Sun Team

38.png

Ninetails @ Focus Sash
Timid Nature
Ability: Drought
EVs: 4hp/252Satk/252spd
-Hypnosis
-Nasty Plot
-Fire Blast
-Solarbeam

Ninetails's main purpose is to set up sunlight via Drought. However, it can also sweep thanks to two set up moves in Hypnosis and Nasty Plot. Fire Blast and Solarbeam provide good coverage.

Salamence @ Dragon Fang
Naive
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252atk/4Satk/252spd
-Dragon Dance
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Fire Blast
The classic DD Mence is up to its old tricks. If it can, it'll set up Dragon Dance, and proceed to wreck stuff. Earthquake has amazing neutral coverage when combined with Outrage. Fire Blast covers what Earthquake doesn't

Venusaur @ Leftovers
Jolly
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 4hp/252atk/252spd
-Solarbeam
-Sleep Powder
-Growth
-Hidden Power [fire]
With its double speed and sleep powder, Venasaur has the potential to set up (via growth) and sweep. Earthquake provides good coverage when combined with Seed Bomb, and means steels won't wall it. Stuff like Skarmory and Ferrothorn may prove problematic.

Arcanine @ Leftovers
Adament
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 100hp/152atk/252spd
-Morning Sun
-Flare Blitz
-Wild Charge
-Close Combat
Despite the constant recoil from Flare Blitz, its 100 hp evs, Leftovers, and Morning sun (boosted by the sunlight) help keep it alive. Wild Charge is for waters.

490.png

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Naive
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 4atk/252Satk/252spd
-Flame Charge
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Dragon Pulse
Heatran speeds up with Flame Charge, and then sweeps. With flash fire, not only is it immune to fire moves, but they make its already powerful fire blast even stronger. The Air Balloon keeps it safe from ground moves.

94.png

Gengar @ Leftovers
Timid
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4hp/252Satk/252spd
-Substitute
-Disable
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
Uses substitute and disable to attempt to rid of the foe's best move against it, and sweeps with Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball. Ferrothorn can cause issues, as can Excadrill, but there are plenty of Pokemon on my team that can deal with those.

Threat list:
-Weather changers are obviously an issue.
-A baton pass team pwned me.
-I suppose Scarftran could be an issue.

Any help is appreciated.

give your salamence fire fang instead of fire blast, since he's a physical fighter and its boosted in the sun and by dragon dance, and maybe consider giving Gengar Thunderbolt if you had trouble with a Gyarados

I think I'll keep Fire Blast. Gyarados didn't give me issues this time around, but I'll consider Thunderbolt if they start to on a regular basis, thanks for the input.

ya that way if salamence encounters a physical wall he can use fire blast to be a pseudo mixed sweeper(if youre going to do this i recommend you give it a couple more spA evs to increase damge when youre using fire blast. just a thought).

I agree with you on keeping fire blast on Salamence as it is good to have a mixed sweeper, however i think giving Gengar T-Bolt would help tremendously it would help with coverage in general as you can now take on bulky waters that resist grass moves like tentacruel and Empoleon. This would also make the task of KOing a DDing gyaradoes much easier. Focus blast just has too shakey accuracy and giving Gengar T-bolt over this should prove to be helpful.

Two obvious problems:
On Venusaur, use Grass knot over solar beam, you really don't want a Tyranitar come in, change weather and thus either outspeed you or survive the now weaker solarbeam, and kill you. On the topic of Venusaur perhaps you can consider a physical one instead of special and use seed bomb and Earthquake over Hidden power and Grass knot

On Arcanine use Wild Bolt, the new stronger electric move it has over the weak thunder fangs. And don't forget it also get close combat this generation, that can help you deal with Tyranitar

Ou need a spinner since half your team is SR weak. I suggest Donphan since the sun helps his water weakness.

Donphan @ leftovers
Trait: sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk or Def / 4 Spe
Nature: Adamant or Bold depending on EV selection
-Rapid Spin
-Stealth Rock
-Earthquake
-Ice Shard
