Super fly choice item abusing OU RMT

Gyarados@Choice Scarf
Intimidate
Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Def)
252 Atk / 24 Def / 252 Spd
-Waterfall
-Ice Fang
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake

Gyarados is one of the best anti-leads in the game, and maybe even the best. However, there are some leads that Gyarados cannot kill so if anyone has a suggestion for a lead with more attack, or special attack that would be great.

Azelf@Focus Sash
Levitate
Naïve (+Spd, -Sp.Def)
40 Atk / 252 Spd / 216 / Sp.Atk
-Stealth Rock
-Psychic
-Flamethrower / Fire Blast
-Explosion

I use Azelf to lay down Stealth Rock after Gyarados kills the opposing lead. Focus Sash to withstand the first hit, and maxed out speed because I don’t know what Pokémon can outrun it outside of lead Pokémon. The moves are there for obvious reasons, Flamethrower in particular, because I need it for Scizor. I’ve considered changing items and EV’s, but I don’t know what item to change to, and for the EV’s I’m not sure what can outrun it other than certain leads. Or if anyone has an alternate to Azelf that would be nice, however if it’s a defensive Pokémon, I probably won’t use it, because the main thing that’s made this team good so far is how everything is an attacking Pokémon.

Lucario@Life Orb
Inner Focus
Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Def)
4HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
-Swords Dance
-Close Combat
-Extreme Speed
-Crunch / Bullet Punch

One of my favorite Pokémon, Lucario is one of my physical sweepers, and possibly my favorite. After one Swords Dance with Stealth Rock damage Lucario gets so many OHKO’s. Other than that he really doesn’t need that much description, so I think I’ll leave it at that.

Gengar@Choice Scarf
Levitate
Rash (+Sp.Atk, -Sp.Def)
4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Sp.Atk
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Focus Blast
-Hidden Power (Fire)

What? Choice Scarf, Gengar’s already got enough speed. Not necessarily, Gengar is outrun by a few things, but not with a scarf on, plus this way I can max out his attack by giving him a rash nature. Also you’re probably wondering why I have HP fire, when I already have focus blast, well it’s because I hate Scizor, and he’s on about 30% of all shoddy battle teams so that’s why I have HP fire. The rest of his moves are self explanatory.

Infernape@Choice Scarf
Blaze
Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 Spd
-Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Focus Blast
- Grass Knot
-Hidden Power (Ice)

Yea I have three scarfer’s on my team I find speed extremely important when using an attack team. I have been using Life Orb Infernape in the past, but mixed Pokémon haven’t been working for me, so I’ve decided that maybe concentrating the EV arrangement might help, and it has. It’s gotten me a lot more OHKO’s, but Focus Blast’s inaccuracy has cost me my only loss with this team, so I’m thinking that I might go with a physical Infernape at the cost of my third special sweeper. Also I’m thinking of giving it a rash nature, because it has a scarf, but I’m not sure if I’ll still outrun everything I need to without a timid nature.

Mamoswine@Choice Band
Oblivious
Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Def)
4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Superpower

Late game this thing is unstoppable, with a choice band and Ice Shard it picks off anything that doesn’t resist it. It has saved me from a few losses, and its great HP adds to its survivability, which really comes in handy when it’s my only Pokémon left. At first I had Weavile in this spot, but I realized Mamoswine had higher Atk, and they both have Ice Shard, so I went with Mamoswine.

I realize that I have 4 choice items, and I admit that it makes walling easier, but so far the choice items have helped a lot. But I’m still open to item recommendations, because I could use some versatility in my attacks. So far this team is 10-1, and it’s mainly because of the core of my team (everything except for Gyarados and Azelf) so I’m planning on keeping the same core Pokémon, just that I could use some help with sets, EV’s, natures, etc… Oh and I’m thinking about changing Mamoswine for Weavile, but so far there really isn’t any reasons I can think of to do that.

Thank you in advance for all help.

However rudely and bluntly he puts it, the guy above is right. (EDIT - his post has been deleted with good reason) Focus sash should never be used outside of the lead position due to SR. Put azelf in the lead position, and replace either you fire move or Psychic with Taunt to prevent an SR setup from other leads.

Having too many choice users forces you to switch a lot, relies too heavily on prediction, and allows sweepers to set up. It is not really viable as the theme for a team. I would keep Gengar and Mamoswine as the choice users, and take the choice items off everyone else.

I disagree somewhat. Even an all choiced team can be extremely effective in the right hands, but that's the thing, you have to have exceptional prediction skills to use one. That however is up to the user to decide if they have the ability to make the most use out of choiced pokemon

Other than that I dont have too much to say about the team except that if you did swap mamoswine for weavile it might make it easier for Lucario to sweep since he could take care of gengar, latias, starmie and of course rotom.

These are the edits I've made based on multiple website's RMT's:

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Using this team I've gone 2-3 and one of the wins was due to some guy rage quitting after I killed his Jolteon, the original version of this team is currently 13-1. I'm going to try replacing Mamowswine with Weavile, unless anyone can point out a reason why when using this version of my team Mamoswine works better.

too many LOs. With SR, LO and possibly sandstorm damage with no wish or rapid spin support=bad.
1. gyara i wud go bounce>stone edge 4 celebi and give it leftovers
2. gengar= fine
3. Ape- Closecombat >focus blast, 64 atk, 252sp.a, 192speed, naive. makes a good wall breaker, keep LO.
4. possibly change mamoswine to Donphan as it can spin away any hazards which is good
Donphan@leftovers
Adamant Sturdy
(Ev's from analysis, which is currently down, i will edit later)
-Rapid Spin
-Earthquake
-Assurance
-Stone Edge
Rapid spin because of what i mentioned earlier, EQ is a hard hitting Stab, Ice Shard 4 priority and mimics ur previous mamo. Asuurance 4 spin blockers- gengar, dusknoir, rotom formes.

Ok. Here are the issues that I see with your team.

1. Gyarados

It seems to me that gyarados is just a sweeper. But gyarados doesn't have enough power to KO many pokemon with your choice scarf set. Being locked into one move is also extremely disadvantageous. In addition, in glancing at your other pokemon, you become set up "flodder" for substitute/stat upping moves. If you want to use Gyarados as a sweeper, he can also be a supporter. He has great resistances to water, fire and fighting which are three of the most used types of attacks today. If you really want to trouble your opponents try a set with taunt and dragon dance and make sure you have a counter for those pesky thunder attacks.

2. Azelf

I've never seem used this set before nor am I familiar with it. It does seem as if it is just more of a liability than a threat. I would switch mixnape as a lead and add stealth rock, and use the nasty plot set on azelf. It makes a great late game sweeper.

3. Lucario

Your lucario set is fine. Its great. Life orb works well and I really wouldn't recommend that on any other pokemon other than mixmence. I would try to use it as a late game sweeper more often than not, but don't be afraid to use it early on to set the tempo.

4. Gengar

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the choice scarf set. Gengar is fragile enough and thus if an opponent has sandstorm from sand stream, you'll lose hit points quickly if you keep switching and if your opponent is smart- he'll outpredict you and keep switching pokemon and then it just becomes a mental mind game that no one wants to play. I use another set that isn't a choiced item.

5. Infernape

Once again, the choice scarf set doesn't seem necessary to me. If you want more success sweeping, switch it with life orb and turn it into a mixed sweeper. Infernape's base speed is 108 and if you're putting it against pokemon that are faster than it (Latias, Gengar etc.) you're using it incorrectly. A nasty ploted mixnape can KO rotom with fire blast. I don't think this set can do this.

6. Mamoswine

I'm really not a fan of choice items, but this set is OK. Mamoswine seems to be the better pokemon in your team. It just seems that you depend on your opponent to be oblivious to what you're countering. Too many of your pokemon are choiced which is really not a good idea. A choice band is only one sword dance.

Your team's weakness:
1. No rapid spin support: eventually you'll meet the type of the player that likes to stall it out and force switches. With your team, you'll get worn out pretty quickly and then a sweeper will just finish off your pokemon.

2. Too many choiced pokemon: Too little options- and you always want to switch when your opponent brings out a counter. What if rotom used trick? that could ruin one of your pokemon.
