I've been working on this team for a while, and there are some restrictions on what I can use. The group that I play with IRL doesn't allow legendaries of any kind, so things like Landorus and Keldeo are not options. I can technically use things like Aegislash, MegaKahn, Speed Boost Blaziken, etc, but haven't so I can practice on Showdown.
Tyranitar @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpA
Naughty Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rock Slide
- Ice Beam
- Pursuit
Tyranitar is my sand setter, stealth rock setter, and pursuit trapper. EVs are for a mix of bulk and offensive presence. Considering opting for more bulk than offensive presence. Opted for Ice Beam to hit dragons, ground, and flying types hard.
Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Iron Head
Scarfchomp is my revenge killer and early/mid-game sweeper. Scarfchomp is just so good. Pretty standard coverage. Dragon Claw over Outrage to prevent getting locked. Iron Head because I can't get it on Excadrill currently.
Excadrill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head / Rockslide (only on 3ds)
- Rapid Spin
- X-Scissor / Poison Jab
I had been using Air Balloon on Excadrill, but saw a bunch of people were praising AV Drill. Gave him a try, and love it. On my 3ds, I don't have access to Iron Head atm, as I have a 5 iv on X, don't want to spend time trying to breed one on B2 and tutor it, esp with ORAS likely having tutors. For now it has Rockslide and Poison Jab to hit fairies hard. Sand rush to abuse sand.
Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- U-Turn
- Aerial Ace
- Brick Break
CB Scizor hits SO HARD. Bullet Punch messes up pretty much everything that doesn't resist, and even then still takes a HUGE chunk. U-Turn for momentum, Aerial Ace gives me options against Mega Venusaur. Brick break could be Pursuit, or ideally would be Super Power, but again, don't want to have to breed a new Scizor in B2.
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Flamethrower
- Solar Beam
- Dragon Pulse
- Roost
Pretty standard MegaZardY. Dragon Pulse over Focus Blast because Heatran's not a think in my IRL meta, but dragons (D-Nite, Garchomp, MegaZardX, Hydreigon, etc) are. Flamethrower over Fireblast for consistency and PP.
Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 240 HP / 252 SpA / 16 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Volt Switch
- Will-O-Wisp
- Protect
Rotom-W is my answer to ground, water, and flying types. Counters TFlame (though so does T-Tar and Chomp). Opted for again, max bulk and offensive presence, keeping with theme of team. Again, don't have access to tutor moves, so Pain Split isn't an option. Protect is for scouting and extra leftovers recovery. Otherwise very standard.
I would like to keep Charizard on this team, but am open to switching to CharX. Otherwise pretty open to switching out teammates.
