(This was for Reg D but I really want to build my own team and I need help to see if its good or not. I’ll still use it in reg e although.)
Hello! I recently wanted to build my very own sun team and I think I did very well, but I need some suggestions like what Pokemon to change, moves to change, etc.
So, lets get started:
Torkoal (F) @ Heat Rock
Ability: Drought
Level: 50
Tera Type: Water
EVs: 252 HP / 100 Def / 24 SpA / 132 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heat Wave
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Yawn
Torkoal is gonna act like a support. Yawn + Stealth Rock is a very nice combo, which can make a Pokemon forced to be switched out and take some minor damage. I like running heat rock that way the sun can be boosted up to 8 turns instead the unusual 5. I did terra water because of a trend of Urshifu-R & Tornadus, I did this so Torkoal can live a surging strikes and that move will be even weaker due to the sun. I see more people running Overheat but I instead run, Heat Wave. I don't wanna risk that SpA drop because Torkoal is a support and can maybe hit hard due to the 24 extra EVs
Great Tusk @ Assault Vest
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Headlong Rush
- Close Combat
- Ice Spinner
- Knock Off
One of my top 10 favorites, Great Tusk is simple to explain. A Bulky-Fast-Attacker. Tera Steel to deal with restiences. I like running Ice Spinner because once Miriadion gets unbanned or if Tapu Koko returns, I think Electric terrain teams can possibly be a huge threat because of Iron Bundle, I also like running it because its a strong ice type move to hit Landorus-T, Tornadus, Garchomp, and etc. Knock Off is a decent dark type attack which drops the targets item. (Also GT can also do well without the sun just having 183 in its Atk & 152 in its Spe ingame.)
Charizard (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Solar Power
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fire
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Heat Wave
- Air Slash
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
We have the OG himself Charizard. I use choice scarf so It can have at least 300+ Speed stat (according to my calculations). Charizard here basically is gonna sweep with Heat Wave in tera fire form. With all of those boosts it can deal HUGE damage under the sun. I'm also using an unexpected move; Solar Beam (People don't use it for some odd reason) . It's really just to deal with all of T-Fire Charizard weakness. When I did some testing, Charizard ohko'd a popular duo, Indeedee & Armorouge. (Also, I only activate this move during sun)
Tornadus @ Mental Herb
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ghost
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 116 SpA / 116 SpD / 20 Spe
Timid Nature
- Bleakwind Storm
- Tailwind
- Taunt
- Sunny Day
Tornadus here is another support Pokemon for the team. Basically it is the same set but without rain dance. I did Mental Herb instead of clover cloak because 100% an opposing Tornadus will attempt to use Taunt on it. Move set same thing as Urshifu-R + Tornadus except instead of rain dance I replaced it with sunny day. (I also used sunny day just in case the sun goes down and if Torkol fainted.) Tera Ghost because it's a common tera type for it.
Lilligant-Hisui @ Focus Sash
Ability: Chlorophyll
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fighting
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Solar Blade
- After You
- Sleep Powder
Lilligant is gonna be a very fast hard-hitting attacker. Tera Fighting to boost that Close Combat. Solar Blade same explanation as Charizard's Solar Beam. I also did After You to make torkol go first and use her support moves (sometimes). I also had to run the Focus Slash because she is a glass cannon.
Flutter Mane @ Booster Energy
Ability: Protosynthesis
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 100 HP / 172 Def / 36 SpA / 4 SpD / 196 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Dazzling Gleam
- Shadow Ball
- Sunny Day
- Protect
Flutter Mane is going to be one of the Pokemon here who doesn't need the sun at all (I'm running sunny day just in case) . I used a Booster Energy so it can still be boosted after the sun is gone. Evs makes it a bulky hard hitter (Its SpA ingame is 176 so I don't really needs SpA ev a lot.). For the Speed Evs I'm not sure if I should ever lower it so I can put more Evs on a specific stat (Would like a suggestion for this one). Terra Fairy so I can do a bit sweeping while the sun lasts and can deal with Urshifu-R.
In conclusion I actually think I made a very decent team. Obviously when my boy Groudon or Koridion gets unbanned, I will be replacing Torkol with it. Now that I'm done explaining I would like some suggestions or maybe feedback for changes for Pokemon, Moves, Natures, etc. Thanks
