After getting destroyed a few too many times by weather teams, I decided to make my own team based on ZardY and some basic sand offense. I will try to discuss some of the basic strategy/synergy of this team later on.
This team features some fairly standard mons, with zard Y, and a standard duo of excadrill + ttar. This team can be hard to overcome if played right due to the balance of offense decent pivots. On the plus side it also hard counters rain teams with the dual weather inducers.
This team is very easy to use and tears through the lower ladder, and is in general a good team for players of all skill. At its core, it takes little prediction, using excadrill and zardY to weaken the opponents for a clean up with loom or gyarados. However, due to it HO style, it requires judgement calls on when to make sacs, and when to preserve a mon. My preferred lead is zardY as getting the mega off is important, and it counters many leads pretty well. The biggest threat to this team is actually other HO as bulky mega scizor can be a threat. The team doesn't like dealing with setup mons in general, although many of the common ones are handled pretty well. Mixed hoopa makes a good stallbreaker, as can gyarados and zardY. Overall this team is one that is easy and fun to pickup and use.
PS: I don't plan on changing any of the team members, unless you come up with something brilliant. I will definitely consider changing the sets though if someone thinks of something better. Of course you can feel free to take the pastebin and edit it whichever way you feel.

Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 40 HP / 252 SpA / 216 Spe
Modest Nature
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost
Zard Y has massive raw power, OHKO'ing or 2HKO'ing a large percentage of the meta. Fire blast is for maximum power and wallbreaking potential. Solarbeam is for those pesky waters like slowbro and rotom-w and keldeo to an extent. Focus Blast allows me to hit ttar and heatran. Roost is to shrug off weaker water attacks and increase longevity. 216 speed is to outspeed neutral base 95's like kyurem, with the remaining in hp for max bulk.

Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 SpD
Brave Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
- Stone Edge
Great sand user, as well as my stealth rocker. Ice beam is for maximum damage on tankchomp and lando-T. Pursuit to trap lati's and gengar if it doesn't have focus blast. Stone edge hits all flying types, especially tflame, as ttar is my main switch in. Not really sure what I should use for an ev spread, so leave suggestions please.

Excadrill @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Iron Head
- Rapid Spin
Excadrill is my sand sweeper. Im running a standard ev spread for sand rush driller. Eq and Iron are for STAB, while rock slide is so I don't get walled by zapdos and the likes. Rapid Spin is hazard control. I'm still undecided between LO and Air Balloon, so I'll keep testing. Air balloon helps me against opposing sand teams, even though I am not particularly weak to ground.

Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Swords Dance
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed
After building this core, I decided I wanted a good revenge killer, and a water resist. Although breloom isn't the ideal water resist, its raw power and typing are a great benefit to the team. Spore and SD for a setup on the switch combo. Mach Punch is for STAB and gets the technician boost as well as being the only priority on the team. Bullet seed hits water types and gets the tech boost. Considering im running sand, I decide on life orb over sash as +2 mach punch OHKO's keldeo after a few rocks.

Hoopa-Unbound @ Assault Vest
Ability: Magician
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Psychic
- Fire Punch
- Knock Off
- Hidden Power [Ice]
I chose AV hoopa so I would be able to switch in on special moves if i didn't want ttar weakened. Fire Punch is for ferro and has synergy with the sun. Knock off > Hyperspace Fury to get rid of items. Psychic is STAB and hits most of the physical walls hard. HP Ice is for any garchomp that thinks it can switch in. Mixed Hoopa usually manages to net a kill or too, as it eats up quite a few special hits.

Gyarados @ Leftovers
Ability: Moxie/Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Bounce
- Substitute
After a lot of testing, I decided on gyara. Provides me with another resist to water and ground, as my team doesn't have too many issues with rotom-w anyways. Dragon Dance to make it a threat. Waterfall is my main attack, but bounce hits ferrothorn harder and is also STAB. Substitute allows me to set up on weaker attackers, or dodge pesky status moves from rotom or clef or slowbro. Still not decided between intimidate or moxie so I would appreciate the suggestions. Jolly nature to outspeed lopunny and manectric after a dd.
