unboosted, and gets owned by Scizor, Mega or no Mega.

THREATS:

- Politoed and Sylveon, if faced with Ferrothorn when leading, become absolutely useless.
- Venusaur-Mega can sometimes be a problem, especially if my rain from Politoed is still up.
- Despite my best efforts, Togekiss can be a bane for my team, especially when the Paralysis stacks up.
- Breloom. It outspeeds both of my leads, rendering at least one useless, and will always get a free turn to set up when I switch out.
- Boosted Mawile-Mega and Boosted Bisharp can be a bit scary. My only "counter" to them is Talonflame, and that's not really a counter at all. I usually have to rely on one-shotting them before they can Boost, or they will unleash havoc with Sucker Punches.
- A highly defensive team, can, of course, also slowly chip away at my entire team.

After some experiments, I have come up with a worthy replacement for Alakazam: Dragonite, with Weakness Policy.

149.png

Fatass (Dragonite) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 100 HP / 252 Atk / 156 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake

Yes, this team no longer runs a Mega. It really doesn't need one, though. This is your standard Weakness Policy set, but with a couple twists. I opted out of some speed, for more bulk. Even with Multiscale, better safe than sorry. I also shifted the EVs to Attack. It's now at a monstrous 403. Extreme Speed now takes off some pressure from my Talonflame, and I now have two priority users. Also hits fairies. Dragon Dance, of course. I use it in combination with Weakness Policy. Dragon Claw, for a massive STAB. Now, for Earthquake. Odd, right? But it does take out Steel types without a worry. I didn't choose Roost, because once this guy is set up, NOTHING takes it down. Except maybe for Toxic, but then half the opponent's team will be in shambles by then. Stealth Rock now poses a bigger problem for this team, but really, this Poke is WORTH IT.

Nice! Hyper-Offense! I'm getting so sick of seeing bulky offense teams here and on wi-fi!

However:

Your team looks weak to aggressive volt-turn teams. The reason is that everything on your team barring Dragonite and Greninja is locked-in on one move from the get-go. An opponent who is always switching and damaging you from the shuffle will easily pull ahead. No contest.

As a whole it looks like you went out to create a Hyper-Offensive team by jacking up the damage without regards to any strategy. It doesn't take too much work to outdo your entire Choice team through some clever prediction and double-switching.

I really like your concept, but I want to point out a few nitpicks before I offer suggestions.

Nitpicks:
-Surf and Hydro Pump on Politoed is redundant. Your team is Hyper-Offense, if you don't get at least one KO in the first three turns, you are already behind. Do not worry about running out of PP, just get some pp-ups on there. Choose one.

-Hyper Voice and Hyper Beam? Also redundant. Choose one. Make it Hyper Voice. Yeah, you will be loosing a lot of power, but that mandatory recharge turn is where I foresee Sylveon dying all the time. Or worse--an opponent swaps in a set-up sweeper like Swords Dance MegaMaw or Automatize Aegislash and wipes you out.

-You have no rapid-spin or defog support and you're running choice-band Talonflame. If your foe gets rocks on the field, talonflame is basically dead. You switch-in to Talonflame, take 50% of your health, and roost, but then you are locked-in to roost, so you switch out and take 50% when you come back in again. Get rid of the choice band and run Life Orb.

-Also, Acrobatics and Brave Bird are redundant...I'm sensing a pattern.

Your Hyper-Offense team seems to be a bunch of mismatched parts, frankensteined together. Your first assignment is to find a goal for your team. Hyper-Offense with a late-game Dragonite sweep? Get the early lead? After you figure this out, find out which pokemon are the most threatening to you and figure out how to deal with them.

You most certainly have the tools to run Hyper-Offense. You just need a little more direction.

Oh, man, what a late reply, but I'll try to explain my reasoning behind the "redunant" moves.

I have both Surf and Hydro Pump because: I use Surf for fragile leads/other Pokes, like Gengar, Scolipede, Deoxys-S, etc. Hydro Pump is if I know Surf will not 2HKO, and I'm willing to let it miss. (Espeon, etc.)

Hyper Voice, is, yes, then main attack, but I will use Hyper Beam sometimes to anticipate a switch. 60-70% Excadrill falls in one shot to Hyper Beam, as well as a Scizor, so it does surprise the opponent.

Acrobatics, Brave Bird... yeah, I got nothing for that one. :P

Change acrobatics for uturn for heaven's sake! Love the slyveon set, LOl but it's not very effective most of the time as it gives a free switch-in to fire/steel/posion types and with prior damage genesect and talonflame could sweep your team. Politoed can be switched to more offensive mons like keldeo and besides no need for two water types in one team. And how about mega lucario or mega char(if you switch your politoed out) for your mega? Even mega pinsir could work as it resists sucker punch and has a bit of bulk and power
